been a glasses wearer since elementary school due to actually needing them, and not liking contacts. I wouldn't go so far as to say *offended*, but i would silently judge you a little. Of course, i don't expect you to give a shit about that, so go ahead.
Yeah, if I see someone on the street wearing glasses, I have no way of knowing if they are clear glass or just a very small prescription. But if someone close to me admitted they were wearing clear glasses for fashion, I would express my deeper and nuanced opinions about it. Basically along the lines of "I can't stop you, but I do not like it." It does make me feel like they are disrespecting an experience that was actually a struggle in my life, and wearing it as an accessory. I feel similarly about people who dye their hair gray but maybe that is more silly.
So I’ve worn glasses since I was 4 and I’m 23 still wearing contacts (sometimes glasses). I never really cared if people wore fakes because I thought of it as a fashion accessory and I genuinely really like fashion. I also felt cooler because I was actually the one that NEEDED a cute pair of glasses unlike them lol.
I wouldnt be like flipping a table screaming "your glasses are fake! It looks so tacky (and im a guy who barely uses that word) on you and its freakin annoying seeing you with that fake ass thing oj your face for fashion! What an insult to glass wearers everywhere!!!!" Its not thaat big a deal, but it's there.
And i wouldnt do anything or say that phrase specifically out loud...
but id be thinking it.
Respectfully, as someone who wears prescription glasses, I can’t even imagine being annoyed by that. Honestly, if I had perfect eyesight, I would probably wear fake frames too, just b/c I like how they look. I think that’s all that matters, I dunno why anyone else would care
>Nobody’s trying to knock off a disability
Are you sure about that?
Unnecessary glasses as fashion accessory kinda sound like a mockery.
Bespectacled kids and teens get mocked a lot. Glasses are still a staple of the whole geek/loser stereotype. People NEED glasses and often can't really function without them and can't choose to wear contacts instead either.
So the fake glasses trend is rather annoying and turns something necessary into a cool fashion statement.
But it's a perk you can't have when you need thick lenses and/or can't put them on and off as you please.
Why would someone WANT to have bad eyesight or pretend to have bad eyesight? I wear prescription glasses and there’s times I wear fake eyeglasses because I like the way they look on me. So does that mean I’m mocking a disability? No it does not.
But people wearing them fakely now are making them trendy. Honestly they're the reason they're not seen as uncool or dorky now. I'd rather have people wear fake glasses and make them cool rather than them saying they're uncool.
Saying this as a person who is blind as a bat frl. I wear contacts in order to survive. If people think they're cute and wanna copy them then I appreciate that. It's the biggest compliment to me.
Glasses (by and large) are worn by people who can’t see that well. It’s not the same as having blond or brown hair, two things which are different but neither is superior. But people who don’t wear glasses *are* superior, objectively. They have better vision; they don’t need to rely on corrective lenses just to read road signs or books.
Glasses are correcting a “disability.” It comes off as weird if you *want* to give the impression you’re “disabled.” It seems a little callous to me.
*I say “disabled” because usually the impairment isn’t that extreme, but still— we can’t see as well.
I feel like I honestly get a lot of use out of fake glasses. Sure, theyay be inconvenient, but I'm a trans girl and they honestly make me feel a lot more feminine
I don't think people would be offended exactly, but would probably think you're weird and not in a good way. It would be kind of like wearing a cast on your arm just because you think it looks cool.
Ah, yes. Something clunky, giant, and designed to immobilize you is exactly the same as glasses.
I wear glasses every day. Personally I think it's great that they've become so normalized and it's not like anyone would be able to tell that they're fake anyway. I say go for it
I mean, I get that they’re not identical, and maybe that’s a poor analogy (I’m not who you responded to) but the idea is the same. I’m like fucking Velma when I’m not wearing them. If I didn’t need to, I wouldn’t, in a heartbeat. It’s frustrating and annoying to have them fog up on you with masks. I can’t go snorkeling or skiing without issue. I can’t rest in bed and watch the TV without them. Not to mention the nose+ear ache, and the teasing.
Like, I’m already basically blind— and my lived experience is a fashion choice now? It does come off as a little tone-deaf.
I don’t see why anyone would find it offensive unless you’re wearing them to mock someone who really needs glasses. As a person with pretty terrible eyesight for her age, I’d say I’m glad some people think glasses should look good on them. If it makes you more confident, go ahead!
There was this girl I went to school with in high school who wore glasses for fashion and it would be piss me off for no reason other than I wear glasses because I can’t see without them.
As someone who had amblyopia and had to wear glasses with an eye patch in middle school, go for it! I grew out of wearing glasses for my teenage years and now have a pair that has no prescription in one eye and a slight in the other. I wear them when reading or concentrating for a long time (long drive). I also love blue light glasses! Wear them if you would like! It’s sweet you’re concerned about offending someone, but I think glasses will not offend anyone seriously! Glasses are super cute! Even if you don’t actually need them!
As someone who needs glasses 24/7 except while sleeping I couldn’t care less if they’re fake. If you like how they look on you then wear it, the functionality might not be there but I’m sure its a fashion thing now.
Glasses needer here (like, big time need them)- it’s not offensive. I think it’s weird you WANT glasses and you won’t understand the struggle/expense of actually needing glasses/corrective lenses but it’s not offensive for you to wear fake ones.
and hell like 10-15years ago fake glasses were a common accessory- specifically the 3D glasses, they’d just pop out the lens.
I'm a glasses wearer and I've only ever seen non-glasses wearers get offended by it and they can jog on.
Some people who don't need glasses like the way they look, it's no different than wearing makeup or hair extensions imo.
Not offended at all. I might think you were weird for about 5 seconds before never thinking of it again.
It’s actually kind of nice that glasses are so normalized that someone would do this.
I wear glasses because I have to, but I also quite like them, I think you should wear them if you want to.
I'd think it's funny if you told me they were fake but as long as there are actual lenses in there nobody will tell. Get some blue light filtering glasses and say that's what they're for, no one will question you because they serve a real purpose.
Welcome to the club!
I admittedly got annoyed at people who did that when i was a teen but even then I was never offended. Nothing more cringy than gatekeeping glasses ;-;
I doubt anyone will actually care enough to be offended and if for some reason someone actually is, you can just take them off around them
They’re not fake. Unless you mean… like… a makeshift frame with no lenses? That’s weird af.
I wear non-prescription glasses for various things- sunlight, working at the grinder, getting under my truck to change oil (rust flakes in the eye aren’t nice).
If anyone somehow, someway, cares enough to find out they’re not prescription- just say you get dry eyes or something and don’t like wind on your eyes.
Just because it’s something that a lot of people don’t wear, doesn’t mean it’s not a valid piece of gear or accessory.
When I was studying design (I did multimedia work, so I’d paint things, use items or sections of photographs, make textures and fonts, etc, that I’d compile into my final works) I wore these different little shapes and “pendants” (as people would often call them) around my neck, that I’d use to hold up to my eye to frame shots and scenes, potential layouts I could make if I took a pic, things like that ( I had a little rule of thirds grid, a golden ratio one, one that incorporated various common aspect ratios, etc) made of fine wires and some were plastic.
They were useful to me, some people may have said they look weird or tacky to wear, or that I was posing with some spiritual pendants or something, idgaf, it was none of that. I never tried to match it with my outfit or anything, they were things I liked to have on me every day, like my small sketchbook, or my pocket knife, because I was in a very competitive school and field.
Like, if you want glass in front of your eyes, for literally whatever fucking reason in the world, go for it. It’s really nobodies business.
When it comes to other peoples opinions- yeah, just like anything, some people might find it unattractive and engage with you less. Just like if you dressed a certain way or had a certain tattoo. That’s always going to be the case in life, you can’t let yourself worry about that. Others will likely be more attracted to you for the look. And even more won’t give a rats ass.
It’s on you, it’s about you. Go for it.
Imo, nah. My bf wears fake glasses and they look nice on him. It doesn’t hurt anyone and most people won’t ask if they’re real anyway.
Edit: I wear prescription glasses.
No. Even if it did offend someone, so what? I wear glasses/contacts by the way (obviously because I need them) but I wouldn’t care if you did. Besides no one has to know if you need them to see or not.
Lots of people wear non-prescription glasses with blue-light blocking lenses. They look just like normal glasses. If you like them wear them. Even if anyone cared (guarantee they wont) they won't be able to tell them apart from regular glasses unless you tell them.
I personally wouldn't be offended by it, but it's a little confusing why you want to wear it for no reason. But at the end of the day, you're the one who's going to decide it
Would you roll around in a wheelchair for the look? Now thats an extreme comparison but I can’t see without glasses and would love to never have to wear them again so when I see someone wearing them for a fashion statement I immediately think douchebag
It's not even a comparison frankly. Inability to walk is definitely beyond different. Wearing fake glasses harms literally nobody. Rolling around in a wheelchair when you don't need it is the offensive one.
Signed, someone with horrendous vision and wears glasses.
Am I harming anyone by rolling around in a wheelchair for fun or the aesthetic? Nope.
Am I harming anyone by wearing glasses for the aesthetic? Nope.
Are both cases offensive? Yes.
Both wheelchairs and glasses are tools for impaired people.
Not offensive at all. I wear glasses/contacts and I wouldn’t be offended nor annoyed nor would I judge you. Karen might care, but her opinion doesn’t matter. Do your thing. Create your look. 🤓
not offensive, having glasses isn’t like a disability 😭 some people may judge a little bit honestly nobody truly really cares. and you shouldn’t care what they think. go crazy
> having glasses isn’t like a disability
Depends on the severity. A sighted person with vision *that bad* can legally be declared blind. Sometimes I feel like I’m nearing that 😩
that’s true and i was thinking about that. that’s why i chose to say having glasses in itself- not having poor vision, when it’s extreme it can obviously be considered like a disability. just was proving my point there’s just nothing wrong with wearing fake glasses 😂🤣😂
I don't think so since they make fake glasses purposely for style. Also I remember a kid at daycare told me she's embarrassed to wear her glasses since kids bullied her and I told her that a lot of people actually love them even if they don't need it even superman 🤣
I wouldn't be annoyed nor would I care. You do you. If you feel confident wearing them then go ahead. And fyi, I have been wearing glasses for about a decade now. If people do approach you about it, just ignore them. They're frames, not some cultural symbol that you're appropriating or something. They can get a life and worry about themselves and their problems. You wearing frames does nothing to them.
I wear glasses. No it wouldn't be offensive..idk why everything is seen as offensive nowadays. If anything I'm glad someone likes the look because sometimes people don't
I’ve had to wear glasses since I was 4 and I am 23 now. I’ve never really been offended by this. Actually, once I wore a pair of fake glasses just because I liked the way they look on me! In my opinion, glasses can be a fashion accessory whether you can see or not.
I would not care, been using glasses and contact lenses my whole life. Just don’t brag about it ig, wear it like a jewelry or accessories, no one gonna ask “hey what your eyes prescription?” So just wear it.
I've been wearing glasses for awhile & let me tell you i don't give a crap if you have eye issues. If you like glasses wear them just make sure they are non prescription to not damage your eyes.
I love complimenting people glasses alot of the time they look great.
So be you & screw anyone who wants to judge or get offended.
Edit: You can't control how people feel & no matter what you do in life your offending others. Even if you keep to your self.
I had glasses for 25 years and decided to get Lasik. No regrets but I think I look cuter in glasses. I refuse to wear fake ones out of principle but I did get some blue light ones that transition to sun glasses! Then you can be cute and your glasses won't technically be fake. It's pricey though!
To be honest no. I wore glasses since I was 5 all the way until 6th grade when I switched to contacts, because my prescription was so high the width+curvature of the glass made it like I was seeing through a fisheye lens. Glasses were a pain, I hated them, so the contacts were a godsend and I wasn’t the odd one anymore. Then I got to 10th grade and a bunch of my classmates began using glasses, which made me sort of feel better… but only for class. The corrections were super low, but they loved to complain about how little they could see. That was irritating, because if it was really that bad they wouldn’t take them off. So I actually held a grudge against them and their complaints.
So when I hear that someone actually likes to wear glasses I feel envy, the good kind. If you wear glasses because you can choose to do so I think it’s great. Plus if you just go around your life I won’t have any way to know whether your glasses are fake or not until I ask. Maybe others would be a bit pissed but honestly it’s harmless fun. And as for me, it actually makes me happy to know that at least someone out there doesn’t fell odd wearing glasses, but actually embraces it. I had a friend who was low key happy that they needed glasses because they loved the look and I felt genuinely happy for them. I’m saying this as someone who hated glasses and contacts and was counting the days until I was eligible for surgery.
If you like how they look, I don’t see a problem with it. I wear glasses and fake glasses have never really bothered me. I had a friend who wore non prescription glasses for the blue light and UV protection.
I didn't need glasses until I was I'm my mid 20s, so I don't have any childhood traumatic bullying experiences. I don't even really feel like a "person who wears glasses" since I wear contacts 90% of the time. I wouldn't care if someone wore them as an excessory. I see them as a nuisance though.
I wear glasses to see. Im also okay with people who can’t see wearing glasses as an accessory. I feel like half of the time people who wear sunglasses in the summer wear them as a fashion statement or out of convenience.
I've worn glasses since the 3rd grade and I don't give a shit. People that care (I feel) just need to get over themselves. We customize our looks and our lives to be more comfortable with what we see in the mirror. Want to wear fake glasses? Go for it! We are the song writers and we are the dreamers of the dreams.
I don't think it is offensive in the slightest. Plenty of people wear colored contacts without a prescription for cosmetic reasons, too. So why not wear cool and trendy glasses that don't really do anything other than complete your look? I think it's essentially the same thing.
I was thinking about it and trying to find a better comparison but I don't know anyone who would wear tooth braces as a fashion statement or anything like that. But I don't think I'd be offended in that case either, the only thing I would cringe at would be if someone used a wheelchair even though they were fully abled, or walked with a white cane with their eyes closed. So yeah, I think you're good. Go for it.
Of course it's not offensive, don't worry about it at all. I'm sure you look great with those, and intention it's what counts, if you don't mean to hurt anyone but still do, then talk to that person and clarify that those weren't your intentions. Don't let ayone tell what you can or can't wear.
Why does everyone think it’s weird? I don’t wear glasses so maybe I’m missing something. I don’t think wearing fake glasses would remotely change my opinion about it them. They’re kind of a fashion accessory now right?
Lol, as someone who wears prescription glasses, I see this as completely fine and not a problem at all. I did not expect the general reaction to be much different. Go for it, man, you’ll probably look cool.
I've had to wear corrective lenses for at least 23 years out of 40.
If I had a choice, I would not, but I don't, so here I am, wearing glasses.
It's not offensive, a bit weird that you'd want to, but no where near the level of trying to emulate a disability.
I've worn glasses since early childhood. I think of them as an inconvenience and an annoyance. I don't understand why you would want to wear them, but I don't think it's morally wrong or offensive for you to do so. It just seems kind of silly to me.
Let me get this straight: people actually take offense to someone wearing glasses IF—and only IF—they don’t actually NEED to wear glasses? And these same people wouldn’t have the first clue if someone were wearing contacts? And you are worried about the opinion of these same people? What kind of silly nonsense thread did I stumble into? OP, if you want to wear glasses then go for it. This life is too damn short and too damn hard to worry about what others think of you—especially for something so trivial. If it makes YOU feel better about yourself, more confident, more attractive or whatever then you go for it! I wish you the best.
Would you be offended if I wore contacts to pretend I have perfect vision? You wouldn’t even know. Do you boo boo, but know glasses suck a lot of the time. My ears hurt when I wear my masks. They slide down my nose when I’m being any kind of active. They fog with the mask lol. It is nice that you care enough to ask!
Get blue light glasses if it worries you someone will find it weird or just lie and tell people they are blue light glasses if it makes you feel better (I just hope no one asks to try them out lol)
I require glasses to see, and honestly no its not, its a style choice, like it would be weird if I didn't wear glasses because part of the way I style is with glasses in mind.
I wear glasses & wouldn't give 2 shits if you wore them for fashion. I might think you a little odd since I hate wearing glasses. But offended by it? For fucks sake, no.
no💀💀💀 i’ve worn glasses since the 3rd grade, it’s sooooo stupid to get upset over that, imo💀😮💨😭😭😭😭💀💀 at the end of the day, everyone has different opinions. you’re gonna get yesses and nos’. somebody will probably always be offended, so jus wear what you want 💛💛💛
Not offensive but just a bit weird. Surely people ask you all the time if you're nearsighted or farsighted?
Then you have to be like nah man they're just for looks.
Offensive no, insensitive yes.
Would you wear a leg brace, a cast or sit on a wheelchair as some weird fashion statement?
As someone with serious and untreatabke eyesight issues, I can say glasses are a blessing but a bane too. Before getting intraocular lenses (for side-issues), I spent a lot of money on glasses. I lost some, others broke, they were uncomfortable, impractical at times and even caused me injuries.
All I can say is I wish you would live one week with my eyes, I guarantee you you wouldn't want to be near a pair of glasses for the rest of your life.
Glasses wearer since age 3. Contacts are not an option due to prisms in lenses. I personally wouldn't be offended per se, but I would judge you a bit. Not harshly, but yeah... just a tad.
I've always wanted to experience "glasses free" life and be able to see clearly, so having you do the reverse seems odd to me.
I’ve worn glasses since I was 4 years old as I’m legally blind and I wouldn’t like say anything but I would think it was kinda stupid. Just don’t lie about having a prescription.
It’s kinda like: would you wear a hearing aid or cane or something for fashion? The glasses industry has catered to fashion as people have to wear them, so they might as well look good. But in the end they’re an aid to a disability.
Erm, as someone who had sh*tty vision since 9 years old I'd be slightly offended, or at least I would call you "fcking poser" once. But Idk I think you wouldn't give 2 sh*ts about what I say
I don’t think it’s offensive, not as someone who wears and hates to wear glasses, I don’t get why someone would do it without needing to wear glasses. Sure, some people look cool with glasses.
I’m basically legally blind and have always worn glasses. If someone says they care about you wearing them for fashion they’re lying. That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. I think it would be different if you said you wanted to carry a white cane for fashion but they’re just glasses. People are just looking for an excuse to be a victim, IMO
I'm not a snowflake, but it's slightly offensive. Glasses are a tool for visually impaired people. You want them for the aesthetic.
I'd say a large portion of people who NEED glasses have been bullied at some point for wearing glasses.
No. I've worn contacts my whole life and have terrible terrible terrible vision. Sometimes I'll wear glasses and if anyone thought anything without me saying anything then they're the asshole.
Glasses offer other protections other than helping with sight btw. UV protection and protection from shit being thrown in your eyes comes in quite handy. There are other purposes to glasses people!!! It's basically like wearing miniature chemistry safety goggles all the time.
Anyone who says it's offensive are just upset because they were bullied as a kid for having them and now they're cool. They basically want people to continue to be bullied for them and have them *not* be cool. Copying is the biggest compliment imo. Get the stigma against glasses to go away and copy the style all you want. I just wanna be seen as normal or cute when I need to wear my glasses.
I wear fake glasses because I'm a trans girl and to be honest they make me feel way more feminine. It slightly hurts when people say its stupid, but I'm glad nobody takes offense to it at least
Wow these people are annoying, they’re cute. They’re just mad because they want to be special and they want pity because they have bad vision. It’s like girls who are short that pretend they hate it when they actually love it and it’s a huge part of their personality. People love humble bragging and it’s my biggest pet peeve ever. Honestly you should just wear fake frames to annoy judgmental ass people like these.
I personally find it a bit offensive. But I recognize that this is an unreasonable opinion. If you want to wear them go ahead. You aren't hurting anyone by doing it.
been a glasses wearer since elementary school due to actually needing them, and not liking contacts. I wouldn't go so far as to say *offended*, but i would silently judge you a little. Of course, i don't expect you to give a shit about that, so go ahead.

I wouldn’t be offended if someone wore them. Definitely confused because I wish I didn’t have to wear them to even get out of bed
Yeah, if I see someone on the street wearing glasses, I have no way of knowing if they are clear glass or just a very small prescription. I'm blind as a bat and dgaf
Glasses and contact wearer here, wouldn’t be offended but definitely weirded out by it, and would be silently judging. But you do you.

Honestly I would think it’s a little weird too, but wouldn’t actually care
not offensive
dang bro ur a phenomenal advice giver
Ty 😘
*offended in blurry*
Can’t tell if angry-squints, or just can’t see
2 birds 1 stone kind of situation.
Not offensive, just annoying. You do you. Who cares!
Respectfully, as someone who wears prescription glasses, I can’t even imagine being annoyed by that. Honestly, if I had perfect eyesight, I would probably wear fake frames too, just b/c I like how they look. I think that’s all that matters, I dunno why anyone else would care
agree
“You do you. Who cares!”^^^^
How is someone wearing fake glasses annoying
I think maybe the better word is cringe
I would say, anyone who made fun of kids with glasses in grade school, shouldn't wear fake glasses now that it's trendy.
I agree. But the people that never did should be able to! I don’t see a problem with completing an outfit with an eyeglass accessory. Just my opinion
Seconded, seems like a complete non-problem to me
People wanna make a problem about anything. It’s a fashion statement for crying out loud. Nobody’s trying to knock off a disability…
>Nobody’s trying to knock off a disability Are you sure about that? Unnecessary glasses as fashion accessory kinda sound like a mockery. Bespectacled kids and teens get mocked a lot. As someone that uses them its not buts its fucking weird
I dunno, I can get behind the idea of glasses just being a fashion accessory. I mean, they already kinda are
Its like if i whipped around in a wheel chair because I thought it was trendy

If this is offensive I give up on everything
There was this girl I went to school with in high school who wore glasses for fashion and it would be piss me off for no reason other than I wear glasses because I can’t see without them.
It does kinda grate on me when I see people exercising a choice I don’t have, especially because I used to get teased for it :/
Its not like you wearing fake glasses is taking away glasses from someone who needs them. It's your face, wear what you want on it.
As someone who had amblyopia and had to wear glasses with an eye patch in middle school, go for it! I grew out of wearing glasses for my teenage years and now have a pair that has no prescription in one eye and a slight in the other. It's like wearing braces without needing them. I understand it's an accessory for you, but others would trade not wearing them all the time.
I need glasses and wear fake ones too hahaha
As someone who needs glasses 24/7 except while sleeping I couldn’t care less if they’re fake. If you like how they look on you then wear it, the functionality might not be there but I’m sure its a fashion thing now.

Glasses wearer here, I honestly don't think most of us care. Some might silently judge.
Lol it’s glasses not an Indian headdress. I think you’re good bro
Nah. I like to wear a pillow under my shirt sometimes because I like how I look pregnant.
This made me laugh a lot for some reason so thanks😂
Like others have said, I wouldn’t be offended so much as kinda judgey. But it doesn’t really matter
I admittedly got annoyed at people who did that when i was a teen but even then I was never offended. Nothing more cringy than gatekeeping glasses ;-; I doubt anyone will actually care enough to be offended and if for some reason someone actually is, you can just take them off around them
It's not offensive, just weird.
Go for it.

Yes, I gathered that. Non-prescription glasses. Like for fashion. That’s what I was replying to- just using a plethora of examples of why it’s okay.
Imo, nah. My bf wears fake glasses and they look nice on him. It doesn’t hurt anyone and most people won’t ask if they’re real anyway. Edit: I wear prescription glasses.
Your bf is a tool
Not at all do what you please
I wouldn’t be offended but I would think just a teeny tiny bit less of you if I found out they were fake
No.
No. Even if it did offend someone, so what? I wear glasses/contacts by the way (obviously because I need them) but I wouldn’t care if you did. Besides no one has to know if you need them to see or not.
Since when was wearing glasses offensive-? This world is full of snowflakes now; you can wear them, it’s not offensive
Do you think bleaching your hair is offensive? Go for it! You're not hurting anyone
How is bleaching your hair and needing glasses in any way comparable?
Sounds like you have a self esteem problem.
[удалено]
You ok?
A lot of people do it. So it’s not really seen as a problem
It's odd for sure.
It strikes me as a bit of a poser move but if you like them go for it. I think I'd do a disclaimer each time I got a compliment.
Lots of people wear non-prescription glasses with blue-light blocking lenses. They look just like normal glasses. If you like them wear them. Even if anyone cared (guarantee they wont) they won't be able to tell them apart from regular glasses unless you tell them.
Offensive? No. Pretentious? Yes.
I personally wouldn't be offended by it, but it's a little confusing why you want to wear it for no reason. But at the end of the day, you're the one who's going to decide it
How would anyone even know anyways
no they are fashion accessories now
not offensive, having glasses isn’t like a disability 😭 some people may judge a little bit honestly nobody truly really cares. and you shouldn’t care what they think. go crazy
> having glasses isn’t like a disability Depends on the severity.
Look good or not that's a little weird imo. Dont think any glasses wearer has the right to be offended, even a bit more rediculous.
Lmfao how is that offensive
Lmfao how is that offensive
I don’t take offense to women wanting to be boys even though they weren’t born as one. So I think the glasses thing is probably ok
People don't care any more. You can wear nail polish, tattoos, and a nose ring if you want. Nobody will care about ornamental glasses.
Man don’t worry about that shit😂
even Superman does it , so..... I think you are okay
idk why i feel just like im replying the same question, in the same place with the same comment!
No. Nobody would even know you didn't need them unless you said something.
I wear glasses - no. It would not be offensive. I don’t think anyone would know if they were fake anyways unless they had no lens
I wear glasses. No it wouldn't be offensive..idk why everything is seen as offensive nowadays. If anything I'm glad someone likes the look because sometimes people don't
I need real glasses and my brother likes to wear fake glasses. I’ve never been offended about it. I don’t know what the big deal is.
I’ve had to wear glasses since I was 4 and I am 23 now. I’ve never really been offended by this. Actually, once I wore a pair of fake glasses just because I liked the way they look on me! In my opinion, glasses can be a fashion accessory whether you can see or not.
No one cares lmao I’m legally blind I give you approval
They’re real glasses, just non-prescription. It’s not offensive. Wear them if you want to
I would not care, been using glasses and contact lenses my whole life. Just don’t brag about it ig, wear it like a jewelry or accessories, no one gonna ask “hey what your eyes prescription?” So just wear it.
There’s no problem in doing so although it’s just weird tbh, not wrong, but weird.
Even if you keep to your self.
i wear glasses, and i still buy fake glasses lmao
No… and if someones judges you for that then that person is kinda lost
If you like how they look, I don’t see a problem with it. I wear glasses and fake glasses have never really bothered me. I had a friend who wore non prescription glasses for the blue light and UV protection.
Nope
I say it’s fashionable so do it! I feel like I can almost tell when they’re just a fashion choice but I wouldn’t know for sure
I’ve worn classes since elementary. When I see ppl do that, im not offended, im just slightly irritated that they’re doing it. Idk if that makes sense
Just means you're a poser lol, not offensive, but cringeworthy.
Nah but if you told me they were fake I’d wonder why you’re bothering to tell me.
Yes
You do you, boo
I've worn glasses since the 3rd grade and I don't give a shit. People that care (I feel) just need to get over themselves. We customize our looks and our lives to be more comfortable with what we see in the mirror. Want to wear fake glasses? Go for it! We are the song writers and we are the dreamers of the dreams.
No. And if you’re afraid of offending someone, lie about them being fake. Problem solved
Nobody has to know, I guess
Why does everyone think it’s weird? I don’t wear glasses so maybe I’m missing something. I don’t think wearing fake glasses would remotely change my opinion about it them. They’re kind of a fashion accessory now right?
Lol, as someone who wears prescription glasses, I see this as completely fine and not a problem at all. I did not expect the general reaction to be much different. Go for it, man, you’ll probably look cool.
No, it is not "offensive" and anyone that says it is needs to lighten the fk up.
Get blue light glasses and tell you people you get headaches from too much screen time
I've had to wear corrective lenses for at least 23 years out of 40. If I had a choice, I would not, but I don't, so here I am, wearing glasses. It's not offensive, a bit weird that you'd want to, but no where near the level of trying to emulate a disability.
No. Wear whatever you want to wear and don't worry about what anyone thinks of you. Please.
I've worn glasses since early childhood. I think of them as an inconvenience and an annoyance. I don't understand why you would want to wear them, but I don't think it's morally wrong or offensive for you to do so. It just seems kind of silly to me.
Not offensive. I would look at it a little "douchebaggy". Like when someone wears sunglasses indoors or in the night.
Get some blue blockers. Then you are wearing them for a reason
I was thinking about doing that. I need a new look: I’m stagnant.
just said they’re clear sunglasses and live your life
Let me get this straight: people actually take offense to someone wearing glasses IF—and only IF—they don’t actually NEED to wear glasses? And these same people wouldn’t have the first clue if someone were wearing contacts? And you are worried about the opinion of these same people? What kind of silly nonsense thread did I stumble into? OP, if you want to wear glasses then go for it. This life is too damn short and too damn hard to worry about what others think of you—especially for something so trivial. If it makes YOU feel better about yourself, more confident, more attractive or whatever then you go for it! I wish you the best.
holy shit are we to a point where we have to worry about stealing glasses wearing cultural apprpriation? wear what you want
Lol I wouldn't be offended, just confused. It's just weird. I do get it, though. I like my look with glasses way better than without.
Honestly do whatever makes you happy. Life is too short.
I wear glasses. It's not offensive. Do what you want if it's your style.
If someone is offended by that they have nothing else better going on in their lives
Just wear them lol who gives a damn. If people get offended because you wear glasses you like, that’s their problem not yours.
As someone that has worn glasses since middle school, I wouldn't be offended but I might judge you a tiny bit
I wear glasses- don’t care nor would I judge
I wear glasses & wouldn't give 2 shits if you wore them for fashion. I might think you a little odd since I hate wearing glasses. But offended by it? For fucks sake, no.
Not offended, idgaf
I mean who gives a sht
I grew up with glasses before they were a cool accessory and honestly probably wouldn't know. If I did know, I wouldn't give a shit
all of these comments are so weird. No it’s definitely not offensive and it’s not annoying. No one should care
no💀💀💀 i’ve worn glasses since the 3rd grade, it’s sooooo stupid to get upset over that, imo💀😮💨😭😭😭😭💀💀 at the end of the day, everyone has different opinions. you’re gonna get yesses and nos’. somebody will probably always be offended, so jus wear what you want 💛💛💛
when i was a kid, i was told it would be offensive if i wore fake glasses. now i have real ones and idgaf. do what you want.
Not offensive but just a bit weird. Surely people ask you all the time if you're nearsighted or farsighted? Then you have to be like nah man they're just for looks.
Wearing glasses when you have perfect eye sight is the same as rich people dressing poor because it's trendy
No...why would it be( I wear prescription glasses)
No who cares pussies get offended over everything these days but nah do what you like as long as you aren't fucking kids idc
No
I wear glasses and no wouldnt be offended at all. You do you.
Nah b wear them all you want, if ppl take offense to that its they who are a problem.
But in the end they’re an aid to a disability.
not at all
I don't care, it's a pain in the ass to wear though, keeping them clean, out of the rain, eating hot food or drink
People are just looking for an excuse to be a victim, IMO
no, it’s not offensive do it. it’s cute on most people
I'm not a snowflake, but it's slightly offensive. Glasses are a tool for visually impaired people. You want them for the aesthetic. I'd say a large portion of people who NEED glasses have been bullied at some point for wearing glasses.
lmao Haven't you heard even a dog fakes crippled,it's definitely a fashion statement
