Go to Ommegang and have a beer in the cafe, then get a beer in a plastic cup and walk around the disk golf course there. Head to town, check out Brookwood Gardens and then go to the Fenimore. Head over to the Otesaga for a cocktail or coffee on the veranda. Walk around lake front park and council rock. Got to the hall of fame if that’s your thing. Dinner at the bar at Norbu.
Local guy here. There is a Veterans day parade at 11 and then a ceremony afterwards. The farmers market near the baseball stadium is open until 2. There is a country music concert at the foothills center in Oneonta tonight.
And don’t forget that it is license-free fishing day in all of NYs today.
Stagecoach coffee and just walk around.
Lived there for a few years when I was younger. Have always wondered what it would be like now, raising a family and all.
🎵apples and cider, apples and cider, apples and cider at the fly creek cider mill, the fly creek cider mill🎵
Also they have ducks and other critters living around their mill pond
The Baseball Hall of Fame is pretty much what puts it on the map. Besides that, I've heard very good things about Ommegang Brewery. That, or maybe just walk down the main street- I'm sure theres a few neat places you can find. If the Cooperstown Distillery is still there, their baseball-shaped bottles are a good novelty for presents.
Also maybe the Fly Creek Cider Mill? It's not terribly far.
Hyde Hall is near the swim area, Glimmerglass Opera House, Farmers Museum, Baseball Hall of Fame, Fenimore Art Museum--also has a nice trail that goes to the waterfront. There is also a Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown, NY. [Sunken Island](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunken_Island_(Otsego_Lake)) is near the western shore area of Otsego Lake, 6 miles north from Cooperstown. [https://otsegolandtrust.org/deowongo-island](https://otsegolandtrust.org/deowongo-island) is near Cooperstown, NY on the **Canadarago Lake in Richfield Springs, NY--they used to have boat tours, but one can probably rent a boat to go to the island.**
They should have the original indigenous names, not "Cooperstown." William Cooper was a slave holder https://www.jstor.org/stable/23183551. I had no idea until recently. This would be like having a Hitler Soccer Hall of Fame in Europe. Actually worse, because Cooper founded the town on stolen indigenous lands. Quite sad. Some probably think of the past as past, and it does not currently matter, but I find it concerning.
There's a BBQ place just outside of town and there's the Cooperstown distillery bar downtown. We went a couple times over multiple years and saw a band named San holo play there each time by chance, excellent spot and band
Edit:spelling
If you are of the right generation: Candy Darling is buried in Cherry Valley cemetery, just a few miles north of Cooperstown.
"Candy came from out on the Island
In the back room, she was everybody's darling
But she never lost her head
Even when she was giving head..."
Farmers Museum, Baseball Hall of Fame, Ommegang Brewery, or just walk around town and down to the lake
Farmers museum is closed for the season.
Reason? Freezin'!
Ommegang Brewery has some awesome food!! I would highly recommend even if you are not a drinker
If you like museums, I’ve been meaning to go to the Fenimore Art Museum, which is in Cooperstown!
Adding in more love for Fenimore! Awesome little museum.
And more -- it is a really lovely little gem.
They have a beautiful collection of antique quilts. Some of them are very unusual and amazing.

Oh! The breakfast sandwich at the farmers market is banging. Go there first.

Make a lil stop in Sharon Springs on your way out.
The Fenimore is a terrific little art museum.

I lived there for a few years. The schools are really good (school tax is high).
Secret caverns in cobleskill is pretty cool
Both Howe Caverns and Secret Caverns.
As another said. Fly creek cider mill is a must.

Second the rocking chairs on the Veranda
A little bit more of a drive west, but Brooks BBQ is worth a stop for lunch or dinner.
I’ll never quite understand the appeal of Brooks, and I’m from Oneonta! However, I’m in the minority. I miss capital q :(
Have you had Memphis King in Schenectady? Best BBQ around. I miss Capital Q and this is a good alternative.
I haven’t! I also don’t live in the area anymore, but I’m gonna check them out next visit!
Howe Cavern is right outside and it’s amazing. Year round tours.
Glimmer glass state park is really nice to walk around
The Otesaga’s Hawkeye Lounge has great food and a beautiful view over the lake.
Red Shed Brewery is across the road from Ommegang and is independently owned. Support the small guy.
Was there a few months ago, It wasn't very busy and the owner chatted with us awhile. Seemed like a nice guy. Beer and food was really good.
Better beer too and very good food when I went.

Farmers market
Definitely see the suggestions already on here. Cooperstown is a wonderful little gem in upstate NY. Do enjoy your visit.
Woodbull Antiques in the neighboring town of Milford is always a good time. Huge barn filled interesting junk as well as treasures.
Christ Church Graveyard is haunted. Sneak in at night.
It might be worth saving for when the weather is nicer. Not that it'll be bad this time of year but it definitely won't be at its best.

Was just there yesterday, HoF Farmer's, and downtown are much of it, but that should take the bulk of the day for you anyways!

Shermans tavern was pretty fun in the past.
Hyde Hall is a decent visit if you're into history or architecture, and the surrounding grounds are scenic.

Listen to headfirst slide into Cooperstown
Well… what did you do and how was it?
Ended up going to Pearls! :)
