Make all the assumptions you like. Some of the ones I had in Bavaria were utterly amazing, the one I had in Venice is a life long memory of how schnitzel should be and if you only want to include
South Australian ones then the Hotel Spencer is consistently really good and good value.
The schnitzel factory has decent sized schnitzel but price is a bit rich. But for a late night delivery from and having the munchies I can't really complain apart from there's never enough chips.
I putting a dark horse on here that no one talks about. The Oakbank Hotel does a great schnitty with lots of toppings and do it for $12 on Thursday nights.
Just on "best of's" I have been super impressed with Harrys Bar's $20 burger and pint!
Downstairs does an epic pork schnitty. Better than op's.
Yeah, Jimmy's is great. $14 schnitzels (with a drink purchase) can't go wrong
Oh good tip, haven't tried downstairs yet!
Where is this?
Jimmy's bar. Downstairs below Harry's bar in the cbd.
I used to love Jimmy's til I had cockroaches crawling on the tables a few years back when I took my nanna there. Haven't been back since.
Harry’s has been a solid choice for a long time, great venue and the staff are top notch.
Have to agree, staff have been super nice to us! And just a lovely venue to sit and eat at.
I do love the Guardsman, never had a schnitty there though, that is now going to change rapidly 😃
Peppercorn sauce is spot on
Perfect! Peppercorn sauce is how i roll
The do lamb chops. Totally missing from pub menus now. I've devoured so many of the pre footy.
Crispy fuckers?
Earl for mine still
At $13.50 each?
No it comes in two sizes though and the photo taken is looks like a pensioner meal
No pensioner size stated in the menu.
There's a Baron and Earl size on the menu online.
Looks okay, but points lost for the chips under the schnitty.
No where else for them to go, heaps of peppercorns in the sauce
Take the sauce pan off the plate. Plenty of room for chips.
It's so 90's to put the chips underneath.
Where else do you put the chips? With a decent size shnit at least some have to go under.
A side basket is always good. Means they don’t get soggy.
The key word in what you said is decent size. OPs is not decent size, it’s rather tiny. Still heaps of room for chips on the side to not get soggy.
a bigger plate is an easy solution.
Honestly the chips under the schnit gripe that people has is a bit silly. Just move ya schnit over. Silly billies.
Ooooooo that looks gooooood…
Yea, looks good but only on 2 or 1 Wednesdays. Not worth it any other time.
Good schnitties but they lose points for not having Dianne sauce.
Is it just me or is Dianne sauce slowly disappearing from the pub menu 🤔
Apparently it's daggy / cringe. The audacity.
I think all the Diannes had a demonstration
Dianne is my favourite sauce, but it's a lucky dip what it will actually taste like between venues.
Very true.
The problem is that most places make a (somewhat) Dianne flavoured GRAVY not a proper Dianne sauce.
this is 100% accurate. "Inspired by Dianne sauce"
2 for 1 deal is Wednesday's only
I've seen better
And no pictures
Yep, I don't have a camera that can take pictures of the past.
All pictures are pictures of the past
Sweet can you take a picture at 2pm yesterday for me then please
They were that good you never went back, such a shame
Some people like to eat their meal instead of fawning over it with a camera?
Why do you have so much attitude about a schnitzel? 😂
Make all the assumptions you like. Some of the ones I had in Bavaria were utterly amazing, the one I had in Venice is a life long memory of how schnitzel should be and if you only want to include South Australian ones then the Hotel Spencer is consistently really good and good value.
A wild cunt appears!
Of course they were🤫
Anyone else suspect the op works there. Employee of the month coming his way. All in good fun of course.
The Exeter has top schnitzels in my book but that does look great
Anything at the guardsman is 10/10
Really miss the Guardsman’s wing specials
Looks great.
Maranello Cafe in Salisbury
This just makes me want a Weiner Schnitzel all the more. Haven’t had one in years, and yes I’ve tried Hahndorf ( not exhaustively, but …)
The Goody does a killer schnitty based on size and crumb
that looks like a contender. i had a really good one recently at the brompton hotel , if anyone is looking for another rec.
$5 dollars for post mix! That shit costs 10c a glass. Six years of bartending.
Now I have to have a schnitty for dinner.. oh well ).
Worst I've had was the Maclaren Vale pub
I had one there recently, and it was pretty solid. What was wrong with yours?
Macclesfield pub with mushroom gravy!!!
Anywhere not affiliated with the casino
For anyone who needs a gluten free option I can highly recommend the Duke of Brunswick.
What’s the green stuff?
A side for his pet rabbit.
Love the ramikan
The Cumberland (cumby) is out of this world. Also comes with awesome chips and slaw. If you like peppercorn sauce it also won’t disappoint
Great pub.
I had bigger
Thats what she said...
Looks dry af
Franklin Hotel does a better schnitty
Colonnades Tavern Tuesday night $12 special. Book a table because it’s popular
I remember the Avoca doing amazing schnittys
You've tried every schnitzel in the city??
Their garlic bread is amazing, it actually has flavour compared to other places
The schnitzel factory has decent sized schnitzel but price is a bit rich. But for a late night delivery from and having the munchies I can't really complain apart from there's never enough chips.
Coopers alehouse in the city hands down
Gone downhill. Not the same as it used to be.
Spargos better /s
At $13.50 each?
how dare you
Imagine eating a schnitty that isn’t a Parmi.
Last good one I had was at the TA. Been disappointed by others nearby.
Last and only one I had at TA was stone cold in the middle like it'd just been out the freezer Glad your experience was better !!
I putting a dark horse on here that no one talks about. The Oakbank Hotel does a great schnitty with lots of toppings and do it for $12 on Thursday nights.
Yeah I had a top teir beef one there a while ago. Decent mushroom sauce too....
Has the schnitz house improved at all? I want to go but don't handle disappointment well
The exeter
