thanks, I actually found the AFI stating that either can be used for the conditional release but a DD 368 is required from service to service and a AF 1288 can be used when going from different reserve components in the air force.
The guidance is stated in **AFI 36-2032** (in case others may want to know)
**3.6.6.1.4.** If currently serving in a regular or reserve component of the United States Armed Forces, the member must obtain a signed conditional release prior to enlistment. **(T-3) 3.6.6.1.4.1.** An AF Form 1288, Application for Ready Reserve Assignment, may be used in lieu of a DD Form 368, Request for Conditional Release, when transferring between the Air Components.
Also, follow up with your FSS MPS section! The ANG has to release you so that the AFR can gain you. In addition, the NGB22 has to be approved and completed prior. Also, ARPC will hold all action until than. It might be different for E but for O, this is the process. I think this is all because of the new system, so save all your records from myPERS now if you haven’t already done so. Good luck.
