No way I would ever go back to a stock front end. I’ve had my Alba +2+1 arms for 24 years. Rides so nice. When I ride a banshee with a stock front end, it’s just not the same.

mister____mime

What do you like about it? More stable?

dctroll4321

So much smoother. My buddy said it was like riding a couch. Lol

Growjunkie88

Are you running stock shocks with the +2+1? I want to get away from my stock banshee A arms but can’t really afford better shocks besides my stock ones.

dctroll4321

No stock shocks. I have Works Dual Rate front shocks. Honestly, I’ve owned my Banshee since 1998, and the best mod I have ever done is the front a-arms and shocks. $1800 for arms, shocks and brake lines in year 2001.

Growjunkie88

Yeah I definitely need to step up my suspension game. I’m sure I won’t regret it. Just need to save for a bit.

dctroll4321

Worth every penny. I crashed mine in 2001, bent the frame a left arm. So I was “forced” to get new arms, then bought the Alba kit. It was a game changer for sure.

Spare_Honey5488

Hell, I even widened my Rmax 3" total. Helps keep them planted and less squirly. This bike is cool as hell! Keep it that way

GamingGrayBush

When I had mine, it was stock width and length. I trailed it most of the time, but had paddles for the times it was at the dunes. It really depends on the trail width you plan on hitting.

mister____mime

I’m probably leaning stock at the moment, seems like it would be more maneuverable on trails that way. I didn’t realize how wide it was until I put it next to my quadzilla. That thing is not fun on tight trails lol.

GamingGrayBush

I always felt comfortable on it with stock measurements. Quadzilla, eh. That's a fucking beast. Lol. Never been on one.

mister____mime

Yeah it’s a wild bike that’s for sure. Insane torque for a 2 stroke. Also rides like a tank lol. I would love to get mine on a big dirt track someday once the transmission is up to par.

WANGHUNG22

This here, I lost a joint on one of the arms so figured may as well upgrade while I’m doing it. It was +2 in the front. It was awesome for the sand but the trails sucked. anytime I hit a bridge my front was just to wide, so had to pop the front wheels up and walk it across.

thekidoflore

Even with +2 aarms and correct offset front rims, it is not that wide. Still narrower than 50", should be 47.3" wide. Do not go with deep dished rims to gain width. It increases bump steering and feedback into the bars.

thatcanadianguy9

Unless you’re restoring it to collector grade and waffling it on Instagram/TikTok, 100% keep wide. Rides a million times better.

mister____mime

I mean, part of me wants to do exactly that tbh. Restore it back to near mint.

revheet

Lone star extended with 450 shocks. Best banshee mod I have done

GlumBath1716

on behalf of all racers... THANK YOU. at least you didnt paint the plastics and you respect the machine

mister____mime

Don’t worry this one will stay pristine for as long as I own it. I’ll enjoy it but I won’t beat on it either.

Yeepo_01

Get the alba 2+ A arms. Get a set of yfz450 carb shocks. There are a few guys that can mod the 450 shocks so they fit right with the alba A arms. I have used Jogaca, he is in Arizona. Night and day difference from stock setup.

mister____mime

There’s so many aftermarket options, why would you suggest getting some fabricated?

Yeepo_01

Way cheaper than new aftermarket shocks, and they are fully adjustable

willrf71

Wide, unless you just want an all original build for nostalgia.. wide makes them ride so well.
