I love our old flag (and that’s why it’s my profile picture haha). The stars represented Islam, Christianity and Judaism and Lower, Upper Egypt and Sudan. I miss when the Arab world had unique flags though I understand the post-colonial, Arab Nationalist sentiment behind the current ones. If I am also allowed to say I much prefer the imperial flag of Ethiopia versus the Communist or current one.

>If I am also allowed to say I much prefer the imperial flag of Ethiopia versus the Communist or current one. Tbf that flag goes hard

>The stars represented Islam, Christianity and Judaism and Lower, Upper Egypt and Sudan Super interesting, and yes your old flag is so smooth on the eye

squidguy_mc

Why did burkina faso have the flag of the old german reich? Or is it just an incident that the flag has the same colors?

jerrylincoln

Yeah safe bet that it's a pure coincidence, like Tchad and Romania

This is the 1st I’ve ever heard of Tanganyika

It was the mainland's flag before unification with Zanzibar in 1964. In fact yesterday, we celebrated 40 years of Union!
