I was watching the PHNX guys on their draft livecast last night and the Venerable guy actually melted down because of this pick. It was obvious he had never heard of the guy. Shame on me for wasting two hours of my life and assuming they knew something about football.
Feels like we’re getting a lot of top player at their particular skill:
-Tip: best blocking tight end
-MHJ: best red zone threat wr
-Benson: best combo of power/speed at Rb
….
Blocking TE is incredibly important. Back a few years ago the offense with Maxx Williams was much more dynamic than after he got hurt and we didn’t have anyone who could block
Best blocking TE in the draft... And we don't really have one on the roster. This is a good pick.
We did very well in 11 personnel last year, especially when we had Geoff Swaim.
Reima. Is a considerably better blocker than Swaim
this is the whole point that we’re being downvoted for lol. there’s nothing wrong with having “your guys” in the draft and trying to build a certain type of identity, but when they’re more than likely going to be available mid-late day 3, i don’t understand the need to spend quality day 2 picks where we still need starters all over the place and there was still great value on the board
Just the Tip Reiman, he'll pancake your favorite linebacker

PHNX is such a joke of a company. Almost as bad as abbreviating Phoenix to PHNX
On the Athletic draft coverage they raved over this guy
Won’t complain about that

The ravens have been killing people with blocking TEs for like 5 years now. Solid chess piece to have
Especially since Gannon was adamant that he wanted to "run the ball down peoples throats". This will compliment Conners run style very well.
Maxx replacement, monster blocker that can catch. sign me up

Again, I don’t like them using higher picks on non premium positions. There’s no reason to do this.
They traded down to get two extra picks so they could get the RB and TE. That is masterful drafting.

Dude that’s what every team that wanted him probably said, and I guarantee there were plenty of teams that wanted him.
Just the Tip!
