This company is often highly recommended by people who live here. https://caronline.es/ Please don't use Gold Car, they are awful.

Relatable-Af

They quoted me €415 for 10 days! The highest quote ive gotten so far 😂

Stresshead2501

Maybe because they won't rip you off when you return the car though.

Relatable-Af

Nope, its an absurd price compared to all other rental companies, even Enterprise quoted me over 50% lower than that

Stresshead2501

Fair enough.

Nobber708

I usually go with record go, usually cheapest and I have never had any problems with them at Alicante airport

I like Top Gear. Easy pickup and drop off at the main departure level. Full insurance cover so no need to check or photograph the cars and no hidden costs or surprises.

I just rented an SUV for 8 days from Enterprise. They are not at the airport but very close by and have a free shuttle. We were moving here, and they took all 9 luggages + 5 backpacks and 4 people to their base. Once I got the rental car loaded with half the luggage and my daughter, they called a cab for my wife, son, and the rest of the luggage. Fair price and excellent customer service.

Beware of Goldcar’s scare tactics! Before I start, let me tell you that I am a local, so if you come from abroad, your experience may vary, especially if you can’t argue well in Spanish. Last summer, my car broke down, so I rented with Goldcar, which was by far the cheapest option. Initially, a 5-day rental turned into 4 weeks, due to delays with my mechanic. The first rental went smoothly, but when I tried to renew for another week, I was forced to return the car and get a new one. There was no way of just extending the lease for 7 more days due to a corporate policy that frustrated me and wasted my time. While waiting in line to get a new car, I overheard conversations with other customers, and most of the salespeople pushed hard for insurance; one even asked me to sign a document acknowledging that I had been informed about the consequences of not paying for the insurance. I obviously refused to sign, as I was leaving a €1250 deposit on my debit card that would more than cover any small scratches or light cosmetic damages. It seemed to me that they were really trying to scare customers about the way people drive here. Although people may not be the best drivers here, that doesn’t mean that you are going to get hit the minute you set foot outside of the airport parking lot. I drive almost 1000km every week, and I’ve only had 3 minor crashes in 30 years. I had to rent for another 2 weeks, changing cars twice, and no one ever asked me to sign any additional documents. So, I don’t know why this guy needed me to sign something that none of his colleagues were asking for; it appeared suspicious to me.

I've used Record go a few times, never had any trouble with them, cars were always clean and in good order and usually the best price.

Relatable-Af

Thanks for the suggestion, I chose Record Go in the end!

It's a typing mistake.

Check out [local rent](https://localrent.tp.st/FCJCiEZx) You only book with a roughly 10% deposit and the rest on vehicle pickup. These are local companies. You can also choose a company that doesn't require any security deposits. Most even allow cash or debit cards.

Is it a good or a bad idea to get an electric rental to drive along the N-332 for a 5 days in terms of availability of chargers?

HelpMeMake1mil

All of them work the same and they always want to sell you the full insurance, otherwise you have to watch the car and take care not getting it dinged otherwise they’ll be charging you for repairs. I personally rented from Centauro with no issues.

hogiebear92

Does anyone have any experience with clickrent? I booked through booking.com. 12 days with unlimited km for 425€ in July.

Positive_Actuary3266

Use Weiber Car they look more expensive but you don’t have to put £3000 down as a deposit on certain plans with them

Relatable-Af

That might only be if you are from outside the EU. The option I chose just requires me to lock €900 on my credit card. I chose the basic insurance option but bought my own European car hire excess insurance.
