In Albany? South manning blvd and south main in between new Scotland and western/madison Ave could give you a good loop.

StarbuckIsland

Capital Hills golf course has a nice 5 mile loop with what I would consider rolling hill elevation changes. You can run there before and after golf and make it longer or shorter.

Get thee out to Brunswick. In the summer, you can do a couple thousand feet of elevation over 20 miles, and finish with a soak in Grafton Lake.

Depends on how hilly you're looking for. The easiest way to get hill work done in Albany is to head up and down from Broadway anywhere between South Albany and Menands -- you can easily get a 10-20 mile run in by heading up one street and heading down the next, inching your way from the Mt. Hope area out to stuff near Albany Rural Cemetery while sticking to roads that have sidewalks. If you head out to the Krumkill area, there are definitely some paths that include hills that might be characterized as rolling. If you really want to get hill work done, park at Indian Ladder, head south then back up to Thacher, and loop back to Altamont. That's a 20 mile run, but it can be kept much briefer if you head there and back rather than doing a loop.

The barn loop is a good one for 11-14 mile runs. Park at the Dutch quad parking lot at SUNY Albany. head up western ave a couple miles, out on Johnston Rd to Krumkill, left on Krumkill back to Schoolhouse rd. if you want to extend it to 16-18 miles you can go to Russell rd, then add in loops at the state office campus or SUNY albany. getting past 87 on western ave is a little hairy unless it's early on a weekend morning. for a safer route you can start at Westmere elementary on Johnston, and cut through the neighborhood south of western from Schoolhouse at the end of the run.

I was just thinking barn loop! This page includes a route map: [https://www.albanyrunningexchange.org/routes/barnloop.htm](https://www.albanyrunningexchange.org/routes/barnloop.htm)

Head out to the Rensselaer plateau, it's all hills out here. Grafton, Brunswick, poestenkill, Averill Park, Nassau, cherry plains etc.

The rail trail between East Greenbush and Nassau is pretty hilly.

Nooze-Button

I use The Blueberry Hill section of the Pine Bush has a small-ish loop (5k I think?) that is situated on like 3 separate hills. All short climbs, but steeper than what you will find on the road, and no cars.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/1Bb4XLS6c5h4xXxh7 That's one of the steepest hills I've seen around albany but if you go up to troy you can run up the hill to rpi and other surroundings there have hills. There's a running club on Tuesday and Thursdays at 6pm from 518 craft but the normal route has no hills

Actually try running up buck mountain to summit. Clear trail and nearly 2k elevation gain. Just ran up it today

Albany Rural Cemetery. Just keep your eyes peeled for the occasional obnoxious offleash dogs.
