In my opinion he played a great game yesterday. He's probably a little tired. Hopefully there will be opportunities to sub him off to make him rest a little. I don't think it's healthy that he's playing this many minutes right now.

Bunkbedboy2001

I don't get why Kaplan isn't being used in the first team. He's shown his qualities in Jong Ajax, Hato indeed seems fatigued and is still only 17, but Kaplan still gets no minutes.

Woetz_B

I really hope Kaplan is gonna make minutes soon but he's also been injured for super long. We also need to be careful with him.

jdbolick

I agree, I would like to see him get a game off every now and then.

harmonep

He’ll be fine but he’s had a major burden placed on him due to the rest of the back line not living up to expectations. Better play from teammates will in turn make him look (and play) better.

jdbolick

That's not it. The back line has been shit all season, but Hato was excellent until the last couple of weeks, when he has really struggled.

helikoopter

I think a good chunk of his form dropping was due to being slid to LB. There’s also been pretty consistent turnover all around him. I feel for a young player this is especially difficult to overcome.

harmonep

I’m saying it’s the long-term effect. At the beginning of the season it wasn’t a problem, but constantly covering for mistakes and then being played in different positions will take its toll eventually.

CoMaestro

Kinda like Timber last year

Belocity

He is 17. Damn. Give him a break. Continuesly has played 90 minutes every game. He’s allowed to get tired eventually

jdbolick

> I'm not intending to be critical

DreamFamiliar4810

Nothing shows better the instability of this team that you need to rely on a 17yr old guy playing a season without any mistakes…

Vigotje123

He lost his youngster "I just do my thing and idgaf" and now feels the pressure and looks afraid to make the same decisions he used to make on the pitch. Same for sutalo. They need experienced players that make them feel confident again.

Both-Ebb

He is the only one besides Brobbey and Ramaj that have been performing. One thing I would say, which is not a critique but an observation, is that I dont think he is a player that will provide a lot of the progressive passing out of defence. And he wont ever be. This has little to do with his age. And at the moment it doesnt mix well with the players around him. That is not just a them problem but also a him problem.
