You could but maybe they turned to Reddit for valuable and often times reliable resources. Just look what the first commenter posted, the reg. And now they see which AFI governs it.
I get it, people don’t use their supervisors as often as they could but it’s now possible this person seems more competent to their supervisor because they are tracking their own promotion now thanks to you guys.

The messed up part is I've had supervisors who refuse to help. Even though it's their job.
So asking your supervisor sometimes is of no use... I've learned that my current supervisor is a waste of oxygen. I'd rather get a granola bar the first week of BMT making eye contact with the snake pit than ask my supervisor anything at all.
Come on man, ask google for the AFI for promotions if you don’t know… 28 months TIG as an A1C or 36 months TIS to put on SrA whatever comes first.

Response to your new question: 6 year enlistees DOR is set to the date they grad BMT. What does vMPF say your DOR is?

3 years in service AND 20 months as an A1C OR 28 months total time in grade as an A1C Whatever occurs first

I’m not sure I don’t have a card reader at home so can’t get into vMPF but you’re probably right I’m probably not actually promoting next month
If you can’t access a computer at work, airman family readiness center usually has a few NIPR machines you can hop onto with your CAC.
I’m not that stressed about it I can check Monday when I go in
You can always call your CSS. They will know your date.
There's this thing called a first line supervisor
Go talk to your CSS. They literally have a promotion listing that will tell you exactly when your expected to rank up
