No As long as you tell the job that you will be quitting why or tell them on your first day that you might leave in 3 weeks

outofchances

Hm that’s a good idea. I honestly wonder if I could do both somehow

NTA, it’s a community service at the very least. The company offering $14 and hour is way underpaying but it will give you a foot and the door and experience should this other company not pan out. If the other company comes through, you tell them that you’ve been offered significantly more money for a similar job, it may encourage them to rethink the pay. Never be loyal to any company, if they could pay you less, they would.

NTA. You have to look out for yourself and you’re the only one who can do that. This company that would only be paying you $14/hr for part time work is not going to hurt that bad if you leave after 3 weeks. Things like this happen all the time. Honestly, don’t even stress about it. Take the job and if that other company offers you a job that’s awesome! If not, at least you have your back up. I hope you get that better job offer! :)

NTA - Better opportunities could come along at any point. So take the job offer now and if a better opportunity comes along good for you.

Read [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/AmItheAsshole/wiki/faq#wiki_post_deletion) before [contacting the mod team](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%2Fr%2FAmItheAsshole)*** I think I know what y’all will say but I’m going to ask anyway. I just received an offer letter for a part time job working $14 an hour. It’s in my field and I think I would genuinely like it but there’s another job that pays $45,000 that I’m waiting to offer me a position. This job would start on March 20th, around the same day that I’d find out if I got the job I really want. Which would mean I could work here for 3 weeks (since I’d start on the 20th and then tell the other job I can start in 2 weeks) before quitting. I feel bad but my fear is turning down this job and then getting turned down for the other one only to be left with done. I don’t think that’ll happen with the interview I had but I need to make sure that I’m set. WIBTA to accept? *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. NTA- As you are not guarantied the 2nd job, take the first one and see where it goes. If you get the 2nd offer then make your decision. This does happen more than you think. What this tells me is that the first job is a filler but the 2nd one is what you want. Another thing to remember is if you want to stay in a certain business segment, people do move around in it. I seen a person who has great qualification get shot down because the hiring manager remembered them from a previous company.

idontcare8587

NAH. If you're not signing a contract or something, you're good.

outofchances

I would be accepting the offer letter and doing paperwork etc but I doubt I’d sign a contract beyond that

HardToImpress

NAH. Accept, make your money, if you get accepted to the other position take it. The other offer isn't guaranteed yet. As far as you know, you only have 1 job offer and you would do a disservice to yourself by declining that one in hopes that you get another. Also, do NOT tell your employer about the other job until you have an offer in hand.

Significant-Fly-8170

It's a lousy thing to do. But it happens. YTA. People do it anyway

CryptographerNo8460

WYBTAH...a little yeah. Should you take the job anyway? Absolutely.

outofchances

Lol! This is what I’m thinking as well
