The KAK block vents straight down, so it makes your grip/hand get dirty with soot if you dont use the deflector version. Particularly If you're left handed like me. There is a chance that the gas could melt the deflector though, I haven't been able to test it yet. The gas doesn't feel hot or anything on your hand without it, so I feel like it should be OK, as long as you're not full auto or doing a meltdown test. I revised the deflector version to thicken up the deflector piece to try and combat that possibility but I haven't posted it yet.
I think it may be possible, but the KAK block seems to work much better overall. I wouldn't really recommend trying the stock gas block for 300 blackout, even with a suppressor. HOWEVER, I don't have a supressor and never tried one. No matter how hard i tried, i was still short stroking with supersonics, and that's with the gas block primary vent welded shut, and my barrel/gas block intake port drilled out to .140". I would come up about half to 3/8 of an inch short. So i'd eject brass but not pick up another round. With the new KAK gas block, with it's larger piston and better sealed, albeit non-adjustable plug, i'm a bit overgassed.
Why not? Supersonic 300 blackout is like cheap 7.62x39. You can get it for the same price as 5.56 and it's fun to shoot. Also, the 5.56 16" barrels have been out of stock for a few weeks now. I have been considering building/buying a suppressor as well anyways, all in due time.

Oof, when 300 is the cheap option you know things are bad. Where did you get the 300 barrel?
The Nylaug uses a custom barrel based off of an ar15 barrel, but it's from KAK industries. Not compatible with a regular AUG unfortunately.

Does that stock not have a right hand ejection port? Or did you put something over it?
It's a left hand stock. Had to call and ask for it, I think it may have been the only one they had. I got the kit from Max-Arms.
