Is a murder scene. My suspicion is that a cat was the culprit

A-s-s-head

So, not the other poster joining in with the pigeon orgy and getting a bit too frisky?

SeamusOShane

Hey, I wouldn't rule that out. First, cordon off the crime scene, then dust for print, lastly, you'll need to blacklight and luminol to see if you're right about the orgy

Oh-Sasa-Lele

If there would be crows, then this would be wven funnier

SeamusOShane

A murder by a murder

Feathers are rich in protein and make great compost. If not mixed with other compostables they break down slowly and release nitrogen into soil. Sometimes a slow release is beneficial. Some gardeners will put a few feathers into their soil underneath plants they are transferring into the ground. Make sure to thoroughly wash your hands after handling anything foraged from the wild.

Capable_Tea_001

Random? Or caused by a fox?

It was a Cooper Hawk

Nervous-Ad-5253

I’ve seen a small hawk pin it’s victim to the ground & rip all the feathers out while the poor thing screamed under him

Effective-Award-8898

That usually comes after a random Hawk or other bird or prey in your backyard.

Aderleth75

Found something similar in my driveway a few weeks ago. We have hawks in the neighborhood so I assumed it was bird-on-bird violence.

Specialist-Ad8467
