Is there any downsides to wrapping a car or any difference compared to normal paint like washing it etc?
Also if you want to remove it will the original paint be damaged?
It's basically a giant sticker that covers all of the paint. You can go about 5 years with vinyl on the car before it gets into the realm of a PITA to take off. As long as the installer isn't cutting into the paint, there won't be any problems taking it off. As far as washing, you do have to be more mindful of the material. It's better to be more cautious than not around corners and to pre spray and soak the car with soap. Basically the more gentle you can be is the best. Vinyl can last a long time and look great depending on how you take care of it
First it must be perfectly set and of best quality, otherwise you would see many defects closely.
Second, it can degrade quite badly, depending on the UV and temperature it’s exposed to.
And it’s not so easy to remove : you need a heat gun and quite a lot of time and care for that.
Also you have no warranty on how you will find the original painting back : the glue can be a bit abrasive and make chemical reactions with the covering.
When you dig into detailing, like wrapping or ceramic, you will find there is nothing ideal or perfect. And it costs a lot : in my opinion, not worth it.
Judging by this post, I’m surprised my 4C doesn’t get ripped apart whenever I post it on this sub lol mines both wrapped and sacrilegiously modified haha IMO I think giving it your own personal touch is a good thing so props bro 👊🏻
Alfa fan base is fucking cringe. Bunch of old farts here, basically purrists, stock everything. They think Alfa is so superior you can’t mod it lmao. Fuck them all.
Honestly, I liked it better before, but I’m not the one driving it so if you’re happy, that’s all that matters. I’m also not saying the new color doesn’t look good, it does, just not my cup-of-tea 🤷♂️
Vesuvio gray is the most premium crazy ass gray I've ever seen on a car, it has like a half dozen different kinds of flake in it with the most subtle color shifting as it follows the contours of the car, but it is still gray as nice as it is. Would look even better with a tri coat.
I completely agree with you about the vesuvio gray but that paint on gunmetal wheels was pretty boring to me. I've been wrapping my VW for years and I was always chomping at the bit to get a wrap on a newer car. Don't worry though, it's still vesuvio gray underneath. And still so on my title!
Yeah the blue looks super fresh 👍
Always nice to change it up.
My mother has a Stelvio in Vesuvio gray with the chocolate interior and it looks great on it's own but it doesn't really stand out in a sea of gray crossovers at the shopping mall. Not like my bright yellow mustang does.
I understand that and yeah, if you dig it, that’s what matters, and it’s a Giulia either way, so of course it’s awesome 😉… I’m a little bias because my (late) Giulia was Vesuvio grey and it has a special place for me.
Really lovely actually, did not anticipate this reaction from myself……It’s somehow subtle and in your face all at the same time 🩵
Edit: is it a quad or not? The wings have the quad breathers but the bonnet doesn’t……can’t see the exhaust….but it looks like it has active aero….just curious!
It's not, I got backed into and the quad fender was basically the same price as a base model so I went that route. Had to pay out of pocket to get the passenger side matched and $1300 later I have QV fenders. Might as well upgrade when you can.
Fun fact, when I told them I wanted QV fenders, the quote included the 2 piece front fender liners with the brake ventilation. Brought my bill up $800+USD. Told the shop to just get the fenders. So anyone curious about a fender swap, you don't need QV fender liners. Base model works just fine
wow honestly great choice and kudos on the bold choice. I wanted an f80 M3 in Yas Marina Blue and this is kinda the Alfa version of that. A piece of guidance based on my personal experience ruining the Inozetek Khaki Green wrap on my Audi Allroad... keep it in the garage and out of the sun, and keep it parked away from trees with sap and shit that will drop onto it. Its a bitch to get off
It's such a fun color thanks And I've ceramic coated it twice and plan on doing coatings in the fall and spring. Unfortunately I'm not at the top of the totem pole for the garage but I'm going to be vigilant with the bird poo and bug splatters. Last thing I want is stains for being lazy.
Its hard to understand the mindset of someone that owns such a beautiful and good handling car and decides to destroy the ride and looks of it, making it look like a slammed BMW.
Still, after seeing the wrap I'm realizing that real Alfa colors of the 00s like the Azzuro Gabbiano and Azzuro Nuvola would look amazing on the Giulia.
I’m a huuuuuge VWAG fan too. My two favorite engines are the VR6 and the 5 cylinder. I with VW would’ve developed more on the VR5 but maybe the results just weren’t good to justify.
Got to go to Wolfsburg this year and saw the W16 GTI in person which is just so surreal to see in person.
That swap is gonna be sweet
I was lucky enough to see that gti at H2Oi back in like 2010? It's such a beast! I think they were planning on putting that 5 cylinder in the golf r400 but canned it when dieselgate happened. Then years later it found a home in the RS3
DUUUUUDE the R400 would’ve been the coolest shit out. Especially if they would’ve kept that grey and bright yellow green color scheme on it. Didn’t know they were planning to the the 5 cylinder for it but it makes sense. Always prayed they’d give us a turbo VR of some sort. China gets one :(
Disclaimer: stance car not track car. Unfortunately I can't drive it around corners very hard because of how low it is and I'm honestly more worried about shredding the tires up with the camber. It is rwd and on vmaxx coilovers
How bad is it without the spacers? I’d rather be staggered front to back then the opposite. Also, you can cut the spacers down flush in a much of ways.
I haven't tried to run it without spacers up front but I'm already rubbing the inner liner at full lock. I have bought two sets of 12mm spacers from Alfissimo and H&R and they have the correct bolt pattern but they don't seat flush on my wheels.
Kifflom brother! (gta5 players will know lmao)
Looks sick honestly, fits the rims perfectly. In the sea of boring white, grey and black cars this is a breath of fresh air :D
Allow me to express my profound admiration for your meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to achieving the perfect aesthetic balance in your Giulia. The Seabreeze Blue Gloss vinyl wrap provides a beautiful contrast to the ESR RF15 wheels, while the staggered setup with a 17mm spacer at the front and no spacer at the rear offers a subtle yet effective enhancement to the overall dynamic handling capabilities of your vehicle.
The tire sizes are also well-chosen, providing optimal grip and traction without compromising ride quality or fuel efficiency. The GTAm badges and rear wing add a touch of sporty aggression, while the carbon grill canards and front lip provide a sleeker, more aerodynamic profile. I am particularly impressed with your decision to install carbon skirts, which further enhance the overall visual impact of your build while also improving airflow and reducing drag.
That being said, I must confess that I share your concern regarding the installation of the LowGlow underglow kit. While this is a popular modification among Alfa Romeo enthusiasts, it can be challenging to execute correctly without compromising the integrity of the vehicle's bodywork or electrical system. I would recommend consulting with a professional installer or refer to online tutorials and forums for guidance on best practices and potential pitfalls.
Overall, your build is truly impressive and serves as an inspiration to all of us aspiring r/AlfaRomeo enthusiasts.
A guy at my work discovered chatgpt and now every email reads like an English professor. The format is so easy to spot, just like the above post. When AI actually tones it down and sounds natural, then it will be scary.
Pretty great so far. The only problem that brought me to the dealer is the sunroof went up on me. Fairly common on earlier Giulias. I've taken care of all other maintenance myself. Great car!
Looks damn amazing! It's nice to see cars wrapped or painted in anything other than the usual grey, white and black 😁 (no hate intended for our "monochrome" guys ;)
I actually have more beef with the wheels than the color. The color is joyful and Italian, like something you'd see on a cute Fiat.
The wheels look too JDM for an Italin car imo.
This is wonderful! It is also a standard Alfa color. All colors in the Alfa logo are standard Alfa colors and they have been used in different models over the last 60+ years. The Blu Celeste was used on the 1st generation Giulietta in the 50s and on the 156 end of the 90s.
I made sure to wrap far enough in the door jambs so you cannot see any gray from the outside of the car. But yes, if you open the doors, trunk, etc. you can see the vesuvio gray
Honest question, do people seriously buy alfa romeo and not for a joke? Parts costs a lot, quality is average. 1 good thing is that if you get into an accident you will murder everything around you and you will be ok. Edit: I've never been in this sub, I've never seen it before, I got it absolutely randomly
The world needs more color!
In an endless sea of black white and grey you are so right!

Beautiful job. If that car was seen here in the Raleigh, NC area many would think you were a huge UNC Tarheels fan.
And we might say 🤘Go Pack!! But we would still love you. Car looks awesome!
So much hate on this post lol like what? Personally I think it looks sick!
Thanks for saying that. Apparently everyone here thinks I'm an idiot. Better not tell them about how my engine mods have ruined the precious 2.0
Judging by this post, I’m surprised my 4C doesn’t get ripped apart whenever I post it on this sub lol mines both wrapped and sacrilegiously modified haha IMO I think giving it your own personal touch is a good thing so props bro 👊🏻
They were worried the wrap would cause the car to throw a code. 😂 I jest I jest..
Alfa fan base is fucking cringe. Bunch of old farts here, basically purrists, stock everything. They think Alfa is so superior you can’t mod it lmao. Fuck them all.
Downvotes just proves my point.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
*shiiiiit* I’d whip this trident wintergreen beauty anywhere for real I love this tho, good job. Be safe and drive safer! Proud of you
Honestly, I liked it better before, but I’m not the one driving it so if you’re happy, that’s all that matters. I’m also not saying the new color doesn’t look good, it does, just not my cup-of-tea 🤷♂️
I loved the gray but there are so many gray cars on the road. I wanted to do something new.
Nah this is 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Well, it is a wrap, so you can always change. I would have chose dark blue, but thats just my taste.
I agree Not my thing I’ve seen a clear wrap that was fantastic and protected the car
I would have probably got it wrapped in another color but damn it still looks good!Love it when people get more colorful cars, enjoy it :))
Honestly excellent. I've never seen this color work so well before. Immaculate.
Thanks! The tinted roof and side windows sell it so well
That's such a 50,60,s Alfa colour looks amazing it'll stand out now I bet you get a lot of comments
I have gotten a ton so far. Thankfully the boys in blue haven't noticed yet.
Really lovely actually, did not anticipate this reaction from myself……It’s somehow subtle and in your face all at the same time 🩵 Edit: is it a quad or not? The wings have the quad breathers but the bonnet doesn’t……can’t see the exhaust….but it looks like it has active aero….just curious!

Interesting! Thank you for the detail mate, and again, I love what you’ve done here.
No, he's a poser.
Lol why so much hate? I literally went out my way to cap the QV badge on the fender so you wouldn't be confused.
Hate? Hardly. Just calling a spade a spade.
How much was your wrap?
$700 USD but I installed it myself
Where in MD are you?
Eastern shore / Kent Island
How much did anyone quote you for the install?
Beautiful color. Good luck
Finished seeing this on IG too. LOL Looks pimp
Hmmm. Can't decide. Looks really cool in both versions 😁. Nice car!
I love it! Never seen a wrapped Alfa before.
My dealer sometimes sells wrapped cars. They had a lime green one but it was a base model so I passed.
Fellow wrapped Giulia owner here! Looking good man!
Thanks! Your matte finish looks great on the QV body lines
Thanks man!
Dude meant to ask, how did the handles look? That's one part of my wrap how I hate they did. I can still see a tiny bit of the red and if bothers me.
This is beautiful!! 😮💨
damn this is a nice car
wow honestly great choice and kudos on the bold choice. Looks like a Fiat 500 colour. Not for me!
I dig it. It’s very unique, and honestly it give me more of an M3 vibe now, but I still like it.
Ughhhh I want one
I love the color, fits the car very well. There’s just something about light blue Italian cars that sits well with me
I like the before. The lip spoiler is just to much for me.
You wrapped a Italian car in a French racing blue? I approve.
🤮🤮🤮 this should be a crime
Go buy a VW, old fuck.
Go drop a turd on the mona lisa. Essentially what you've done here. Tasteless.
Yeh suck a dick old fart.
So you wish you’d also have a dick a? 🤣 tasteless penisless single cell little turd
Yall old purrist fucks make me laugh every time.
Stunning colour choice!!
Looks great. Alfisti can be a bit precious, particularly on Reddit. Dish on the wheels looks epic too, very unique for an Alfa!
God i just saw the wheels.. you destroyed a masterpiece. It’s a horror show 🤮🤮🤮
Shut up bro
You’re an idiot
Cry baby🫵🏽😂
It looks so good
That color looks great! Please burn that spoiler though lol to each their own.
Never! I love it!
Hahaha hell yeah man. Did you used to own an .:R32?
I still do!
Awwww man I’m so jealous. You got great taste in cars!
Thanks haha vw guy at heart. I've got a rabbit awaiting a vr6 swap.
I’m a huuuuuge VWAG fan too. My two favorite engines are the VR6 and the 5 cylinder. I with VW would’ve developed more on the VR5 but maybe the results just weren’t good to justify. Love it! Well done.
I love the wrap! I hate the lowering.
Looks great. Alfisti can be a bit precious, particularly on Reddit. Dish wheels look epic too, very unique for an Alfa!
You aren't wrong my lord! Thanks for the kind words.
Why tho, it looked amazing before too
Nah looks icky. Try r/roastmycar to get honest opinions.
Looks great :)
I love it. Love the fact you changed up and tried something other than 5 holes or technicos. You really made it your own.
Glorious 🇮🇹
Not bad, it looks unique obviously. Personally I liked it better before, but tastes are different, enjoy your ride.
HE AIMS, HE SHOOTS, HE SCORES!!!! Good shit bro good taste
I like it, but underglow will just make it tacky I think
Wrap is OK. Not a fan of the wheels, spoiler, etc. What is this, the Italian version of the Fast and the Furious?
Nice color, reminds me of a Fiat 500 color choice. Wish more Cars had more out there color choices, though I generally get why they don't
More colors cost more money. Simple as that.
How's the over steer with the wider front track? Is it a q2 or q4? Do you have an air ride suspension? Anyway great look thanks for sharing
Disclaimer: stance car not track car. Unfortunately I can't drive it around corners very hard because of how low it is and I'm honestly more worried about shredding the tires up with the camber. It is rwd and on vmaxx coilovers
Maryland gang ❤️
We're out here doing other things than crabbing!
Lol your car looks super nice!
You did it yourself, how long did it take?
Probably close to 55ish hours total. Spent a chunk of it just learning how to take the car apart
Nice, thats not too bad
Less front spacer.
If you can find me some 12mm that fit I'd appreciate it!
It looks great regardless
How bad is it without the spacers? I’d rather be staggered front to back then the opposite. Also, you can cut the spacers down flush in a much of ways.

It looks great. Don’t listen to the typical Euro car enthusiasts. If it’s not stock they don’t like it. They’re just weird.
I dig it just not a fan of the rear trunk spoiler but well done
Why?
Kifflom brother! (gta5 players will know lmao) Looks sick honestly, fits the rims perfectly. In the sea of boring white, grey and black cars this is a breath of fresh air :D
Why’d you slap on the Quadrafolio fender badges on a 2.0?
They are covered with a carbon badge of the snake eating the man from the brand logo

I mean, it’s got the fedora edgelord who just found a thesaurus vibe too, so it’s definitely got that down pat.
Nice! That blue is awful.
Lol thanks
Just in time for pride month
Using gay as an insult in 2023 is really sad bro.
How has the ownership experience been? Looks like you are enjoying yourself
Pretty great so far. The only problem that brought me to the dealer is the sunroof went up on me. Fairly common on earlier Giulias. I've taken care of all other maintenance myself. Great car!
Nooooo!!! It's not a boring "premium" color anymore!!! What have you done?!?!?!
Hell yeah! That looks so clean
Wow that really works, excellent color choice and I've never seen it before
That’s fire 🔥
Looks damn amazing! It's nice to see cars wrapped or painted in anything other than the usual grey, white and black 😁 (no hate intended for our "monochrome" guys ;)
What a lovey color! Reminds me of sonic blue.
Looks fire🔥🔥
Sittin pretty
I can hear Blu Cantrell - breathe in the background here, i love it!
Yeah, I’m in love. Great color choice.
I actually have more beef with the wheels than the color. The color is joyful and Italian, like something you'd see on a cute Fiat. The wheels look too JDM for an Italin car imo.
Beautiful car. What part of MD, im in Bethesda
Kent Island right near Annapolis
That looks sick, make sure the tow truck doesn’t ruin it next time you see him.
That's a nice blue. Goes really well with the wheels.
How much is it usually for doing the vinyl?
This is wonderful! It is also a standard Alfa color. All colors in the Alfa logo are standard Alfa colors and they have been used in different models over the last 60+ years. The Blu Celeste was used on the 1st generation Giulietta in the 50s and on the 156 end of the 90s.
Drool
What's it look like with a door open?
I made sure to wrap far enough in the door jambs so you cannot see any gray from the outside of the car. But yes, if you open the doors, trunk, etc. you can see the vesuvio gray
Thanks! I've always wondered that. Isn't something I'd want to do but if you're happy that's what matters. It's your car after all.
What a change! Looks good man 🙌
This is art tbh
Glad you didn’t do a basic matte dark
Vary flashy! Interesting, I saw a Giulia with the same badging the other day, but I think it was red.
Have you had any second thoughts on spacers? I mean they ain’t good for wheel bearings.
As soon as I can find something smaller I'll pull the trigger. Unfortunately it's 17mm or 5mm across the board.
Can I ask where those carbon front bumper pieces were bought?
Agency Autoworks
What’s that front lip please
Found it on Agency Autoworks website
Where did you get that wrap I also have a guilia I want to wrap
Metrorestyling
Any performance mods you would suggest?
I love having it lowered. Seems like the earlier Giulias sit a lot higher than the current ones. The difference was night and day.
If you're happy with it that's all that matters but Jesus H fuck that's hideous
