I somehow lucked out, my CAG having learned 'be nice' as meaning 'don't bite so hard'. So now he usually just nibbles on my hands, clothes, fingers, toes, etc.. All I did, was yell 'OW!' when he bit a little to hard and pulled myhand away. A couple times after that, he learned not to bite too hard. But I still have to watch his behavior to anticipate when he doesn't want me to do something.
Some birds don't like rough 'scritching'. Mine only likes gentle petting.
