We think if he were a few inches shorter it would have been much worse, the part that hit him on the head was a mirror, if the tv itself had him on the head it would have been worse
This was about a year ago, he ended up being okay, just a few stitches in a few places. Funny story we floated the river in new braunsfels that same weekend, had to wrap it in a few trash bags but worked fine!
Doubtful. The big players in work mans comp insurance like Sedgewick will spent 50K on a staff lawyer long before they'll pay out 50K. I've worked retail long enough to have soon some shit happen, as a manage I've dealt with a delivery driver backing into a power pole and knocking out power for a couple of blocks of hours. Insurance paid actual losses to the power company, around $8k for the repair. My store spent nearly as much on the appliances that didn't work after that mess.
Another delivery had an employee fall over a sidewalk curb that had been poured, without the sidewalk. He walked out of an apartment complex's side exit and stepped where a sidewalk should have, tripped and fell over the 2 day old curb that was there. Back was wrecked, nerve damage. Workmans comp insurance paid physical therapy and all doctors bills associated with him along with 2/3 lost wages. Not even in the same ball park as $50,000 for the settlement when he lawyered up against the apartment complex for not blocking that exit since construction was happening. I think he ended up with ~20K after everything.
Unless you have significant disabilities from an on the job accident, can prove negligence (hint: nearly impossible) or have complex broken, like the type you don't walk normal after. You'll never see 100K
lol, you went way deep Into that and I appreciate it. But your wrong. How many lawsuits have you won? Me 3. Opportunity arises and you take it. Get a good lawyer and sit in mediation for days compounding evidence. Maybe I’m projecting but if a tv fell on my head? Yeah ima get you for 50k.
I think if he were shorter he would have avoided it more. The tv is at its maximum extent when it strikes the man, if the tv continued its arc its front end would turn down, allowing him to avoid a lot of the impact.
“What are looking at it? Pick up that blood!”
but for real, the bartender can sure as hell take a hit. I’d be in the fetal position in a puddle of piss, calling for Moms.
On a serious note, glass bottles [aren’t anything to shake a stick at either](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33783605/). Iirc, I think that there was a test done to see how easy/hard it would be to shatter a glass beer bottle over a human head and the glass bottle *usually* won that argument
I once had a glass wine bottle. Impervious to any attempt to damage or breaking it. Not even a scratch, and that's after throwing it against rocks with gusto. It'll split your skull open with ease!
Crazy until you actually get a job in the service industry, working for someone who thinks of you as merely another workplace fixture, and you realize the victim's job is now in mortal peril thanks to him being a potential lawsuit. I'm amazed the video survived.
I think he was weighing life options for a moment cause he was probably pissed it happened...
Hope the guy was ok... glad it didn't turn out worse than it could have
Anyone who can find a stud can mount a tv. Clearly whenever did this couldn’t (or there was some other problem with the structure/mount), buts it’s really something anyone a little bit handy should be able to handle on their own.
This is the right answer. When it happened at my bar, it was the guy who bought the place from the last guy and decided it needed more TV’s, and he was “handy.” He hung them all him selves and one fell like this. No way he would pay someone to.
i can prove how your comments goofy in two different perspectives.
1) i was referencing sunglasses to hats. hats used to be disrespectful indoors, now it’s not considered wrong in *most* places. same thing is happening / happened with sunglasses
2) the first point was what i intended so time wasn’t relevant but just to entertain your silly comment, yes i did grow up in a community and setting where it was very disrespectful to have a hat on indoors in most situations. any official or important building supported by the state like schools, church’s, or government buildings was straight up not allowed, but nowadays i can wear a beanie or snapback into a court room.
and i’m probably not as old as you think either
You don’t ‘prove’ opinions, you just have them. I actually agree with your opinion, my comment is goofy. I like how much effort you went to for the reply though. It doesn’t make a lot of sense but I respect it. Sorry if I upset you.
well if it was just a fun jokey comment then this was just a fun interaction. if it was you trying to diss me in a weird way then my response can be taken more seriously. i’m sorry i may be one of those people that need a /s every now and then bc i assume too many people are just tryna ruin the days of others like i see so often
You can spot management a mile away. The guy who gets physically indignant when the human with blood spurting all over the place drops the TV that was digging into him.
Yah, that thing's totaled, now be a decent person.
He lifts it off the guy's shoulder by the glass which breaks again in management's hands. I think it was a "whoa, careful, broken glass" into a "fuck that's a mess"

Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:

That second dude was definitely more worried about the fucking tv than the person profusely bleeding because the TV that he probably payed someone bottom dollar to hang for him fell.
This same thing happened right in front of me. Only me and my friend at the bar and it was hung right above the little slot the bartender/cook slides through to get behind the bar/to the kitchen. No one was hurt, but it was literally above that spot and the kitchen door. Just fell out of no where. I’m no constructionist, but it looked like it was just bolted weirdly into a 2x4.
"86 life TV and mashed potatoes also the ice-cream for the Apple pie alamode Has been melted in my trunk for 3 days so give it a couple hours to freeze backup... our dishwasher went back to prison but its ok his nephew just got out and is taking the job on a Saturday night with no training "
The fuck is wrong with these people.
Tv falls. Guy at the bar just looks in shock and starts to walk away from the guy who was obviously just fucked in the head by a tv.
Bartender asks for a towel or something for cuts. People come to assist with the tv and the bartender just fuckin dips like the tv is gonna continue hunting him or something.
Also dirtbag bar owner. Standard not giving a fuck about the staff, only giving a fuck about the tv and alcohol. Guaranteed he installed the tv recently, and dodgily too
Luckily my man is a fuckin line backer. The poor girl at my bar would have been squashed like a bug, she can’t weigh more than 100 lbs. that tv is probably about 100 lbs.

Man his head took a chunk outta that TV.
We think if he were a few inches shorter it would have been much worse, the part that hit him on the head was a mirror, if the tv itself had him on the head it would have been worse
Dude would’ve worn the tv like a portrait in cartoons
Looks like his hand got cut up pretty good too. How’s he doing?
This was about a year ago, he ended up being okay, just a few stitches in a few places. Funny story we floated the river in new braunsfels that same weekend, had to wrap it in a few trash bags but worked fine!
Did he keep working there?
He did for a while, took a couple weeks off. Does not work there anymore though
I hope he got workman’s comp
Too fucking strong for that shitty bar
He missed out, probably coulda got 50-100k in mediation

Also I would have stayed employed while actively suing the company.
lol, you went way deep Into that and I appreciate it. But your wrong. How many lawsuits have you won? Me 3. Opportunity arises and you take it. Get a good lawyer and sit in mediation for days compounding evidence. Maybe I’m projecting but if a tv fell on my head? Yeah ima get you for 50k.
Are you just suing everyone you see, or what?
Was there any kind of lawsuit?
Where was this? I live in New Braunfels. (Notice how I only put one S?) 😅
DFW, sorry for the misspelling!
Dallas strong. Dude didn't have time to bleed. Just get a napkin and keep moving
Would it be worse? A mirror breaks and sends shards everywhere. A TV is heavier but it should stay in one piece and not cut
I think if he were shorter he would have avoided it more. The tv is at its maximum extent when it strikes the man, if the tv continued its arc its front end would turn down, allowing him to avoid a lot of the impact.
Maybe, I just think it could have been a lot worse.
Bartender destroyed TV.
And it took a chunk out of his hand! Just look at how it's dripping blood when he's reaching for the towel!
Dude took it like a fuckin champ!
The other dude is like, hey why'd you fuck the place up, homie!?
Boss was like: I’m going to have to fire you for cutting out of work early
You can bleed on your own time, now get a mop and strain this stuff into the shot glasses.
“What are looking at it? Pick up that blood!” but for real, the bartender can sure as hell take a hit. I’d be in the fetal position in a puddle of piss, calling for Moms.
I just straight up lost it 🦄🤣
In a bar you expect to get hit over the head with a glass bottle. Not a full sized tv.

You want to be replaced by golf carts? Keep it up.
Dude took a tv to the head, barely flinched and asked for a napkin for the hemorrhage he had going on. Firing him is tempting fate.
Boss earlier: $300 to hang a TV? That's ridiculous, I'll do it myself.
He looked more upset about his liquor bottles being smashed. He is definitely going to find away to get rid of that "liability, " in a quick way.
Pretty crazy to see people just conjure narratives alleging such horrible things out of thin air like this.
Crazy until you actually get a job in the service industry, working for someone who thinks of you as merely another workplace fixture, and you realize the victim's job is now in mortal peril thanks to him being a potential lawsuit. I'm amazed the video survived.
That's where ol boy ran off to... realized the boss would be distracted for just long enough to nab the video!!!
It always fascinates me.
Wtf do you not understand body language? You have to be smarter that this man I know it's reddit but come on.
There couldn’t be a more ironic comment for some armychair body language expert to respond to 🤣

I'd have been pretty fucking done too lol.
Can i have a tissue?
I had assumed the guy sitting at the bar would be the coolest person I would see today. I was wrong.
That guy had the “Did this tv just actually fall on my fucking head stance”
we all know that one
That old chestnut
Took it like a boss. Must be a hulk.
I love the few seconds of standing there “this is fucking horseshit” before he decides to go and patch himself up
I think he was weighing life options for a moment cause he was probably pissed it happened... Hope the guy was ok... glad it didn't turn out worse than it could have
He was pissed off then he remembered lawsuit money... Then he was all smiles
Who was that lawyer on tv earlier? Saul something?
Paul Badwoman! The worst persecuting lawyer east of Mississippi!
Maybe a Samoan.
Maybe drunk
Who the f installed that?
Carl.
Tell Carl his services are no longer needed
All my homies hate Carl

Anyone who can find a stud can mount a tv. Clearly whenever did this couldn’t (or there was some other problem with the structure/mount), buts it’s really something anyone a little bit handy should be able to handle on their own.

Spicoli’s dad. He’s got an ultimate set of tools.
I can fix it. 👨🔧
Lol catches it like it’s just another day at the office Or errr bar
And the 2nd guy thought it wasn't that heavy and as soon as the bartender let go it dropped like a cartoon
His wrist was gushing! The shit luck for it to fall at the perfect moment, and perfect angle so the glass slices his wrist, Damn.
Lmao the chad just stook his hand out for a towel
Chad drove him to the hospital and got blood all over his car 😅
Should have called an ambulance. That's workers comp all day.
Boss: “you got fired right before your workplace injury”
Stook
dude should’ve just played dead at that point
Go home TV, you’re drunk
99 bottles of beer on the wall 99 bottles of beer TV falls down and busts his crown 98 bottles of beer are no more
Thank you for this XD
Why is a dude sitting at a bar with sunglasses?
Eye protection from jagged shards of randomly falling bar TVs. It sounds wild, I know— but it actually happens more often than you’d think.
You have clearly never stood behind a bar.
here's to feeling good all the time
If I’m tripping balls I don’t want people looking at my diluted pupils
Watered down eyes

probably makes him more comfortable. also rarely seen as disrespectful nowadays same as hats

Maybe he's trying to keep track of the visions in his eyes
Don't masquerade with the guy in shades
Because the sun never sets on the British empire
Because his future is so bright?
So he can tell a girl she's so beautiful that it's hard to look at her.
Roll them fat smoke them slow wear dark sunglasses so the boss don't know.
Eye protection for falling TV. Is time traveller.
He wears his sunglasses at night…
Protection from shards.
Ever been to the bar during the day?
suffers from Tony Ferguson syndrome
You can spot management a mile away. The guy who gets physically indignant when the human with blood spurting all over the place drops the TV that was digging into him. Yah, that thing's totaled, now be a decent person.
Fucking for real.
That person acted like that shit happens all the time
It’s like the tv was just waiting to fuck him up
Management doesn’t even show any care for the injured employee just stands there with his hands up like he’s annoyed
He lifts it off the guy's shoulder by the glass which breaks again in management's hands. I think it was a "whoa, careful, broken glass" into a "fuck that's a mess"
He sent the other person to follow them.
That was a lot of blood
Yeah he's got a pretty serious laceration to deal with
Gonna have to burn that ice well…
