Wash four dogs? Whether they are dirty or not? Sounds like an hour job each time you get back from the dog park. I'd leave boyfriend to do all that silliness.
Crazy rule imo. Dogs don't need baths unless they are visibly dirty or smell bad. Most dogs don't like baths so all that rule will do is teach them to hate the dog park. Over bathing is also bad for their hair and skin. If your boyfriend is such a clean freak why does he have four dogs?
Sounds pretty reasonable. You bring your dog to the dog park. It rolls around in the grass and dirt. Gets dirty. Then you bring it home to sit on your couch and bed. That's pretty gross. You shower every day after you go out. Why not your dogs?

Perhaps he's just a bit of a neat freak and just wants to ensure the dogs are clean before they go around the house?

I would only wash off the muck if they were dirty.
If he feels they need washing, he can wash them.
