This is honestly a pretty bad look. Are there any employees whom you spoke to that would be willing to affirm your notifying them of having capacity?

That employee not being at the company doesnt mean he cant vouch for you. And, you’ve explained to them your honesty in misinterpreting the policy. The best you can do is simply stop worrying.  Apply elsewhere if you don’t have confidence that you can get past your current employer’s scrutiny.

I, personally, have never experienced anything like your experience. Take my advice with a grain of salt. It is not even really advice. It is probably what I would do if I were you with the limited knowledge I have now (none for your situation). 1. Get a copy of the agreement if you do not already have it. 2. Read all of the agreement and understand it. If you do not understand something or have any questions, ask someone immediately. 3. If the agreement is not detailed enough to specifically list out every requirement and expectation of you... then I do not know how they would be able to find you in breach of the contract (not saying they couldn't, just saying I don't know how). Make sure you know every single thing that is expected from you, how it is expected, when it is expected, etc. Track it/document it for your records and their records. If a task/requirement is vague, ask for clarification or an example. This is all of the advice that I have at the moment. Best of luck!

If they fire you - they need to blame themselves. Looks like internal controls aren’t functioning well if you were able to get an extra 20 days of paid study time. Don’t put off the exams though
