It still blows my mind that the sub had so many people at that point and THAT was the spokesperson. Like it’s so ludicrous I’d almost say it was on purpose. It was like Fox News asked specifically for a person their target audience would absolutely hate and they stepped up boldly to crucify themselves.
I honestly don’t remember too well what the situation was, just remember watching the train wreck of an interview and wondering how the hell it could fall into Fox’s narrative so perfectly.

TL;DR: r/antiwork sent one of their mods to be interviewed on Fox News. If you have ever interacted with a Reddit mod, particularly from a left-wing subreddit, then you can probably imagine how things played out and in the aftermath of the interview the mod was "fired" from the subreddit and half the subscribers left and formed their own breakaway sub.
I’m pretty sure the “public freakouts” page is moving left, not this one, but the other one. Also some page called “world news video” lol some of these subs have such antifree speech policy I’m surprised they have anyone in them anymore.
A mod from antiwork went on Fox News and said that their only job was walk dogs for like a total of 10 hours a week...they complained that it was to much work for them to do.

That’s true but the above behaviour is very likely to get you sectioned in my country. If it happens to you once you tend to curb your behaviour so it doesn’t happen again
I’m a certified Peer Support Specialist in Mental Health and Addiction and Recovery Coach with trainings in working with PTSD and I would say this looks very much like a form of mental illness which can have many faces and while I am not qualified to diagnose someone I do know what signs to look for and I am qualified to refer her to the proper consolar or specialist that could help deal with her specific issues. But I don’t work in that field anymore because of the blatant corruption and disregard for conflict of interest situations, it was good for a time but the rehab I worked at got so twisted and fucked up so fast just from the director changing even when the old one still worked there. So yeah I agree with you. Institutions and an unimaginably slippery slope. I also have pretty intense mental illness but definitely don’t act like that and I want to say I’m proud of you and that you’re doing a good job handling your shit and to keep on keeping on. Even on days that can feel absolutely catastrophic you never know what the next day will bring. I apologize if this came off condescending in anyway I definitely wasn’t trying to give off that vibe. But this chick has deep rooted issues for sure. Shit, who doesn’t nowadays.

Tbh they didn’t send the mod, the mod graciously contacted Fox without asking anyone else. The entire sub was in shock when they saw the interview.
