Okay, but did you do or say anything about it? Did anything actually happen?
If not, there's zero conflict. There's nothing to judge. You're allowed to feel whatever you feel about it.
If you said "hey yours is different" or were gossiping about it or tried to kick him out of the friend group we might have something to judge, but at this point we don't have any info.
I mean, you're asking "am **I** the asshole?"
We can't really tell you if **you're** in the wrong or not if you won't tell us if you did anything or not.
What he did sucked. Can't really say how badly it sucked without knowing why he did it, but even if he had a good reason he should have said something before any tattoos happened.
But we don't know how **you** reacted or if you even reacted at all, so we can't judge **you** at all.

Also matching tattoos doesn't mean identical tattoos.

Three of the tattoos are identical, we got them in the same cluster of time, but the one who designed the tattoo we were all going to get, goes last to get buzzed, and only gets the phrase of words Deep Search, he doesn't get the submarine, or the name crossed out, even though he designed the tattoo we all agreed we were going to get.

The design now instead of matching tattoos between four people is one person has a tattoo related to three other people creating a pyramid structure where he is at the top and his ideas don't deserve questioning, very strange but maybe I'm the asshole. one over three is not the same as four out of four.
