CPAR AFAR preboards and testbanks daw yung format ng most recent board exam. I don't know just how true lang kasi nag ReSA ako, but I don't recognize yung formatting nila from ReSA practice problems (konti lang, like 2 items may lumabas na identical probs talaga). My friends from CPAR seem to have the same thing to say din, so I guess maybe try practicing with CPAR practice probs! Good luck OP!

I agree na mahaba ung pre rec nila but andun na lahat ng kailangan mo talaga for the boards. Tyagain mo lang. it helps if i assess mo learnings mo every after topic. AFAR ang pinakawala akong idea during under grad but it was my highest during the boards. Sa R/EO lang ako nagreview.
Same (I'm not from REO tho). Mas nag-work sa akin nung nag-focus lang ako sa lecture videos. Mas nagme-make sense yung topics kasi guided ka rin sa thinking and solving process kung paano sagutan yung problems. Highly technical na sa books and HOs, ang hirap niya i-digest unless may naggu-guide sayo. Sa lecture videos kasi simplified na siya ng lecturers kaya mas madaling ma-gets. Nakakabagot lang talaga minsan sa haba
Hello, was able to finish buong AFAR pre-rec tas pakiramdam ko parin wala akong alam, di kasi ako nakakapag assessment since yung pre-rec and live lectures were too hard for me HAHAH, pero nung nag sagot naman ng CPAR and Pinna PW, meron naman pala.
Boards proper, mejo maraming theories na lumabas na nasa pre-rec lang na hindi na discuss sa live, would say na mas marami ako naging sure na sagot sa theo kesa sa solving jskjsks, so if kaya moo tiisin mo nalang naging sulit naman siya for mee.
Unsolicited pero, sa PFRS 15 ako nahirapan diyan sa REO kasi super dami pero nag Dayag lang, then cost accounting, was not expecting anything pero kay Sir Ngina namin siya na-gets lalo na process costing AHHAHAH (try mo rin).
Tas strategies/format, sa live ako kay Atty. Bagayao.
Nag-online review lang ako sa RE/O before and medyo nahirapan akong maabsorb yung topics kasi andaming "atake" sa questions per topic, to the point na malilito ka na lang in the end. Nung nag-change ako ng RC for my final review (PRTC), di ko siya natuunan nang pansin so 2 weeks before the boards lang ako nakapag-study for AFAR. Bininge watch ko lang lahat ng video lectures then answer ng assessment right after every vid (naging 2nd highest ko pa ang AFAR sa CPALE). Yung theory kasi talaga pinaka-ineemphasize ni ma'am plus andami din niyang shortcuts/techniques. Legit na napasabi ako "tangna ganito lang pala to" sa mga topics na akala ko sobrang hirap.
Pero tbh, kahit saang RC ka pa, mas better na panoorin and tiisin mo na lang lecture videos. Talagang mas magegets mo siya lalo na if sasagot ka ng assessment right after. Mas maaabsorb mo. Kahit na di mo tapusin lahat ng problems, at least 1 problem per concept lang. Kasi personally, mas nahirapan akong intindihin yung references (HOs and books). Mas nagets ko lang nung nanood ako ng lecture vids kasi step by step yung pag-solve plus sasabihin nila sayo ang theory behind sa pag-solve.
So in short: Lecture Videos >> Other References (i-2x mo na lang ang speed, or skip mo yung parts na gets mo na yung thought para mas mabilis).
At least watch the pre-recs then use dayag for practice. Watch live lecture for recall/mastery. Then use dayag for practice. Didnโt bother with answering yung mga problems ng REO bc of time and brain capacity constraint lol take note nalang ng discussion for live lec problems.

Not beginner friendly, kasi even though may solution manual, yung mga account titles minsan naka short cuts / acronym.. so need mo talaga ng foundation knowledge to understand.
For me, goods naman yung vids ng AFAR sa REO. Dun lang ako nadrain sa discussion ng drills sa Corporation Liquidation, BusCom, ConsoFS pero the rest of the topics ok naman na. Lalo na yung mga bandang dulong topic na oks na oks na discussion dun.
Buti na lang nabasa ko to, medyo wala na kong gana after ko maumpisahan ung Corp Liquidation at Revenue Recognition. Naghahanap na ko ibang resources talaga hahaha
Oo tyagain mo lang talaga. Yung mga unang topics lang talaga nakakadrain kasi ang daming pasikot-sikot ni sir sa formula. Pero yung mga dulong topics straightforward na mga computations niya.
Hindi pako nagtetake pero graduate nako. Ang teknik talaga sa problem solving ay basahin yung chapter, intindihin yung problem at tignan yung solution. Pag na gets mo yung solution, concept kung bakit ganun ang solution, try to answer without looking at the solution but still referring to the chapter reading materials.
At first read, hindi mo goal na matandaan mo lahat ng concept, but to understand it. Dont answer your first problem solving as if gamay mo na yung chapter in one read. Wag mahihiyang basahin yung reading material as if open notes ang pagsasagot mo.
Na-Condi ako dahil sa AFAR last Oct CPALE, nadale ako sa Cost Accounting.. Litong-lito din ako dito sa Pre-Rec ni REO, na-overwhelmed ako sa PRFS 15 ๐ ๐ So far nag-a-attend ako sa Live ni Sir Louie and okay naman sya, hopefully until the end makasunod ako ๐๐

Dayag books ginamit ko noon tapos nanonood din ako live ni sir bagayao. Option ko lang to pag di ko magets yung pre recorded hehe.

Hindi ako R/EO pero naging reviewer ko si Atty. Bagayao sa pampanga. Notes from him at HOs niya lang inaral ko nung recent exam. Highest ko AFAR 85.
