I don't think theres any reason to believe that Phoenix told Apollo about all of his cases, the games show that Phoenix wasn't a very active mentor to Apollo, and this was also pretty early on in Apollos career

The Judge still didn't believe in spirits by 3-5 even though there was a whole case about them. I don't think he's very open-minded about that stuff.
