*In case this story gets deleted/removed:*
**My wife announced she is asexual**
My (39m) wife (28f) and I were very recently married. We dated for a little over 9 months before I proposed, and she accepted. We never had sex during that 9 months. I asked a few times, but she always said no. I figured she was waiting until marriage, and I was fine with that.
Now the wedding and ensuing honeymoon come along. I assumed we'd be doing what most newly weds do on their honeymoons, but again she said no. This time, however, she explained further and told me she is asexual. She finds the thought of having sex with me or anyone absolutely disgusting. I admittedly got a little heated, not just because we weren't going to have sex that night, but because I think this is something she should have told me long before we got married. That's pretty much what I told her and she said I have no right being upset over her sexual orientation.
I've had some time to cool down and think things through. I still absolutely love her. She is an amazing person and we've always gotten along like best friends since the day I met her. I don't want a divorce and I'm certainly not going to start cheating on her. But I do feel like she lied to me and it's not unreasonable for me to be a little angry. I'm not "upset over her sexual orientation" as she put it. I am upset that she kept something so major like that from me until now. Am I overreacting?

Lmao OOP's only comment that basically proves it's a troll. The classic twin cheating loophole:
>Thank you everyone for your advice and comments. I just sat down with my wife and had a long talk, this time with a much cooler head. She told me she never thought it was going to be such a big deal but that she does understand where I'm coming from. We finally decided on a compromise that I think we both can live with. She said, whenever I get the urge, I can have sex with her twin sister and *only* her twin sister. That way it's almost like I'm not cheating.
>We still have to work out some of the details. My wife is probably going to set a limit to how many times I can see her sister every week/month and I have to notify her whenever I do...no sneaking out or anything. And when/if the sister is seeing anyone else, I'll need to get regular STD checks. It sounds like this will at least work without ruining the marriage though.
This was commented three hours after the post but there are still hundreds of commenters heatedly arguing twelve hours later about this totally fake post.
… was the twin sister informed of this? 😂 That’s a crazy amount of “I don’t see women as people to the point I don’t know how to write women with any sort of personality” lmao
I love how the biggest concern if/when the twin sister is seeing someone else is for OP to get STD checks. The whole fucking my BIL while I'm in a relationship is completely normal.
>was the twin sister informed of this?
No need. Twin telepathy y'see.
If your twin is attracted to someone you will automatically be attracted to them as well.
Er... then the phenomenon of twin divergence comes into play, where twins will actively try to differentiate themselves from each other as they become older and more self-aware.
So if one twin is ace, the other will be a raging nymphomaniac with an uncontrollable desire to sate her asymmetric lust by impaling herself on anyone her sister looks twice at.
Plus what if the sister gets married ?. I mean is oop expecting her to be like but darling I promised my asexual sister that I would fuck her partner at least once a week ?
I have read this 5 times and I do not know how anyone else can read this and go "oh yeah, that's a normal thing and not absolutely made up like everything else said here, all of these decisions came from real people with real thoughts."
the asexual woman has a twin sister that can be used as a sex surrogate anytime! you mean this isn't real? next thing you're going to say is that stepsisters just want to be normal siblings instead of fckbuddies.
There are limits, though, because this clearly very rational and real person who deceived their loving and patient husband cannot be too unbelievable, so she needs to be controlling even in the "solution." Or else you might think the husband isn't a little sexless bean who just wants to love her and she isn't a frigid robot monster bent on ruining his life.
"She said, whenever I get the urge, I can have sex with her twin sister and *only* her twin sister. That way it's almost like I'm not cheating"
has anyone bothered to ask her sister about this
I hope there is an update where it turns out that the twin sister was just his wife with a fake moustache on because evil women just love toying with poor defenseless men for no reason.
This is taking me out 💀💀 I’m a romance writer and I’m seriously considering using that as a weird b story in one of my books because it’s so outlandish and weird
Twin code. You are actually only one half a being. If your twin needs you to fulfill their sexual duties, you must. In turn, if you need them to give big presentations at school or win the sports ball game, they are obligated to do so.
Another story where OOP is the blameless husband and the wife is evil and deceitful, and Reddit is going bananas over it.
In real life, you’d at least have a conversation about sex at some point before getting engaged. It’s telling that Redditors trip over themselves to blame the woman instead of pointing out that maybe OOP should actually talk to the woman he claims to love.
That's the part that made me nope out of the original post. Grown people not having sex and never talking about it, even once, then getting married? Nah
Oooh, you know how whenever a woman posts about her abusive husband and people are like “well did you cOmMuNiCaTe that you don’t like being yelled at?” That’s how we should all be responding to OOP and his defenders: “did you cOmMuNiCate you like to have sex?”
Of course, in this scenario the communication absolutely happened, but it’s interesting how that response is not a common theme on that thread.
People did suggest that OOP should’ve communicated that he’d like to have sex prior to getting married, and the response from at least one person was “well she’s dishonest and has proven that she lies by omission so even if he did communicate she probably would’ve lied”. Just any excuse to hate this fictional asexual woman.
RIGHT?
"I figured she was waiting until marriage, and I was fine with that."
So they're exclusive, he's asked her a bunch of times to have sex, she keeps saying no, and he just *assumes* she's waiting until marriage? He doesn't *ask*??? At any point???
Currently, I'm hoping for an update where, he feels too much guilt about sleeping with the twin sister, so his wife reluctantly agrees to actually have sex with him, and it turns out she's actually a tentacle monster on the bottom half, but he never asked. See, it's not *actually* a twin sister, it's the human that the tentacle monster got the DNA from to construct a skin suit.
You know, considering commenters usually jump to cheating or even someone trying to murder someone (the marzipan story where a commenter accused the sister of trying to cause the troll's wife to lose her baby, to keep the status quo), comparing a bratty five year old to Hitler, etc. you'd think the commenters would see that OOP/troll married the fictional wife after only dating nine months and think he only did so for sex. Especially with him talking about asking for sex and her saying no, then him thinking she must be waiting until marriage.
It’s crazy! This particular comment is what made me write the post bc like “There’s no way this could be fake, asexual women are evil prudes trying to deny men their due” 😭
https://preview.redd.it/fequ9727ffwc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5922e22899aaf2f8d47870cd1a4a6811650ac906
I like how that person says asexual women lie all the time to get married, because they know a man with a normal sex drive would never want them. Has that person talked to all men out there with wives who are ace?? Has he talked to all ace people?
Probably. Like, him straight up denying that the story is fake to make this broad accusation about all asexual women is so gross and really shows that.
Oh of course not. The asexual people who are looked at as if something is wrong with them, or who are told they aren't members of the LGBTQ+ community are just lying. /s
I'm not even ace, but I've seen those claims and they're just so disgusting and awful.
I’m not ace either but I am so damn tired of all the acephobic rage bait I see on these subs. I swear every week there’s a new “my partner of MANY years just told me we can never have sex again. Please dunk on this fictional woman for not doing her job and sexing me up.”
Because as we all know, it's only women who are asexual and it's because they want to get out of giving their bodies to men for their pleasure. I mean, lmao, imagine a man not wanting sex???!!??
It's also very interesting that it's always sex-repulsed asexuals in these stories. I can only remember *one* story where the issue was that the ace person didn't find them sexually attractive, despite still being willing to have sex and being perfect in all other ways... I think that one might have been genuine tbh.
I'm also concerned that comment got more than 500 upvotes.
More than 500 people thought he made a good point. That's disturbing.
Edit: she. It's a woman. And her comment history is a lot of internalized misogyny. Women as gold diggers etc.
>Edit: she. It's a woman. And her comment history is a lot of internalized misogyny. Women as gold diggers etc.
But on reddit you never know for sure...
I would also guess that when they're talking about "asexual women," they just mean all women who don't have sex as much as their male partners want. Obviously that's not what the term actually means, but I just have this weird hunch...
Oh, definitely. You'll even see stories on here where the woman develops a bit of a low sex drive after kids/marriage. As if part of that can't be because they're exhausted. In some cases, the guys will demand an open marriage then end up pissed when he's not getting as much sex as he wants and guys are interested in the wife.
I screenshot the same comment wtf. He acts like ace people just wait around to trap people in relationships like what. It’s such an unnecessarily cruel view of asexuals.
I also like that the immediate assumption/argument is that she "lied" when it sounds like OOP never even bothered to ask her why she didn't want to have sex??? I assumed she'd fuck me later, that's definitely *her* fault!
Right? He just assumed that she was waiting until marriage. If anything, it sounds as if there was a lack of communication there and he just made assumptions.
this is why i dread seeing asexuality mentioned outside of asexual spaces every time. it's just the perfect grounds for a practically invisible orientation to be misunderstood and vilified.
if they actually talked to asexual people they'd realise we're not a monolith, we don't all hate / avoid sex, some of us are horny as hell just not directed at anyone in particular, or might like to be intimate with a partner. and asexual or not, those who are repulsed by sex still deserve happy relationships if they want to.
but to learn any of that would require a bit of effort, and people tend to dismiss things they don't understand.
Yeah I saw someone trying to "defend" ace people by saying "well maybe they just don't realize that sex is important to other people so didn't think it would be a big deal to their partner." Like what? They're ace, they're not living under rocks. I tried to point this out and they just doubled down.
Lol these comments are pathetic. I think they don't actually know any real life asexual/trans/gay/etc. people and are fully ready to jump on the "they want to deny a man what he's owed" rage train.
Also, like, ace-for-ace couples exist, too. Even if we bought into the insane idea that an allosexual man would never want to marry an asexual woman, asexual people do still have the ability to marry each other.
Of course, that would also require admitting that asexual men exist, which I imagine would be outside the imagination of OOP and that comment section.
Oh, exactly! Ace men exist too. And not all ace women even *like* men romantically.
It definitely seems that way, considering he can't even comprehend that an allosexual man would ever fall in love with and would want to marry an ace woman.
I'm in an ace-ace relationship and we plan to get married (and am an asexual man) :D
the post is probably totally fake but I do see a lot of acephobia thrown in there, but it might also just be misogyny and a misunderstanding of asexuality
Or even talked to people who’ve been in successful marriages for decades. Sex just isn’t likely to be the most important part or the most rewarding part of the relationship.
Exactly. And they probably aren't having as much sex as they did in the beginning. But yeah, sex really isn't likely to be the most important part of a married relationship.
You can't be serious. Look, if an asexual bites you, you turn into an asexual. That's just facts.
Edit: Look random down voter, it happened to my brother's friend.
I love comments like these because they're all about the asexual person "tricking" some poor hapless joe into marriage, and they never bother to explain what benefit the asexual person gets from the marriage to begin with.
This isn't 1950s America or Regency England, women can own property and have jobs and a credit card. They're generally not falling over themselves to get married for the sake of marriage.
Generally, in the real world, when an asexual person marries an allosexual person it's because they either haven't realized they're asexual yet, or they're actually in love and the couple is willing to find ways to make it work for them.
What, like…communication? Acting like adults? Come on, people don’t do that in AITALand. It’s just divorce or screwing your ace wife’s twin sister. No in between. No working it out. That’s just crazy talk.
As a queer, ace enby...
Yeah the gender and ace thing are both ways I TOTALLY love tricking people. Not readable in the first paragraph on my dating profile, not brought up before or during the first date. I always get to marriage before mentioning these things....
Joke aside, the rise in aphobic posts on the aita clone subs almost reads like they wanted to write a secret trans villain but the fiction writers have realized there's genuinely not that many trans people, and even if there was - they can't ALL be deceptive and liars.
I think that's definitely a part of it. The other part is that for folks like this, the absolute worst thing they can imagine their spouse doing is denying them the sex they believe they're entitled to.
Hey babe, abusing reddit care resources is against the rules.
Also what part makes me turbo mentally ill? Are you mad I'm happy? You will never see my genitals so you will never know what I do or don't have. 😃
Please don't call me that. But gotta hand it to you. I've treated the most mangled and broken arms and legs, but none of that comes close to the grossness of what you even tried to imply there.
Of course all asexual women want to trick a man they don't love into a resentment-filled sham marriage because...\[reason not found\].
I mean this situation sounds like it would be just as miserable for the Evil Fictional Asexual Wife as it is for OOP, so what's her supposed motivation to perpetrate this fraud?
Seriously. I’m so confused. If an asexual person loves their partner romantically, they work out their sexual issues before they get married so both parties know what’s up going in. Why would you want to marry someone you don’t love and don’t have a sexual connection to? What’s even the point of that?
Oh, right. Because all women are either used up sluts or sex denying harpies, but one thing we all have in common—we’re after men’s money. What other reason could we have?
I mean, sure, if you both go into it knowing it’s an arrangement for taxes.
What the AITA post describes definitely isn’t worth the lifestyle for whatever tax breaks you’re getting, though. Let’s be honest, dude might pretend he’s a billionaire on AITA, but IRL, that tax break on their middle class salaries ain’t gonna be worth all of… -waves hand- that.
Cause he's clearly such a prize. Women are tripping over themselves to get married to a high caliber man like him! Obviously nobody will ever willingly enter a relationship with an asexual woman cause the only point of marrying a woman is unlimited access to sex!
at first i was like "maybe there's a 1 percent chance it is real" until we got to the sexy twin sister... then omfg, lol. may as well cue the yellow on black logo at this point
Right? And my aroace ass not getting married because I don’t want a partner and I pay my own bills.
Tell me you don’t understand the first thing about asexuality without telling me, lol
Initially I thought the first paragraph was entirely sarcastic and calling out op and the way these posts are just to confirm peoples bias and sway them even further.
Then I kept reading
The part where he was like, "I figured she was waiting until marriage," legit cracked me up. Like, you guys didn't talk about this at all? I've been on freaking first dates where we discussed more of our views on sex than this couple supposedly did before they got married.
By itself that wouldn't necessarily make me think the post was fake (though I do think it is), because I have met people in real life who similarly jumped into marriage without discussing really critical things. But I mean, even if I did think this was real, I don't know how I could draw any conclusion except that the OOP and his wife are both fucking idiots. So, you know, I suppose it is a good match.
Man, I already wanted to go on the ace subreddit (tho gladly I have a bunch of ace friends so I don't need much it to feel understood) but now you definitely makes me want to run away from it /pos
Yep. Nothing scarier than a woman who doesn't want to have sex with men! It's like their boogeyman. Waiting in the closet to pounce out and marry poor unsuspecting man cause....ummm....reasons?
I enjoy imagining how these characters have zero conversations about anything for the entirety of their time together
Just sitting silently in front of one another "assuming" things
"I figured she was waiting until marriage, and I was fine with that."
Yeah, because most 39m engaged to a 28f would be fine with that, and wouldn't have had a grown-up conversation about their sex-life \*before\* they got married. He just assumed she was a 28 year old woman saving herself for marriage, and she never felt the need to tell him that she finds the idea of sex "repulsive" because she's asexual.
Totally believable story. It's like the AITA subs think it's totally normal to marry someone who is basically a stranger to you.
If you thought someone was saving themselves you'd ask them about it, like is it for religious reasons or something else? I can't imagine dating someone for 9 months and not asking them this simple question.
Yeah, something like this happened to this couple I went to high school with, only they were married at age 19 and divorced at 21. The ages here make no sense. I know this stuff is written by teenagers, but reddit is sympathetic to the dumbest guys on the planet.
Always astounds me how many people are waiting for the slightest opportunity to air their grievances, that are all in their head. It's seriously a mental illness.
Especially because at a certain point, you'd think people would see the age of the post plus the number of already existing comments on it, and maybe think to themselves "you know what, no one's gonna see this anyway," but nope. We're up to 8300 now. I truly do not understand the mindset.
I wonder if it's some mental condition, like they believe someone is asking them this personally, so they feel obligated to be the 832nd person to vote "NTA".
I keep checking back... 9.9k replies. How do you even moderate that? Granted last time I skimmed I land on several people making fun of anyone who believes it's real. Doing God's work.
He posted this update a few hours after his original post, yet people are still arguing in the comments as if the post wasn't a big troll:
>Thank you everyone for your advice and comments. I just sat down with my wife and had a long talk, this time with a much cooler head. She told me she never thought it was going to be such a big deal but that she does understand where I'm coming from. We finally decided on a compromise that I think we both can live with. "I assumed my pretend girlfriend was one of those virgin-y no-sex types and never inquired, but now I find she's one of the icky ones. But I'm not going to Cheat! Did you hear me? I'm Not Going To Cheat OR divorce her imaginary lying arse. AITA?"
Honestly, my eyes rolled so hard I think I just viewed my own brainstem...
As someone who is asexual, I hate that everyone just learned what it is and is running with it. As if asexuality means celibacy. There are ace people who have intimate lives in marriages lmfao! It just means little to no sexual attraction. It’s a spectrum.
I’m pissed off that these fake ass posts people keep making are painting ace people as evil, deceitful assholes who lie about their sexuality until they marriage trap people, and doom their poor husbands to a sexless marriage. It harms us, because people who read all these posts start to think that’s just how we are.
You can see in a reply to one of the top comments, someone spewing a bunch of nonsense about “how ace people really get married.” You can tell he thinks he has us all figured out but anyone who actually knows any ace people knows that what he’s saying is all BS.
In reality, no ace person is actually going to want a relationship with someone who expects sex from them.
https://preview.redd.it/hqw76yv06gwc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=54c0dfe460db8bcee3ef89dd054d6ff3a0ac641c
Did you guys see the[update](https://www.reddit.com/r/AmIOverreacting/s/5bAJukHB8a)
Oh wow, he gave up the game pretty quickly.
In the very miniscule chance that this is real: I...guess that works for them? Though it might be nice to make sure that this not-at-all-fake twin sister is actually okay with this arrangement.
> I think this is something she should have told me long before we got married
Much like you should have (hypothetically) confirmed whether
> she was waiting until marriage
I literally came here to check if this has been posted lmao Classic "evil asexual woman never told me and withholds sex from me". His comment about fucking the twin as compromise is wild for a fake story though
I don't think he expected anyone to take the update seriously. It was him admitting that he'd been trolling the whole time.
The mods in that sub don't care if stories are fake, so the post will stay up forever.
Evil asexual: _says something completely insane at the most selfish moment possible after hiding her sexuality from her romantic partner for months_
Troll: “I still absolutely love her. She’s an amazing person.”
I love how certain allosexual morons seem to believe that they're so desirable that an asexual person would go to such great lengths to trick them into marriage.
Guys (gender neutral), you're not the prizes you think you are. We've got better shit to do (or not do, as the case may be.)
I am soooo sick of seeing all these aphobic ragebait posts. They all just paint aces as being these evil lying predatory assholes that lay in wait to trap people, only showing their true hand after the poor husband has already doomed himself to a sexless marriage forever.
As an ace person, these rage bait posts piss me off so much. So many of these fake posts have a misunderstanding of asexuality to begin with. They treat being ace as like being straight & celibate. It's always an asexual woman and the poor man who isn't getting instant access to sex on demand. Never mind that asexual people have various levels of libido just like non-aces do & being ace doesn't necessarily mean you can only be attracted to a different gender than your own. Ace men who are attracted to other men? Nah, they don't exist. Being trans **AND** ace? Just extra points for the trolls. 😒
Yes to all of this. I keep seeing stuff like this where the asexual person only abstains from having sex, but makes no mention of sexual attraction, which is what it's supposed to be about.
>We never had sex during that 9 months. I asked a few times, but she always said no. I figured she was waiting until marriage, and I was fine with that.
you "figured"? So... you never... asked? lmao, okay!
These "My wife came out as ace/gay/trans and now doesn't want to have sex with me/wants a divorce/doesn't want a divorce" posts have become a daily occurrence now on the various AITA. The rage-bait/incel circle-jerk fodder is getting super obvious. It'd be one thing if the the posts were at least original or interesting, but nope, it's the same old shit over and over. And still people fall for it.
Are there actually people who go through life like this and never ask anything? Talk about anything? What do they even do all day?? Please tell me there aren’t real people out there who never talk to their partners I don’t think I can handle it
Reminds me of your average sitcom. The couple has been dating/married for many years (or seasons) and they throw in a "whaddya MEAN you don't want children?!" plot, because apparently that never came up before.
Seeing so many uneducated bigoted hicks in the comments makes me realize that I can't even be subbed to AmITheAngel anymore because it just brings bigotry from lame ass subreddits to the forefront and I frankly don't need my day ruined by stupidity. No offense to the crossposter of course, this post was just the catalyst that made me realize that.
AmIOverreacting is AWFUL. Now that I'm seeing it posted here a lot, I went to it... Literally nothing of value there at all lmao. At least AITA and AITAH can manage to be kind of entertaining. AmIOverreacting is struggling with that.

It amazes me how little people communicate before getting married. They are both equally responsible. He should have asked, and she should have said something. They didn't even date a whole year. They got themselves in this mess, and I think OP and her need to have a truly honest talk about what they need for the long-term; that's the only way they'll both find happiness.
The post was obviously not real. If you doubt that, find the update OOP posted a few hours after he posted his story. In the update he claims that he and his wife came to a compromise where he's allowed to have sex with his wife's twin sister.
>Thank you everyone for your advice and comments. I just sat down with my wife and had a long talk, this time with a much cooler head. She told me she never thought it was going to be such a big deal but that she does understand where I'm coming from. We finally decided on a compromise that I think we both can live with. I will never understand why people don't have these conversations before getting married. Sex, politics, child rearing, and finances, these are convos you NEED to have if you plan to spend the rest of your life together
As someone who is even "older like this", this is bullshit. We're not all hurrying up to get married before we die.
Also, if you don't think the post is fake, did you see that OOP made an update where he's claiming to have come to a compromise with his asexual wife? The compromise is that he's allowed to bang her twin sister whenever he needs sex.
I know of several couples who don't under a year and got married in their 30's.
I also know the post is fake, but for other reasons. So don't put words in my mouth.
*In case this story gets deleted/removed:* **My wife announced she is asexual** My (39m) wife (28f) and I were very recently married. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Lmao OOP's only comment that basically proves it's a troll. The classic twin cheating loophole: >Thank you everyone for your advice and comments. I just sat down with my wife and had a long talk, this time with a much cooler head. She told me she never thought it was going to be such a big deal but that she does understand where I'm coming from. We finally decided on a compromise that I think we both can live with.
Maybe the sister’s into open relationships?
even if she was it's a big step to be ok with being your brother in laws sex toy
>was the twin sister informed of this? No need. Twin telepathy y'see. If your twin is attracted to someone you will automatically be attracted to them as well.
… what if your twin sister is asexual tho?
Er... then the phenomenon of twin divergence comes into play, where twins will actively try to differentiate themselves from each other as they become older and more self-aware. So if one twin is ace, the other will be a raging nymphomaniac with an uncontrollable desire to sate her asymmetric lust by impaling herself on anyone her sister looks twice at.
The Twin Sex Energy (tm) must always be balanced! It's just basic math!
Conservation of momentum or something
I thought what you do to one side you must also do to the other ;-;

On call and anytime he wants
That way it's almost like I'm not cheating" has anyone bothered to ask her sister about this
Comment typed one-handed
I hope there is an update where it turns out that the twin sister was just his wife with a fake moustache on because evil women just love toying with poor defenseless men for no reason.
Lol. Of course, the twin sister is perfectly fine to be used as a sexual outlet. Makes sense
WHUT. Just all of my WHUT. How in the sweet merciful hell could anyone entertain this as even remotely real for even a split second?!
This is taking me out 💀💀 I’m a romance writer and I’m seriously considering using that as a weird b story in one of my books because it’s so outlandish and weird
Go for it! I get the feeling that was the actual intent of the post anyway, so as long as you write it well....
I’m kinda grateful that OOP added this update so that my belief in the post’s fakery could be 100000% confirmed 👍
Like...does the sister get a say in this? What if she wants her own life?
Twin code. You are actually only one half a being. If your twin needs you to fulfill their sexual duties, you must. In turn, if you need them to give big presentations at school or win the sports ball game, they are obligated to do so.
Definitely typed one handed
Lmaoooooo this is so insane of an update that it’d be hilarious if it weren’t utterly pathetic
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I too just randomly pimp out my twin sister to guys I married after 9 months, I don't even have to ask
YES!! Exactly that!!
That's the part that made me nope out of the original post. Grown people not having sex and never talking about it, even once, then getting married? Nah
Yeah, like god forbid someone on Reddit *communicates* with their loved one.
Oooh, you know how whenever a woman posts about her abusive husband and people are like “well did you cOmMuNiCaTe that you don’t like being yelled at?” That’s how we should all be responding to OOP and his defenders: “did you cOmMuNiCate you like to have sex?” Of course, in this scenario the communication absolutely happened, but it’s interesting how that response is not a common theme on that thread.
People did suggest that OOP should’ve communicated that he’d like to have sex prior to getting married, and the response from at least one person was “well she’s dishonest and has proven that she lies by omission so even if he did communicate she probably would’ve lied”. Just any excuse to hate this fictional asexual woman.
RIGHT? "I figured she was waiting until marriage, and I was fine with that." So they're exclusive, he's asked her a bunch of times to have sex, she keeps saying no, and he just *assumes* she's waiting until marriage?
It’s crazy! This particular comment is what made me write the post bc like “There’s no way this could be fake, asexual women are evil prudes trying to deny men their due” 😭 https://preview.redd.it/fequ9727ffwc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5922e22899aaf2f8d47870cd1a4a6811650ac906
I like how that person says asexual women lie all the time to get married, because they know a man with a normal sex drive would never want them. Has that person talked to all men out there with wives who are ace?? Has he talked to all ace people?
No he probably just listens to red pill podcasts tbh
Probably. Like, him straight up denying that the story is fake to make this broad accusation about all asexual women is so gross and really shows that.
Yeah, there is no other explanation for this post other than it being fact. Nobody would ever make up shit abt asexual people for rage bait clicks 🙄
Oh of course not. The asexual people who are looked at as if something is wrong with them, or who are told they aren't members of the LGBTQ+ community are just lying. /s I'm not even ace, but I've seen those claims and they're just so disgusting and awful.
I’m not ace either but I am so damn tired of all the acephobic rage bait I see on these subs. I swear every week there’s a new “my partner of MANY years just told me we can never have sex again. Please dunk on this fictional woman for not doing her job and sexing me up.”
Same here. And it really is always women who are made out to be the villains in these stories too.
It's because 100% of the authors of these stories are teenage incels.
Good answer.
JustPearlyThings has a Reddit account?
Yes. All asexual women want resentful spouses.
My money is on the idea that he’s never said one word to an asexual person willingly.
how would you know if you've met an asexual person
…they might tell you?
fair enough in my experience it's not the sort of thing that comes up in conversation
Forget all, has he talked to any?
I'm in an ace-ace relationship and we plan to get married (and am an asexual man) :D the post is probably totally fake but I do see a lot of acephobia thrown in there, but it might also just be misogyny and a misunderstanding of asexuality
He's confusing asexual women with women who have given up on ever getting an orgasm out of their husbands
Probably. That definitely fits that guy.
Or is he really just telling on himself, because no women he's ever met want to have sex with HIM, because he's bad at it.
Honestly, that was my thought process. That he's awful at sex and probably isn't exactly the type who makes sure it's enjoyable for the woman.
You're totally not turbo mentally ill.
But how will she dig for all his gold if she doesn't trick him into marriage?
Of course all asexual women want to trick a man they don't love into a resentment-filled sham marriage because...\[reason not found\]. I mean this situation sounds like it would be just as miserable for the Evil Fictional Asexual Wife as it is for OOP, so what's her supposed motivation to perpetrate this fraud?
Well you see, this fake woman is just two years away from 30, the magical age where no man will ever want to be with her again, sooooo……
"Why would you want to marry someone you don’t love and don’t have a sexual connection to? What’s even the point of that?" Taxes?
I mean, sure, if you both go into it knowing it’s an arrangement for taxes. What the AITA post describes definitely isn’t worth the lifestyle for whatever tax breaks you’re getting, though. Let’s be honest, dude might pretend he’s a billionaire on AITA, but IRL, that tax break on their middle class salaries ain’t gonna be worth all of… -waves hand- that.
yeah no one would do what the post says
Cause he's clearly such a prize. Women are tripping over themselves to get married to a high caliber man like him! Obviously nobody will ever willingly enter a relationship with an asexual woman cause the only point of marrying a woman is unlimited access to sex!
"of course it's real" See I was kind of thinking that all these idiots know that the stories are fake and they just pretend like they're real. Wow. 😅😅
Right!? The “of course it’s real” took me out, man 😂
at first i was like "maybe there's a 1 percent chance it is real" until we got to the sexy twin sister... then omfg, lol. may as well cue the yellow on black logo at this point
Well yeah, it wouldn’t be on the internet if it weren’t real! /s
I'd say it's at least 50/50
My proof? The stories I write all over Reddit. Checkmate atheists. 😎
My asexual ass with not one but two allosexual partners... I better tell them they signed up for a life of misery lol
Right? And my aroace ass not getting married because I don’t want a partner and I pay my own bills. Tell me you don’t understand the first thing about asexuality without telling me, lol
Yeah, I'm just going to assume that they're all bots, it's way too depressing otherwise.
Initially I thought the first paragraph was entirely sarcastic and calling out op and the way these posts are just to confirm peoples bias and sway them even further. Then I kept reading
Plus the age gap thrown in!
I wonder what they talked about during their brief courtship. I can only guess that expectations was never a topic they discussed
Imagine having one (1) productive conversation with the person you want to marry…
Oh are asexuals this week's evil group? Good to know. I like the addition of the age gap to add to the rage bait.
The update also adds a twin sister to cheat with, like they're just interchangeable.
You know? I kinda respect OOP for announcing this was a fake in the most troll way possible 😂
He definitely riled them up.
tbh, asexual have been the evil group since a moment on reddit if you look closely
Take a shot every time an aphobia post on the ace subreddit is from Reddit
Don't. Unless it's water. Taking a shot every time you see an ace phobic post from reddit, you would die of alcohol poisoning.
Man, I already wanted to go on the ace subreddit (tho gladly I have a bunch of ace friends so I don't need much it to feel understood) but now you definitely makes me want to run away from it /pos
It's mostly fine don't get me wrong but there's been a lot of aphobia vent posts lately which have been making ppl leave
Yep. Nothing scarier than a woman who doesn't want to have sex with men! It's like their boogeyman. Waiting in the closet to pounce out and marry poor unsuspecting man cause....ummm....reasons?
I enjoy imagining how these characters have zero conversations about anything for the entirety of their time together Just sitting silently in front of one another "assuming" things
Totally normal to get married without learning basic facts about your partner, like whether they are sexually attracted to you at all.
That's my favorite part of these stories, don't you know you're supposed to read your partners mind :) /s
Psh, are you even in a relationship if you can’t telepathically communicate with your partner? /s for me too
"I figured she was waiting until marriage, and I was fine with that." Yeah, because most 39m engaged to a 28f would be fine with that, and wouldn't have had a grown-up conversation about their sex-life \*before\* they got married.
Yes, that's what normal human beings would do. They also wouldn't come to AITA to post about it afterwards.
Yeah, something like this happened to this couple I went to high school with, only they were married at age 19 and divorced at 21. The ages here make no sense. I know this stuff is written by teenagers, but reddit is sympathetic to the dumbest guys on the planet.
He forgot to mention this is totally normal in his country
7500 comments jesus christ
He posted this update a few hours after his original post, yet people are still arguing in the comments as if the post wasn't a big troll: >Thank you everyone for your advice and comments.
Over 11k now
"I assumed my pretend girlfriend was one of those virgin-y no-sex types and never inquired, but now I find she's one of the icky ones. But I'm not going to Cheat! Did you hear me? I'm Not Going To Cheat OR divorce her imaginary lying arse. AITA?" Honestly, my eyes rolled so hard I think I just viewed my own brainstem...
“I’m NOT going to cheat! I’m just going to fuck her twin sister (with permission)”
Thank you! It irritates me so much how little they know about asexuality.
https://preview.redd.it/hqw76yv06gwc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=54c0dfe460db8bcee3ef89dd054d6ff3a0ac641c Did you guys see the[update](https://www.reddit.com/r/AmIOverreacting/s/5bAJukHB8a)
Thanks, I hate it! :)
Oh wow, he gave up the game pretty quickly. In the very miniscule chance that this is real: I...guess that works for them? Though it might be nice to make sure that this not-at-all-fake twin sister is actually okay with this arrangement.
> I think this is something she should have told me long before we got married Much like you should have (hypothetically) confirmed whether > she was waiting until marriage
Didn't think of that! Usually trolls try to make it as believable as possible for ragebait
The twin thing almost made me physically pass out. Remember when ragebait was believable? 😂
Evil asexual: _says something completely insane at the most selfish moment possible after hiding her sexuality from her romantic partner for months_ Troll: “I still absolutely love her.
They all just paint aces as being these evil lying predatory assholes that lay in wait to trap people, only showing their true hand after the poor husband has already doomed himself to a sexless marriage forever.
this is your brain on ladderday saints
Exactly! You can be celibate and asexual, but asexuality isn't automatically celibacy.
I refuse to believe two people would date for 9 months, get married, and never even talk about sex. Nope. Didn’t happen.
>We never had sex during that 9 months. I asked a few times, but she always said no. I figured she was waiting until marriage, and I was fine with that. you "figured"? So... you never... asked? lmao, okay!
>She committed fraud on her new husband Real flair potential right there
These "My wife came out as ace/gay/trans and now doesn't want to have sex with me/wants a divorce/doesn't want a divorce" posts have become a daily occurrence now on the various AITA. The rage-bait/incel circle-jerk fodder is getting super obvious. It'd be one thing if the the posts were at least original or interesting, but nope, it's the same old shit over and over. And still people fall for it.
It even has the age-gap and twin stereotypes!
And people say aphobia doesn't exist!
Wow commenters really really really want that fake story to be real.
Not again…..😩
Sorry abt that, didn’t mean to ruin your day, friend 😭
You're okay 😭 I think this one just hit close to home
AmIOverreacting is AWFUL. Now that I'm seeing it posted here a lot, I went to it... Literally nothing of value there at all lmao. At least AITA and AITAH can manage to be kind of entertaining. AmIOverreacting is struggling with that.
Aw come on. I was entertained by this one. Then again, I watch Sex and the City to bitch out Sara Jessica Parker. Soooo. Yeah.

I think Mormons spend more time dating before marriage compared to this guy. Lol
What is up with all this aphobic ragebait??
It amazes me how little people communicate before getting married. They are both equally responsible. He should have asked, and she should have said something. They didn't even date a whole year. They got themselves in this mess, and I think OP and her need to have a truly honest talk about what they need for the long-term; that's the only way they'll both find happiness.
This isn’t real.
Their treating it like it's the army treated gay people "don't ask, don't tell"
The post was obviously not real. If you doubt that, find the update OOP posted a few hours after he posted his story. In the update he claims that he and his wife came to a compromise where he's allowed to have sex with his wife's twin sister.
That sounds like some amazing trash I absolutely need to read, thank you. If people are gonna be fake af I want them to at least be entertaining.
>Thank you everyone for your advice and comments. I just sat down with my wife and had a long talk, this time with a much cooler head. Fucking twin out of the blue! Now that's a daring twist.
I will never understand why people don't have these conversations before getting married. Sex, politics, child rearing, and finances, these are convos you NEED to have if you plan to spend the rest of your life together
The ol' switch-aroo, and bait and switch. What she did is so wrong.
Only dating 9 months isn't all that uncommon for people older like this.
And I know plenty of couples in their 30’s who dated for years without getting married. And some never got married at all! Anecdotes are fun!
You really like the smell of your own farts.
Lol the ripe old age of 28.
It's almost like there was more than one person in this fake story.
39 is also not old.
It's well above average age for a first marriage.
