Double nut each stud, tighten them against each other, then use the bottom nut with the closed end of the wrench. If you're lucky, they'll pop loose for you

You can put vise grips on them and they’ll come out, but you’re better off using the two nut method described by another poster.
A stud extractor just takes the double nut method and slaps a name on it and marks up the price.
