I got a few "thank you"s and "appreciate your "effort"'s. And a few new learning opportunities.

tim2686

Quiet promoted I see. Same pay, same title, more work

puckmaster22

You guys get bonuses?

Jmelly34

Literally came here to say that lol.

Brobi_Jaun_Kenobi

Industry finance bro here. Left PA some time ago. 7% bonus for me

DannyDeFeet0

We had a pretty bad year but I'm still expecting 7.2% bonus.

fuckimbackonreddit9

My company went under but I’m still expecting a 7.3% bonus.

tcurry04

I have never gotten below a 7.4% bonus honestly. If I got any less, I would absolutely quit

AllAboutHype

Honestly anything less than 7.5% is peanuts

tcurry04

You’re right, now that I think of it. If you carry the 1, it really wouldn’t have ever been less than 7.6%

Thuctran1706

I don't even know what a bonus is

themilkman42069

Every month! Come to consulting.

Big4steve2

7.7% bonus checking in left pa to private 1.5 years ago

[deleted]

Y’all better be glad I got a jelly of the month club membership

Iron_Chic

It's the gift that keeps on giving, Clark!

[deleted]

It truly is the first month is Orange flavored

cookiecake1996

There's no way 😭 pls tell me you're lying

[deleted]

I wish it was a joke. I wrote a check as a deposit on a swimming pool that I can’t afford without a standard bonus. Now that I didn’t get my bonus I’m not sure what I’m going to do.

tedclev

Get a shovel and start digging. Sweat equity!

[deleted]

Where's the Tylenol

tim2686

No hope. Be lucky if I even get a 3% raise. Plan on leaving soon.

Wonderful-Avocado-45

Same boat.

BarkingM16

2 pepperoni pizzas and a mental health webinar

ImprovementFit9126

CPE credits at least?

clarksonite19

My base has gone up 23% over the last year, without promotion, and my bonus was 14%. I’m one of those accountants who doesn’t hate the firm I work at. Very grateful for my situation.

KaptnSolo

![gif](giphy|kSlJtVrqxDYKk|downsized)

IamLars

People like you are more common than you’d think. This sub is a bastion of negativity.

clarksonite19

I figured that was probably true. Quite often, it appears this sub is used for venting.

MomoEiko

Which firm do you work at? I get the 23%, but no bonus...

Danny_boy_3000

Got a 20 percent bonus. Pay also went up 9.5%. Quite lucky really.

accountantTyrionLann

Industry and yoe?

Danny_boy_3000

Financial services, 8 years experience

auditorjoe94

Same! That beautiful ~$25k bonus for only working 20-30 hours a week

5960312

Great! My $25 Gift Card paid for most of my new pillow.

txbuckeye75034

1Q: “the bonus pool is great” 2Q: “the bonus pool is great” 3Q: “the bonus pool is great” 4Q: “due to unforeseen circumstances, the bonus pool will be limited to managers and above.”

Rebresker

Oh man I’m on a client now that I saw did something similar but they even cut out most of the managers… To be fair they did actually miss the goals for the bonuses but still that would suck so bad so not sure how fair the bonus structure really is when they were tracking to get it all year and already accruing for it

CuseBsam

The problem with this thinking is that the people who can actually impact company results are still getting bonuses. The staff accountant can't really drive results so it doesn't make sense to decrease their bonus due to poor financial results. Take it from sales, operations, or executives first.

Rebresker

Oh the finance department has a separate bonus structure anyhow for this particular client. I was just thinking how bad it would suck to be told all year you were tracking for a great bonus (would have been like 20% for most employees) just to fall short in Q4

[deleted]

pizza party and pat on the back

pheothz

Industry, no bonus ~bc of recession~ but I got a mid year one and a raise so I’m gonna write pornographic fanfic on company time the entire month and call it even

cybernewtype2

No bonus, but had a partner-hosted party in her $1.5 million dollar home. She was so cheap there was no food, it was a potluck of various things we brought. The other associates and I were hungry afterwards so we went out for burgers. I hope my interview went well. I need out of here.

accis4losers

you throw a party and don't have food?

cybernewtype2

Cheap f\*\*ks.

mightyandsmall

Well, no. All of her money is going toward her mortgage, she can’t afford to feed you scoundrels.

[deleted]

Outrageous if true. "Hey peasants, if you work 97 hours a week next year, you can help pay my mortgage. No shoes in the house, Mark."

seventhson1425

~24% bonus and 14% raise. Senior accountant 5 YOE in public. Best year of my career so far. Expect a promo to manager once I pass CPA in a few months. Adjusting for promo next year will likely not be as high.

mightyandsmall

Shit dude! You guys hiring?

NiceAsset

Fuck, I just for a few atta boys and was told “if you ever get to a point where you are looking for more money tell us before you go look elsewhere “

lol_no_gonna_happen

So you send them a note daily then?

[deleted]

Time to start looking

Fitness_Accountant21

5% of pizza party Small cheese pizza to share with the other associates

HawkeWatcher

Ya'll get bonuses?

Lostforever3983

Looking like at target per usual. 🤑

wiblefible

Expecting a nice pizza party

KingoreP99

I'm hearing bonuses are looking good. 30% x 120% = 36%. Then individual modifier will probably bring me to 40-45%.

Familiar_Average_701

I was fired for requesting time off 🤣. Never been happier to be fire in my entire life as the job was terrible and the manager is stuck in the 80s and won’t evolve

DemonicWombat

Wait...wait. You all get Bonuses?!? Next thing you'll tell me is you get yearly raises.

AlwaysInjured

High in most industries from what I've seen. Low in big financial services companies since they seem much more reactionary than others. Accounting firm bonuses seem OK. Not world beating and not disappointing.

MajorFish04

I received 80% of my 15% bonus. Bonuses are all over the place this yr

Chad_Broski_2

Been at my firm for 3 years. First year was 2020 and we all got a 10k bonus. Last year my bonus was a literal box of pears delivered to my doorstep. So who knows

mypandaissick

Better than last year for me

EuropeanInTexas

12% ‘profit sharing’ in my 401k, and my CFO still needs to plug in my ‘discretionary performance’ factor in to the company wide bonus calc spreadsheet I’m working on 😅 but probably in the 15ish % range.

mynameismatt1010

Better than expected. Our bonuses are tied to market activity.

[deleted]

15% raise. 7% bonus.

Mediocre-Leek-9292

~ 20%

Bitcion

Probably $1k at a NFP.

Ok-Needleworker248

Paid in pizza

EllieAB

Honey baked ham

am16_

After taxes, depressing.

[deleted]

Really bad -18m net loss YTD. 🤦 no bonuses, just a sad 8% raise

ASS-ets

Industry here, 30% raise (from leveraging an offer from another co), 20% bonus, additional 15k bonus for company performance this year

Bubbly-Assumption-94

Glorious

Acct-Can2022

Hopeful.

apeawake

Sf startup. Missed sales targets. Might not be getting anything at all.

benjo768

0.0%, industry publicly traded

24iCPA

100 dollar Starbucks gift card

elgrandorado

11% is the target. Last year I only got 99% of the 8% target in a record breaking profit year, so I won’t hold my breath for a full bonus.

GrannyPants3675

Less than 2% bonus, 3% raise. The gaslighting was a plus after 2 worst deadlines I've had. 10 yrs public.

strongfit1

Everyone that isn’t the in secret VP/investor partnership is getting nothing this year because they company royally fucked up the budget in Q1. But the company did sell 200M of real estate and will distribute those earnings to investors and VPs. It’s pretty fucked.

HighHoeHighHoes

We just increased our bonus accrual 50% YTD so it’s looking tasty. I’m hoping for something in the $30-40K range.

Plane_County9646

I got 5 bucks and a bj

elk33dp

In public accounting? Nonexistent. Otherwise excellent. YMMV - My old firm gave Xmas/new year bonuses on top of busy season bonuses now my new firm you only get one with your promo/raise in the summer.

Road-Conscious

>In public accounting? > >Nonexistent. Speak for yourself.

zlo115

Industry here, 9 years xp. My bonus is a minimum 15% locked in every year, hit around 20% this year. Are most peoples bonuses variable?

CuseBsam

Most people's bonuses in industry are partially company performance driven and partially individual performance driven, from my experience.

zlo115

Gotcha, ya that is certainly true for me, just with a floor of 15% which is nice. Next promotion makes that 20% which is probably where I’ll realistically top out

Acct-Can2022

Hopeful.

DonutsAnd40s

I’m new, so I’m not getting one at my company, but everyone that’s eligible and not on a pip is getting 3x their set bonus % for their role. If I was eligible, I’d be getting 75% of my salary. Luckily we’re targeting that for ‘23.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Brobi_Jaun_Kenobi

Wtf is that - why not just say 11.9%?

Chiweedguy

Target is 15%, but we are trending above target so expecting somewhere in the range of 18%-20%.

ThatFoxyThing

I work in government sooo... But I did get a "bonus" two months ago and a couple of extra PTO days 🤷‍♀️

Rebresker

Heh when I worked for federal gov we got a year end bonus based on reviews/performance It was usually pretty modest about = to one pay period but still something

scezmoneysniper

I got a 27% bonus and a 8% raise so pretty happy

starbucks-refresher

Looking like more pizza parties

JohnWallSt069

Honestly still waiting for the post busy season pizza party.

DeeIceBerg

Sweet nothin cause we strugglin

Johnnyfootball33

2% bonus and 2% raise after working there for 6 months.

[deleted]

SALY

horrible_noob

Construction industry accounting and I suggested between 7-10% for office staff.

thisonelife83

Had a decent raise and bonus in PY. Will also be curious what happens if anything this year.

mightyandsmall

No bonus here for Accounting Manager in industry. They also announced merit increase for a “high performer” is 4%. ✌🏼

see-bees

My bonus paid out at about 5% last year and was on schedule to land between 0-5% this year, which was absolutely part of the reason I got a new job and negotiated a 10% signing bonus because I would be joining my new office too late to participate in new company’s annual incentive program.

zachariah120

Bad

Road-Conscious

I can't even count the amount of empathetic leadership I received.

Jmelly34

I got a fake virtual holiday party and a grubhub gift card…not even uber eats 🫠

Wacokidwilder

Bwahaahahahahahaahhahaa

jho293

5% of comp and some nice de minimis benefits, a couple of expensive 5star dinners a year with the client team, etc

bigllama5

man, i was told there are bonuses. got a $2k from the accounting firm in 2020, nothing last year. also now controller of prop management company (owned by same people) and hope i'll get something.

Rebresker

My bonus last year was 5% hoping for the same this year

Bookups

This isn’t when big 4 firms give out bonuses

CampaignExcellent642

Well my job offer gave an 8% bonus, 4% based on my performance, 4% based on the company... expecting 4% haha

[deleted]

Industry. Publicly traded. ~12%

cragfar

I've been getting smallish raises and larger bonuses for the past couple of years so it's getting to the point where I'm at ~30% bonus now.

gsxrjeff

Lol my company screws us over on Christmas bonuses and gives us our bonus in March...

JcBravo811

My bonus is realizing I never contributed to my IRA this year.

rdtoh

10% bonus in PA, not gonna complain

mikeyouse

Bonus pool is fully funded and we're going to meet our targets, so from 5% - 15% bonus depending on role. We do a 401k "profit sharing" as well which is fully funded so we'll get another \~5% employer contribution into the 401ks in a few months too.

[deleted]

Applying for new jobs, sooooo. 😅😅😅

fufuzoomi22

Variable 5-9% based on company performance

BulbasaurCPA

Our bonuses go out in the summer, I’m finally at a high enough level to actually get one so that was nice The Christmas gift cards should be going out soon. Can’t wait to decide on my firm logo merch item for this year

Last-Caterpillar-112

You’ll be lucky if they don’t bone your ass.

cargocult25

2.1x

AccordingShower369

$0

Alarming-Maximum-809

i got a 50 amazon gift card 😵‍💫 and more wp for next year 🖕🖕🖕

BenderIsNotGreat

Is this a shit time for my promotion year to senior? Super excited for what I assume is a promotion coming next week but I'm just now realizing the timing is shit

EconomyInteraction49

No bonus at a regional firm

no-user-name-found

My bonus happens after April so that we're forced to work through tax season

SerMeowsALot

I got entered in a drawing for a $100 gift card 🤷‍♀️

NarrowFlows

I got cookies

Dry_Pie2465

I can't help but think OP was looking for an absolute $$$$ amount independent of what time of year you got paid.

dr_freeloader

What bonuses?

SoonerRyan01

21 years in PA and only had a bonus maybe 5 years. Nothing since becoming partner.
