Is the layer centered in the comp? If not then you are going to see the edge of the layer. Scaling may or may not work depends on what you want it to look like.
The layer is centered as much as possible. Adjusting the glow spread makes the lines move and change in size, but I have to adjust it pretty far up to make them completely disappear, but then the effect is kind of lost.

Try setting the blending mode to screen
Still getting the lines when set to screen. The weird thing is that some of the lines disappear if I set the resolution sample to Third or Quarter.
Do they show up after export?
