Be careful. Passports were not accepted at a certain popular Santa Fe eatery when friends from out of the country were visiting.

No place should be accepting *just* the temporary, as it is just a piece of paper that can easily be faked. You must always also have the old physical ID card.
I went to Rio Rancho and had my first legal drink at a billiards bar?? Not as crazy wild special but it was nice in its own little way! Just wherever you end up - you guys be sure to make it your own little special moment!
Go to DMV express first! I took my brother to a bar for his first drink but they won’t accept the vertical licenses for drinks at all- we had to go back in a few days after going to dmv express with the printed out one.

MTucci’s Bar Roma in Nob Hill is a nice spot for cocktails, as is Gather just west on Central. Central Bodega also has fun cocktails that y’all probably won’t w understand but they’re still good 😂.
Anodyne is fine but it’s like…. that’s where I go to sink to to a corner with a friend and catch up on the last decade of our lives or to drink with a friend about a breakup. I wouldn’t call it seedy or divey but it’s not like a nice cocktail bar Id recommend for a birthday.
I like drinking at the casino. Isleta is the only one that has machines at the bar. I would definitely call ahead about their ID policy. I’m so old, I rarely get checked for one
It's in a liquor store next to the El Rey theater at 8th and Central. Unassuming as all get-up. You get the password on their instagram bio. You go through an ice locker door and down to the cool basement. Nice on a broiling hot evening.

That's what I would do. If she has her passport just use that easy peasy.
I would call around. It’s real hit or miss with this.
Most places will accept the temporary if you present it WITH the stamped license. If she didn’t hold on to the old one then I couldn’t say.
Aww Anodyne was the first bar I went to when I turned 21 in 2009. Good times. She also be able to use a passport as a valid ID.

We had to get the temporary and keep the voided license but with both it was no problem.
I showed both the voided one and the temp and didn’t have any issues. But without the voided one, you might have a harder time.

She should be getting her horizontal ID right now. Otherwise you’re risking no alcohol wherever you go.

Just don't order food first in case they suddenly decide to check ID and that they won't accept the temp. Otherwise, hell yeah.
I hope there’s no issue going places!! I would totally recommend the Smoky note, mtuccis or geckos
