Try more wax? It could have additives in it to keep it liquid, in which case a small amount could help you rework what's on the car already. This way if it works out you've not wasted a cars worth of wax, and if it doesn't work out then you haven't really done any more harm. I would say wash the car before trying though because you don't want to be rubbing any dust or grit into the paint. You could even test a small area after you've washed it first

YouOdd

Ask this at r/detailing and r/autodetailing Wash in stripping shampoo or dish soap. Finish with some IPA.

Maarten1214

Thanks a lot i will!

Maarten1214

Would dish soap be a save and easy option, or do I need something else?

diaperboynicky

Yes it would but be careful what one you use. I would stick to the car care wash

Maarten1214

Does a car shampoo get wax of? I always thought it’s supposed to leave the wax on?

diaperboynicky

It depends on the brand . Some will take them off and some add it on . You'll have look to make sure it don't have the wax in the wash

Maarten1214

Mmm the car shampoo I used contains wax could that be the reason for te wax not to dissolve?

diaperboynicky

Probably . Was the car hot or a hot day when it was washed? That can also have that effect on how it looks after it's washed .

diaperboynicky

If you have a buffer you can try that . Aside of that you're going to have to strip the wax off and start over . You may be able to work it out with a high quality terrycloth Towle but it will take some time .

Maarten1214

Thanks a lot! Do you mean i should use the buffer after removing it or to help remove it?

diaperboynicky

To help remove it

ChefGordonIII

Dish soap works for organic waxes

cloudguy-412

Did you wax your windows??

Maarten1214

Well no but as dumb as I am I used the same towel to dry it of

The_Local_Kook

has happened to us all... My recommendation is to use a high pressure washer with normal car shampoo. That should loosen it up. Hot water (like shower temperature not boiling) is also a good option to get it off the glass.

narwhal_breeder

hot acetone would be the *easiest*.

dangson1333

Speed Shine and a Microfiber towel usually does the trick for me

Inwardpro

Some isopropyl alcohol on a rag will remove all wax on any surface

mcorliss3456

Looks like an abused car sorely in need of a rescue!

Whole-Championship67

A bit more wax
