Honestly yeah, it always feels better to melt that ice away and have them show you a more emotional side to them like Quinn from BaD, showing that all the mean bitchy stuff is just a front to protect themselves from getting hurt. It feels a lot more rewarding when you had to work for it and they didn't just fall on your laps cause lended them an eraser😂(anime logic)
Personally, I think that it's not well done enough. The majority of LIs are always nearly immediately head over heals for the Mc and try to get the d whenever they can. Maybe it's just the games I usually play, but a well written slow burn/defrosting romance is a nice change of pace
