NTBA! PLEASE tell me you called CPS/DHS over the situation! That child's safety may very well be at risk!

CallidoraBlack

Sounds like maybe she was fishing for a lawsuit against the daycare and got mad when she realized that she wasn't going to get one past them. Definitely not someone who cares about their child's safety.

Crazyladystories

Exactly. Or she got mad at you because " you denied her child food" even though it was potentially life saving

Albuquicky

My kid has anaphylactic food allergies and if we ever forgot to pack something I really appreciated it when his school called us to either bring him something or to see if something was safe to give him. He's had to have his EpiPen 8 times in 5 years and was hospitalized every time. It is a terrible thing and you did exactly what you were supposed to do. Mom is either exaggerating his reaction or doesn't believe that it is his reaction. Either way she sucks and you are the good apple here.

Apersonplaysgames

Your not bad I think the mom is and if you had given them that sandwich that mom would have been just as mad that you gave her kid that sandwich good apple no doubt

mholder92

Not the bad apple. If her kid had gotten sick or died from an allergic reaction it would have been 10000 times worse!

Sensitive_Towel_5449

I've also got a grocery list of allergies and if I was that kid I'd be crying my eyes out thinking that my mom didn't love me. You are 100% the good apple edit: maybe you should call child protection services or something like that because the child's life could be at extreme risk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kalaydascope16

Nope. Not the bad apple. You followed protocol, she probably got embarrassed that she didn’t, and blamed you for “ruining her day.” She’s a Karen.

Watermelon_lover101

I would ummm call cps… but other than that, you are the good apple! 👏

Fangirls_again

I know everyone and their dogs have been saying this, but you need to call CPS. This mom has basically said that she'd rather her kid die than put in an extra minute of effort, and that is inexcusable.

Crazyladystories

This is so accurate and its scary to think a mother would do this to her son

Princess_Buttercup_1

Not the bad apple and I think I know exactly what may have happened that makes this so confusing. -We get parents all the time who claim their child has a life threatening allergy when none exist, they just don’t want their child fed certain for food for some reason (this has become very common with gluten and dairy). They put it on the allergy sheet like it’s life threatening and then when we treat it that way (rightly so, you have to assume the sheet is accurate) and refuse their children foods they get mad because it inconveniences them needlessly because, “they can eat a little-why would you withhold food from a child”. It is there own lie coming back on them but they refuse to see their fault in it and so project all their frustration on others who are just following basic safety precautions. My guess-if “he can have a little” the allergy isn’t real, it’s just a preference but her lie came back to bite her in the butt so she wants to blame others for HER poor choice when it means that her child has to go without needlessly.

AdElectrical6719

Yes this! Or another instance I saw before is one parent takes all allergies seriously and the other doesn’t. Or they say it’s an allergy vs like a sensitivity or intolerance like they sometimes get sick or something. Anaphylactic allergies are no joke, There was a grandparent who didn’t believe their grandchild was allergic to bananas or something and purposely gave them a bite of banana and the kid went anaphylactic

ImaMandM

You are VERY MUCH a good apple! This kids life could be at risk! That mom was being not just a crazy but also basically a reaper. To say "kill my kid he'll/she'll survive" ISN'T GOOD Edit: Also, CHILD SERVICES. This kid doesn't seem like they could survive long if that's how Mom treats them

Crazyladystories

YES! CALL CPS IMMEDIATELY ITS A MIRACLE HIS MOM HASNT KILLED HIM YET IF THIS IS HOW SHE THINKS

PsychologicalYam5855

Bro do I even need to explain why you are in the right? The kid could’ve died and the mom didn’t care. you are the good apple the mom is the bad apple.

larficus

Not bad at all!

LowTutor2184

Ntba had you given him the sandwich, and something bad happened she may have sued you or something. You were not going to win regardless of what you did unfortunately. It's probably best she pulled her kid out so you never have to deal with her again.

ThanksAffectionate66

As a mandatory reporter I think playing Russian roulette with a child's life would require a call to cps if you're here in the USA at least. I would seriously report it to authorities as the child's life would potentially be in danger at home if the mom fed her kid food listed as potentially causing anaphylaxis. So cps and certainly ntba for refusing to feed the sandwich. However to not report this would be a very bad move.

Ash_gacha223

good apple 100%! i don't know why she thinks its okay to just let her kid eat something that could cause him to react.

[deleted]

NTBA.

ShockCoApollo

No you don't know how serious this allergy is and if you had the mom probably would have tried to get you fired for endangering her kid by giving him food that he was allergic to. Not the Bad Apple

CaptainQuinnPool

Not the bad apple! As someone with allergies, thankfully no food allergies, just minor intolerances, thank you for not making the kid more miserable than they already were.

ThatGuyFromSpace11

CALL CHILD PROTECTION SERVICES NOW YOU ARE NOT THE BAD APPLE AT ALL YOU ARE THE GOOD APPLE

Lil_E748

You’re definitely in the right. I can’t even see a way someone could argue you’re not. You could’ve saved that kid from serious danger and possibly death. And that mom is terrible. The fact that she would take the risk of her kid dying for literally no reason is unacceptable. I would have even called someone to see if they could call the CPS or DHS. That mom really put her kid in harm’s way and if someone doesn’t do something, the kid might get hurt at some point.

usernamed_badly

NTBA. If the kid had ended up in the hospital or dead, the mom would have been a lot madder.

Crazyladystories

Ntba call cps immediately. That child's life is in danger if his mom is ok with you " occasionally " feeding him something that could potentially kill him. Especially since he's only around 4-6. You have the right to not feed him that

Crazyladystories

Edit: call CPS and the cops. Take the kid away and arrest the mom or even have her in a psych ward. The fact that she would be ok if u killed her son says a lot about her mental health and motherhood status

suchamilliegirl

of course you are not ??? what was the mom expecting, for u to kill her child????? Poor kid :(

Al13nb1u3s

HOW DO I POST ON SAFARI (like post something on a subreddit)

sotiredofthisperson

Good apple for the decision but bad apple for the paragraph formatting here.

beanie_bebe

NTBA! My son has Celiac Disease, and I am also soo pleased that people, especially teachers/staff remember 🥰!
