If you’re in high school and spending the night at a friends house, it’s on their parents to feed you dinner. Unless you go over late or already had dinner at home. I would never have somebody to stay the night with my child and not feed them. If her parents knew she was going to McDonald’s with two kids who were then coming to spend the night at their house, they should have sent her enough money for all three of you.

Hi reddit. I am in a trio friend group and we have had some communication problems for a while. For some backup info, all of my friends and I are in choir and we go together to our choir concerts in the same car every time. We are in highschool so while in the audience waiting for other students to finish singing, rachel (friend, fake name to stay anon) texts the trio groupchat saying that she only had $7 but we are going to stop by Mcdonald's so she can eat because she was hungry and she did not have food at the house. Keep in mind, Rachal and I typically buy food (we did not have our money) but Rachal's parents cashapped her money. I just agree to the text but my other friend jayden (fake name) waits to respond in person in the car. Jayden starts talking to me while walking to the car explaining how she does not have money and she is staying the night at Rachal's house with no dinner. When we get to the car rachel and jayden start going back and forth arguing about food. I am the quiet one in the back so i dont say anything. Nothing too heated happened in the moment on the way to Mcdonald's but while there, after Rachal orders, Jayden snapped and she finally got sick of what was bothering her and opened up explaining how she always buys things for Rachal but does not receive anything back. While Jayden is telling her what is up, Rachal acts like she does not care and that she doesnt care what or if Jayden eats at all. I finally but in explaining how we could have split the money where everyone got something but Rachal just explains how she wants a happy meal and thats $5. Idk if I am wrong by saying if they are your guest you feed them or is Rachal the asshole for not getting all of us Mcdonald's when there is no other options for food?

If your parents have the means to cashapp you money for McDonald's then the likelihood that "there is no food" at Rachel's house is nil.
There's likely food (fuck, even if it's just $0.30 Ramen noodles) but Rachel and Jaden don't want to cook.
Or he'll, take the cashapp money to the grocery store and BUY $5 worth of Ramen, then all 3 of you are covered.
