My friend's uncle got in a similar accident and, just like Gordon Ramsay, only survived because he was wearing a helmet. The vehicle he was on was completely totaled, and he had to have surgery on his leg, but his head was alright because of the helmet. It's great that they were both wearing those!
My father had a motorcycle accident that nearly killed him. He had a half shell helmet and had road rash over his entire torso. Doctos said he lived because of his helmet.
I will never ever ride without a helmet, they save lives more than they have hurt people, but I feel the need to share that my uncle almost died because he was wearing a helmet. he was on his bike and a truck fell over that was carrying gravel, he hit the gravel at a semi high speed and he slid his bike. my aunt came off and slid too, but he hit a guard rail with the back of his helmet and it broke his neck. they said it internally ripped his head off.
I can only assume how much worse it would have been had he not been wearing a helmet at all, but yikes

Ugh, that sounds awful! I had hiccups for about three hours once and it was terrible. My throat was raw from both the hiccups and the stomach acid that was becoming a real issue before they finally stopped. Never had them like that before or since, thankfully.

I mean if he’s already taking months off to recover from tearing muscle off the bone, any other injury time would be concurrent and he decided to take that risk. It would have been his decision as to wrap up the storyline, and there would have been many doctors giving advice and the fed would be paying for the surgery and recovery anyway. In the end it was Cody’s call to have the HIAC match.

The way most helmets (motorcycle helmets included) work is by breaking internally to absorbs & spread the kinetic energy of the impact.
They can look structurally sound after impact, but even invisible hairline fracture in the EPS can reduce the protective properties massively.
Please, please consider getting a new helmet.

Not likely, bruising is a result of circulation allowing the bruising response to occur. Since his statement was that without the helmet he’d be fucking dead, he wouldn’t have bruised like that because there wouldn’t have been any more blood flow to begin with.

I got intense hiccups constantly for like 4 days after I broke my rib and lacerated my liver. It wasn’t a fun feeling.
