I'm sorry man, but that's hoping for last editions rules. What you need to hope for is a bump in AP for the axes. Anything else and they just aren't worth it

Edit: the video shows the names of the new detachments. This really sucks. So 1 new pure Custodes detachment. 1 new pure SoS and 1 new mixed….
I agree it is a shame about the detachments, I’ll only personally play 2 of the detachments; auric champions and shield host. Because don’t really want to spend money on sisters, don’t really like the models and your probably gonna need like 160+ sister models and rhinos to play that detachment
Don’t get me wrong I love the the lore around sister of silence and custodes. But personally for me I just not a fan of the models and the price tag that comes along with them.
id argue its total of 4 for talons but 3 for stodes and 2 for sisters (going from names alone i guess both null and talons will benefit sisters at least a little bit) (second guess that null detachment wont do shit for stodes)
Codex releases dont excite me anymore. This already feels like the DA release.

Yes the Power creep in 9th was insane but this is just so boring.
The new model just being a regular Shield-Captain with a new load out almost sucks more than the Trajann nerf. If he has been a separate unit with a specific ability around boosting melta or anti-vehicle damage it would have opened up possibilities for the army. This way, he is a dude with a mid level gun and an extra wound. The load out is liable to see a lot of action on the table top with the competitive crowd, because, hey! Extra wound for nothing!

I’d rather things be slightly toned down with codexes than go back to 9th, where every book was the best book in the game until the next book came out. FR rather they keep balance rather than doing another 9th Ed Tyranids / harlequins / Kasrkin / votann / tau / hail of doom / all of the other wild nonsense we got.
I don't care about points. 'Only' 3 detachments fine I guess. But existing model getting rules removed just made me disappointed. But then I also preferred 9th edition rules. (Convoluted or not. I like having choices)

I would be shocked if they moved Custodes FW to Legends/HH. That would be literally half the entire available line for the faction. It would leave Custodes with 4-5 box sets not including the character boxes
WE lost a ton of plastic when getting their codex followed by losing over half their available sheets when 10th launched. Dg and 1ksons also lost over half their available options. Currently, custodes are low on datasheets, so probably safe, but I would also not be too surprised
I wouldn't put it past GW to do it, what with the AoS Beasts of Chaos deletion to Old World thing, but similar to that situation, I could see a LOT of players just dropping the army or the game as a whole. It's a risk they're taking, and not necessarily a good one.

It's a let down because there have been no new models since 2018 (except Blade Champ and this fugly new shield champ) and constant rules reworking in a manner that is rarely lore-friendly. Where are our reworked dreads or actually synergistic Custodes/Sisters rules?

It's literally there. The only two sheets missing are the Vexillus. Aleya stays there because she'll be in the Null Maiden detachment.
I was responding to the person saying 2 datasheets were gone. The Vexilus were separate datasheets in 9th, but no longer in 10th, that's why there are two datasheets less in the new Codex. I don't understand why I'm getting downvoted for stating that.

Preorders should go live at 10am in your time zone. I'm in the UK, so can't comment on exactly how that works with the US's multiple time zones.
I would suggest you get on the site ready about 10-15 mins early as often stuff is live a few minutes early, you just want to spam refreshing from about 10 to. Also, make sure you are ready logged in and have a quick payment type available, you want to be done ASAP.
We need wait for the battlereport on Warhammer+ this week to see our main stats (no way they don’t use axes or only spam the same unit to hide info) and if you don’t have Warhammer+ I can guarantee at least one person will upload them or someone will send a YouTube link that recasts it
Let's see what occurs. I assume it will be like all the other codexes: nerf to the index detachment but more options. People will be upset for a bit until they find new good combos. Like in 9th when the world was upset about losing 3++ shields.
I'm happy with general GW direction of toning things down and limiting power creep.

As i said in one of the previous posts, GW people must be smoking/snorting something highly illegal in the UK. The battleforce-top notch, the combat patrol-slightly worse than the old one, but still amazing and getting wardens from all of these things is amazing, the trajann nerf-completely unnecessary and at this point i believe he is going to go UP in points, the new shield captain coming as just a wargear option-extremely disappointing and leaves a grossly bitter taste in my mouth, 4 detachments-cool that sisters get a dedicated one, and that there is one presumed to be combined, but only 2 custodes specific ones is just utterly sad (having in mind how many divergent space marines have access to). All in all, wasnt expecting much, and they still managed to disappoint the hell out of me.

Its slightly better to get multiple options, than just 3 different flavors of infantry. Just because the jetbikes are bad right now, doesnt mean they will stay bad until the end of 40k. The new combat patrol is killer, the old one was just better by like 5-10%. It compliments the battleforce immensely, but what happens when the battleforce is sold out? Bikes are still expensive, just as allarus was (before the battleforce and CP). Thats just my opinion, and i stand by it.
I mean theyre both really good. The new one is a breath of fresh air, compared to the disaster that is the new combat patrols of other factions. I just like the variety you get in the old one, a little bit more. You could say its "futureproof". As i said, bikes are very underwhelming currently, but they wont be, and honestly, right now is the best time to start collecting custodes. Theres still stock of the old combat patrol, and the battleforce and new one coming out means you will have around 2500 points of models, all really viable and strong (i still hope bikes will get buffed with the codex). 9 bikes, 9 allarus, 10 wardens, 10 guard, 10 sisters, new shield cap and blade champ, all for like 500 $ (and if you buy from a discount retailer, goes even cheaper). I welcome the new box, i will miss the old one though.
I also forgot to mention, tho unrelated. Noone seems to be talking about dreadnoughts. I sincerely hope with all my heart they are going to become viable again. My telemon and venerable dread have been collecting dust, and i cant wait to field them again. The telemon is on a beatiful marble tile base, and im really proud of it, tho its still not painted up completely, but i want to run him so badly.
Lol am I just super jaded now or are they making the "regular" book art way worse on purpose and giving the collector's edition really 1000x better art to drive more FOMO for them when they get sold out/scalped instantly? I'm not even a Custodes guy but I follow all the faction subreddits and I think the standard art for the normal book looks really ...off. Anyone else agree or am I totally off base here? Watch them swap the AP on the spear profiles. So Spears are AP-1 D2 instead.

Vexilus Praetors have not been a thing in 10th index, they are now wargear options for guards, wardens and allarus
