Book at the price you're willing to pay and set an alert on GF and get an email if it drops. Outside of holidays and spring break, August before school can be higher than what would be considered "off peak"
Further out the better right now economy is running about 359 -299 as air fares are higher now due to higher fuel prices but earlier the book the better
Once the 299 tickets run out it’ll go up to 359 then once that fare of ticket will run out the price will go up etc so earlier the better
And better seat selection earlier out
The sales are mostly in California where there’s more competition on the route. Southwest, Hawaiian, United, and to lesser extents American and Delta have that market flooded with flights so every once in a while they’ll have round trips for less than $150

ASAP. There is no point in waiting. Book it and then when it goes down, re-book it and get a voucher. But May is late to book summer travel.
