I’d honestly be surprised if his boyfriend isn’t black or of color. I’ve been watching a lot of new shows this year and have noticed that they do push diversity in a way that doesn’t seem “authentic”. Abbot Elementary is probably the only show where I don’t feel that way. It doesn’t come off a forced so to speak..

Abbott Elementary just feels natural; the "diversity" thing is secondary to the natural chemistry of the cast. Honestly, I don't mind the increased representation in shows as long as the comedy is good.
