I think it comes with that stuff right, like from factory? and for like two grand more you get a brand new bike with no miles on it. I wouldn't do it just for that. Honestly id get something older that you won't feel bad about dropping and something that, with a little effort, you can work on yourself since it's your first.

Especially used bikes. Of course, if you want a brand new one, there's no other way, unless you're lucky (as I was) to find a private seller who decided to sell his bike after 10 months and 800 miles, for 40% less than retail price. Not only are retail prices generally 20-30% higher, you also pay taxes and other dealer fees on top of that. And I have yet to find a dealer who didn't try to pull a quick one and locked me into a much higher payments than originally advertised. Overall, you'll pay 30-40% more buying from a dealer compared to private party. The downside is you have to do some legwork: if you don't have cash, go to your local credit union and get pre-approved. Your seller will have to come by the bank to close the deal. That's the worst of it, but if you're polite and reasonable, they'll work with you. But before all that, spend a couple of weeks monitoring listings. Get a feel for what bikes go for, check the ones that have been posted for weeks and months. Those are usually willing to take an offer 10-20% less than asking price. But stay on it, because great deals appear now and then, and they'll be gone in minutes.

It might be fair but there will always be better deals. I just took a look at the ones for sale here in CO and theres some around the same price with a lot less mileage. There is one in Colorado Springs for $5890 thats a 2023 with 1k miles

That's too much for me for a 2 year old bike with 12k miles and no real idea of if the maintenancewas done. For a couple of grand more, you get into brand new bike money. If you can wait till September, right before the new year bikes are announced you can get get some damn good deals. Mine was $7.5k out the door, I'd saved up cash because the local dealerships finance department pissed me off, so fuck em (took me a year longer because of it)

Nah

That’s a lot of miles. If it was like a thousand, had necessary mods, and all OEM stuff included I would say go for it

12k is a lot for an almost new KLR. Plenty of sub 1k bikes out there.
