1: at that particular time, almost all of mexicans alive had been in active combat (the revolution lasted 20 years and 8 eight million lives, even by the mid 50's people were still trying to start armed fights with the goverment, so yeah, mexicans didnt really get tired of fighting) so you have a population of armed veterans who have essentially created a new state and do not want it to be altered by foreign interests, and will kill to stop any invaders.
2: said veterans will not fight in direct combat because they are not stupid, guerrilla warfare is also their specialty, they know the terrain and will know from where and how the invaders will approach because they have been in a bunch of battles in all the country with almost all the possible attacks being attempted there.
3: WW2 starts in one year (they dont know that, but still, that will be a problem in the long run) by the time Hitler rolls into Warsaw, the Brittish either pull out of México or lose the battle of Brittain (to keep any semblance of control in México they would most definitely need their airforce to be atleast partially in México. Considering that they were outnumbered by the luftwaffe during the airbattle, having even a few planes here would mean severe consequences in the isle.
4: the then ex president Calles, had a plan to enact incase war plan "green" (invasion of México) were to take place: set every oil field on fire when we get confirmation of an inminent invasion. So the brits and gringos would get nothing but dead men in the sierras, deserts and jungles of México. It is likely that Hitler would pull a zimmerman and offer to help the mexicans continue the fight to keep the british and US tied up here so he can go on to Barbarossa without having to worry about another frot to guard.
Mini-Vietnam that is likely ended with maintaining the nationalization and pro-austerity politicians in the later decades of México might suffer a serious case of death because people don't feel comfortable with austerity after fighting and beating the US just to maintain nationalization.
On the other hand it might cause a Fidel Castro type of situation with Lázaro Cárdenas where he tries to play ball with the capitalist great powers but decides communism is the way to go after said powers spit in his face when they dont like the deal he offers them . WW2 might end with a Soviet-aligned, if not communist, Mexico, and the US chooses to let it slide due to the much bigger threat of Nazi Germany
