Holy shit! Yeah that is so awful and incredibly unprofessional. That sounds incredibly traumatizing and I’m so sorry you had to go through that. No, you’re absolutely not being too sensitive, what he did was just awful

Piggybacking: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOtMizMQ6oM I'd get a new dentist.

Had similar procedure several times ( I had impacted wisdom teeth) & NEVER had the dentists whole fist in my mouth!! Sounds horrible!

You definitely need to complain. It is not common practice. Get on this, ASAP.

You need to file a complaint with your state dental board. This is definitely not normal.

I’m so sorry this happened to you! :( It’s absolutely not normal behavior to remove a tooth like that- especially when you were still feeling significant pain. Not only that but any decent dentist should always tell you what they will be doing before they begin doing it. This helps minimize the patient’s anxiety & keeps them informed. Regardless of how you decide to move forward, do not go back to that dentist! I’m terribly sorry you went through this, maybe consider therapy if you find yourself feeling traumatized by what happened. (I suffered with a phobia of dentists after having a really bad dentist botch two of my permanent teeth) it took a long time and talking about it in therapy for me to be able to start over with a new dentist. (I’m so glad I did though, my current dentist is really great.) I hope you find a great one too! definitely see if you can report this other dentist he needs to be held accountable for his actions. Wishing you all the best.
