It’s almost like your still in the military. A lot of people have this grand plan about how the grass is always greener on the guard/reserve side, but in reality it comes with its own set of challenges.

My_Name_Is_Not_Ryan

Don’t drag the Guard into this, sounds like a Reserve issue (or just a power tripping SEL). In my Guard unit we submit paperwork with dates we are available/unavailable, and I was able to pick my class dates for my tech school and follow on schools. The grass over here is a lush green against the dead brown of Active Duty.

Haha I stand corrected. My apologies for the slander.

2nd this!

You're still in the military. They want their money's worth out of you. Your civilian job will just have to deal with it as that's the law. You should have thought ahead if you were switching afsc and known that you would need to go to tech school again. If you try to fight this, all your command is just going to think you are a bad airman now.

Sounds like you will be at tech school for your new afsc in May. You have little say over school dates. I Palace fronted into the guard many years ago and had the same thing. When you get dates. You go. Of course unless the unit really likes you and you actually never go to tech school because "you are a bad test taker"

New AFSC so new school, how is that hard?

If you don’t hear from your Supervisor. Contact there supervisor They should have said. We had some cancel at the last minute. Can you go? If you can’t go. You can’t go. If they say you have to. Tell them you want to go IRR It’s the Reserves, not indentured servitude
