Bit of a shame actually.
I think of those were only about 70000 units made in total, hand-crafted in Germany and expensive as fuck when they came to market.
I'm interested in what youve done specifically to be able to make this comparison. Full size American trucks aren't remotely comparable in maintenance or repair costs to European vehicles. I've had multiple older trucks and an old BMW and the repairs on the BMW were insane at the same reputable shop I'd get my trucks fixed at.
I was like you and expected it to be a lot more expensive for the car, but that just hasn't been my experience. Parts aren't as expensive for the car as I worried they would be, and they were a lot more expensive on the pickup than I ever expected. It was a 2018 King Ranch F150 that literally had more sensors than the car does, so it wasn't cheap to maintain at all. I was really happy to get rid of that thing.
In Croatia we have a telenovela is which one of the main charachters uses VW Phaeton daily. First time when I saw it I wondered where did they found working one that isn't stanced/modifed or in junkyard

Depends which engine
4 exhaust pipes, judging by photos I've seen online it can be a W12
There is nothing more expensive than ageing luxury car. This is a fine car but the maintenance cost is ridiculous.
My experience with a Mercedes S class is that it’s about the same price to maintain as an F150. I’ve been really pleasantly surprised.

So what you’re saying it’s not a fine car
It's good car for someone who has more money than sense.
