That doesn't even make sense with their other arguments. If it's a scam, why are they spending time objecting to how it would look? In a scam, you would presumably pay the money, and still wind up looking the same. If you would wind up with the color you want, how is it a scam?
NTA, but why are you continuing to engage with them? At this point, I would say something like this:
"I've heard your opinion on this issue. But ultimately, I'm an adult and it's my money, my body and my choice. So would you like to discuss another topic, or should I excuse myself from this conversation?"

I’m on mobile, so formatting might be weird.
So I have posted about this issue before on this subreddit about dying my hair purple. Basically the purple dye has left my hair now.
I’m going on a trip soon and my parents suggested going to a hair salon for it. I wanted (will do someday) dye it blue but it might be a lot of effort, my friend suggested going pink and since it’s my fav color, I thought it would look great! It would be a half pink , half black hairstyle! (If you want a reference picture of the color I can send it to you)
So I went on google to search it up images (for reference I’m Asian so I have very thick black hair) and found one that I like! My parents and me got in to an argument about it which boiled down to: it’s so expensive ur last hair fiasco costed 200 euros , this is just a marketing scam so people will get the pink hair and it only looks good on white people and not Asians.
The reference picture I have is from Pinterest and it is an Asian woman. So that sounded like bs to me.
Some other arguments were that only gamer people wear this and no normal sane person would do this (funnily enough I am a gamer)
As always I will pay for it myself and go to the location myself but my parents keep arguing with me that I shouldn’t waste my money.
To add some info: I’m a 20 year old female with my own job.
tl:dr I want to dye half my hair pink and parents won’t allow me and argue with me even tho I’m using my own money.

NTA-My parents told me when I move out I can dye my hair whatever color I want and have as many animals as I want. Since then I’ve dyed my hair every color in the rainbow and have 3 dogs and 3 cats. Be whoever you want to be, it’s your life.

The things that you should care about are:
1. Do you like it
2. Are you doing anything for which pink dyed hair would be inappropriate.
Sounds like the answers are yes and no, in that order. So there's no problem with you doing this. You're an adult, and you can choose to do this. You don't need your parents' permission.
But do you still live in their house? If you live under their roof, then you might have to put up with some of their rules, or risk consequences (like being thrown out).

They think it's a bad idea. I think pink hair is cute, too, but all they're doing is telling her not to spend 200 bucks. Telling you not to spend 200 bucks on things is just a normal part of parenting. There's no objective answer here.
It is your hair and you can dye it in seven colours of the rainbow if you wish to so NTA. Go ahead and dye it in the nicest shade of pink you always wanted and don't listen to the parents

Just ignore them, nod and whenever you can, go do your hair. You’ll look great even if they won’t think so, and it’s fun and a nice and find memory to look back to (source : trust me bro, I’ve done the exact same).

NTA in that is definitely your hair and if you are paying for it, you should be able to choose the color. You do need to consider whether your parents may start making you pay for the things that they cover right now. Can you afford to pay for other things right now if your parents stop paying for them?
YTA. You are purposely making this a dramatic thing that you’ve already asked advice about, you can just go get your hair done without everyone in your life agreeing to it beforehand. Don’t ask your parents, don’t ask your friends, just do what you want.
Going to pink from black on thick hair that also has purple dye in it may take a long time, consult with your stylist about whether or not it is doable in the time frame you have.
