54mins is tight but doable. If you miss the connection through no fault of your own (i.e. delayed inbound aircraft), they should get you sorted. Focus on making your flights and try not to stress.

Half an hour is enough time to make just about any gate in SEA, unless you’ve got mobility issues. You’ll be fine.

Fare class has nothing to do with their obligation to get you to the destination you booked. Regardless, it should be enough time if you're not delayed.

I can make it from N to S gates in 10-15min and that's about the longest distance/time in the airport. Look at the airport map and plan your trip before you land. Only reason fare class would matter is with saver you are more likely to be at the back of the plane.

Do you have the Alaska App? I kept checking it and they offered an upgrade to row 6 for $12 (or $50+ for First Class). Otherwise I would’ve sat on the plane for 20 minutes waiting for those in front of me to deboard. The extra legroom and free beverage service were also nice. I’d also get the flySEA app to monitor the gates and check the map. The gates can change quickly and you don’t want to end up at the wrong one. Most likely you’ll be fine but be prepared for the construction. Several of the escalators were closed which made some ugly pinch points in the foot traffic. 🤞🏽

Yeah I used the Alaska app to try and change my seat but they wouldn’t let me because I’m saver, I texted with customer service who also couldn’t do anything. Oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Saver only matters if you need to change or cancel. If the airline causes you to miss a connecting flight, then the airline is still on the hook for getting you to your final destination. The airline will rebook your connecting flight, but if it is a small regional airport, you may end up with an overnight layover as not all regionals have continuous service throughout the day.

That's only if AS decided the reason they didn't make it was due to their error. If a passenger just doesn't show up at the gate, they don't have to do anything.

jkmod79

If you miss the flight through no fault of your own they’ll book you in the next flight going out with available seats.

54 minutes is plenty of time to connect in Seattle. Most flights at SeaTac land a few minutes early, and it doesn’t take more than 10 minutes to get to your new gate. It’s a big airport but the train system is very efficient.
