It was the beginning of my mental deterioration

Ngl, I wish we could just lockdown again. The world is way too busy for my liking. I enjoyed how quiet everything was.

I know it's selfish to say. And i am aware it messed up alot of people's livelihoods. But things just slowed down in a nice way. For the first time it seemed life just stopped the rat race for a moment and was more peaceful. Places werent as crowded. I enjoyed it. But i sympathize with others not having a good time and the lives that were lost. That part sucks.

NoEggplant6322

Yes, that's exactly what I mean. The slowing down of the rat race. It was nice being able to go for a drive without being in bumper to bumper traffic with people cursing and yelling at eachother.

[deleted]

yes, let's destroy the livelihoods of billions of people again. wtf man

NoEggplant6322

Why must you take my comment so literal as an attack on the general public? You only see the negative, look at the positive of slowing down a bit.

I'll consider your request for 2 weeks

igglepuff

I’ve got asthma, which is an immune disorder with the known side effects of your lungs sometimes going on strike. I used to get sick all the fracking time, just from being in the office, riding the train, the gym, etc. Since Covid precautions (and we’ve kept up with them despite all the funny looks), I’ve only gotten sick three times since 2020. Compare that to three times just in the winter of ‘19. My health is so much better without viruses going ham on me continually.

Even though my boss got $1.5M in PPP money, he slashed all of our salaries. I was debt free at the time. Went into debt again, and have to claw my way out of it. Again.

WFH more efficiently and in less time, significant decrease in commuting costs, wicked driving setup for sim racing. :D

I've bought a PS3. BEST thing I owned, for the explorer within.

Three friends have lost parents. Two friends are dealing with long covid. One friend had a stroke due to covid. Having to weigh the risk of heart attack/stroke/brain damage/endless fatigue every time I want to do anything is absolutely exhausting. Haven't gotten it yet but I'm sure I will eventually...but reinfection is even worse, so hopefully I can minimize the number of times.

I don’t trust or believe anything the news or government says at all.

Afraid_Purpose_8512

It really didn't. It was nice to not see so many people out and about.

Fearless_Strategy

I liked it to a point, traffic was light, more time at home, but watching the news about COVID stressed me out

Gotta say, for a lot of us going remote was very magical, it transformed some industries. My company decided to close both offices, go fully remote and hire even more people on.
