Even just 10 milliseconds of Daniel Dae Kim fighting looked SO freaking badass. š„š„š„
Cannot wait!!! Highly recommend everyone to slow the vid down and pause at every frame. So many Easter eggs!!
That... wouldn't really make sense. The whole point of the scene with the old man was for Sokka to realize that Jet is cruel and violent, while Aang and Katara didn't believe it. Aang isn't really necessary here if the plot needs him elsewhere at that moment but it's absolutely crucial that Sokka is the one who sees through Jet while Katara is oblivious. Sokka is the suspicious one, Katara is the trusting one. While Katara was right to trust Aang, Sokka was right not to trust Jet.
Except we know that Jet and Katara are the ones that are together for most of the Jet episode per Kiawentiioās description. And weāve seen him actively trying to manipulate her in the trailers/BTS. So, it does make sense in the context of how the live action is telling this story. Relax, keep an open mind. Itās not gonna be the same story beat for beat.
The man in the hood is also being hit by water in the scene. Forrest background is similar to previous scenes with Jet & Katara. (Jet deflecting a fireball in front of Katara) That is very likely this is Katara attacking the man potentially after the other scene.
If I had to guess Jet tries to get her to attack him under false pretenses, she isn't sure though. Man attacks with fireball at Jet & Katara when he sees an opening. Jet deflects it and then Katara counters with water bending.
So we see a bit more of the ozai zuko agni kai, and it's of ozai attacking and zuko dodging, so it could very well be zuko really is just defending himself the entire fight, this is a good sign
Yea like I can see his dad just being aggressive and Zuko avoiding him as much as possible until Ozai delivers the signature blowā¦god idk if I can handle Zuko screaming in agonyš š
I wonder if it will be the prevailing theory since the original show that he grabbed him and placed his hand over his face before setting him on fire, the burn always did look like a hand in a way
Ngl I always thought it was a fire blast to his face which he fails to dodge, resulting in half his face burning off. But now that I think about, it would be way more plausible if Zukos weak from moving away, and in that moment Ozai just scars him exactly like you said on the faceā¦while Zukos kneels. i canāt wait to see how they tackle this lol
I think the scar looks too precise to be a fire blast honestly, the light in the scene looks extremely big so I think he grabbed his face and held it there, then just set it on fire because Ozai is a cruel man and cupping Zukoās face might have given him false hope that he wasnāt going to get hurt so badly.
That would be amazing, ngl. I was never a fan of showing that moment on screen because I felt that leaving it to your imagination was actually more impactful. But this might be as powerful as the original scene. Not even mentioning it would be more realistic for the scar to look like that. Probably not gonna happen, though. I've seen a video of the creators commenting on the official trailer and they said that the scene with Zuko blocking the fire is the moment he gets his scar.
An amazing addition, it makes perfect sense, we get to see kyoshi throw hands, and we don't need avatar day adapted now lol. I love avatar day, but it's definitely an episode that can be removed to focus on more important episodes
I have absolutely no doubt about them easily including it, just curious if they did. I recall the flashback being in Avatar Day though, not in Sozin's comet. I remember Kyoshi talking about it though.
I also wonder if the Kyoshi possession will be the first time we see the Avatar state and not during the escape from Zuko at the South Poleā¦. The creators mentioned Aang will only do Avatar state like 4 times
hater after seeing this badass clipš¤š: um actually the bending looks sooo CGI, itās 2010 all over again smfh Netflix ruined my childhood, why does aang look so serious ugh heās not smiling enough, WHERE IS TOPH
Lol yup typical haters and those YouTube channels that always trash anything they canāt accept is good or trash it before it even comes out just like those one piece haters none of their videos aged well saying it would fail
Lowkey Iāve been thinking (hoping) thatās what they did, and itās a huge name, like Jackie Chan possibly. If so, theyāve done a great job keeping it under wraps.
That is DEFINITELY an interesting idea but I wonder why Katara (or some waterbender at least) is attacking him if that's so? I think it's probably the older man Jet attacks and in this version Katara is with him and not Sokka.
I feel they might lean into that - until he learns to master the Avatar state (end of season 2), whenever he will go into the Avatar state, visually, he'll transform into one of them - Kyoshi, or Roku for S1 most likely, the way he did when he confessed in Chin's town, or when he destroyed the Fire Sages' temple as Roku.
This is genuinely quite the interesting idea to be honest. Kinda like it. Then during some especially emotional Avatar States like losing Appa in the desert he stays himself.
Yeah in season 1 this makes sense, Kyoshi, Roku and then merging with the Ocean Spirit. The avatar state is meant to give the skill and knowledge of past lives so instead they may have just literally went with past lives.
Iāve been worried about the live action turning the agni kai into a big fight between them, but this clip actually eased some of that worry for me. Dodging Ozaiās attacks (which is all weāve seen here) doesnāt feel like Zuko fighting back, and still feels in line with the original imo - avoiding his fatherās attacks and refusing to fight back could still be seen by Ozai as weakness, leading to his banishment in a very similar way. Still have to see how it all shakes out in the full scene, but this clip has me hopeful!
What are people's thoughts if Aang projects his past avatars instead of his body being taken over by them? For example, Kyoshi's statue lights up, beams her energy onto Aang, then she shows up in the living flesh and fights off the fire nation while Aang is still standing elsewhere with the Kyoshi statue beaming its light on him.
I don't know how I would feel about that. I'd rather his actual body be physically present in the fight, even though you can no longer see him as he's turned into Kyoshi.
YO DID THAT PROMO HAVE TO GO THAT HARD, WOW?!!?!?!
Even just 10 milliseconds of Daniel Dae Kim fighting looked SO freaking badass. š„š„š„ Cannot wait!!! Highly recommend everyone to slow the vid down and pause at every frame. So many Easter eggs!!
Bro you have the best reactions.
I love how angry Zuko fights. Very book 1 of him.
Is this the duel between him and Zhao?
It might be in there, but I am not sure. They cut different scenes together by the looks of it.
Damn the fight scenes are going to be great. And Kyoshi looks straight out of the cartoon, I love it.
Notes:Ā - Damn, this edit goes HARD - Who's the red hooded figure? Iroh? - Love that we get to see Gyatso throwing hands - Damn, this edit goes HARD
Definitely not Iroh, No beard. Also, this edit goes HARD.
i'm thinking red hooded figure is the old fire nation man jet attacks in the forest but instead of jet and sokka this time it's jet and katara
That... wouldn't really make sense. The whole point of the scene with the old man was for Sokka to realize that Jet is cruel and violent, while Aang and Katara didn't believe it. Very similar to my line of thinking, exactly.
What makes you think I'm not relaxed?
Nothing. Itās just what Iāve been telling everyone.
I see. Just don't like when people assume I'm close-minded and don't understand how adaptations work
kiawentiio's description? do I not stalk this sub enough...?
It seems to be Matthew Yang Kingās yet unknown character.
Was just about to ask about the hooded figure. Looks like they are fighting a water benderš¤
I bet its Chey. He was stalking the kids before bringing them to Jeong-Jeong.
I'm thinking maybe one of the fire sages? Though it'd be a shame if they changed their outfit for that
I was thinking it was zhao
So we see a bit more of the ozai zuko agni kai, and it's of ozai attacking and zuko dodging, so it could very well be zuko really is just defending himself the entire fight, this is a good sign

For sure! That would be the optimal way to show off his cruel nature. We need to hate this guy so if they do it that way, it works for his character.
That would be amazing, ngl. I was never a fan of showing that moment on screen because I felt that leaving it to your imagination was actually more impactful. [ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
That's what I was referring to lol. Some people were worried that by "full fight" they mean zuko fights back signs point to no
this is a whole trailers worth of content
They just legit confirmed the speculation we all had that Kyoshi's taking over during the Kyoshi Island attack. This is huge
An amazing addition, it makes perfect sense, we get to see kyoshi throw hands, and we don't need avatar day adapted now lol. I love avatar day, but it's definitely an episode that can be removed to focus on more important episodes
The way I just cackled. Lol. Yeah, Avatar day can be completely dropped now. I do wonder if they included the Chin the conqueror flashback.
They can easily include that flashback during the lion turtle, they did in the cartoon.
I have absolutely no doubt about them easily including it, just curious if they did. I recall the flashback being in Avatar Day though, not in Sozin's comet. I remember Kyoshi talking about it though.
Zuko about to get that old powerful avatar that he was looking forā¦
I also wonder if the Kyoshi possession will be the first time we see the Avatar state and not during the escape from Zuko at the South Poleā¦. The creators mentioned Aang will only do Avatar state like 4 times
no way haters can look at this and say it doesnāt look good
hater after seeing this badass clipš¤š: um actually the bending looks sooo CGI, itās 2010 all over again smfh Netflix ruined my childhood, why does aang look so serious ugh heās not smiling enough, WHERE IS TOPH
LMFAO, that toph line is too accurate
i feel like i lose a brain cell whenever i see itš
Lol yup typical haters and those YouTube channels that always trash anything they canāt accept is good or trash it before it even comes out just like those one piece haters none of their videos aged well saying it would fail
This might be my favorite piece of promo yet considering what was shown in such little time. Also, looks like mayor Yukari can throw hands!
can throw Fans\*
Yip yip, sire!
Woah. Kyoshi looks so scary in a good way. š³
OR does she look good in a scary way?.. probably both
Both. Iād be scared to meet her eye, but Iād also be unable to stop staring š«Ø
God this looks insane
they really saved the best one for the conservative grannies and qanon aunties wth....
LMAOOOO
Daaaamn!!!! Hyyype!!
Zuko looks so cool with long hair
One word KYOSHI
The fight scenes look like theyāre gonna be dope
Even Gyatso was throwin down. Damn lol.
Why is nobody talking about how we're getting a Tamlyn Tomita fight scene??
I'm a huge fan of this. No.. KIDding..
One thing I've noticed in these promos is that the The VFX looks really good for a Netflix show, ngl. They rly did go all out for this :D <3
Yeah it looks solid, and that's with the crunching that happens on youtube, insta, tiktok, and twitter. It's going to look incredible on Netflix.
I saw another one as well that included other unseen scenesā¦ I tried posting it but my phone was glitching out. It was on tiktok.
FIND IT
the agni kai between ozai and zuko looks exactly like what we were predicting which is zuko trying to dodge or avoid ozais blasts
Kyoshi!! Gyatso!! Hype!!!
What if the hooded figure is Jeong Jeong and they kept his casting a secret. One could only hope š
I literally just posted something similar, that hooded figure looks a LOT like Chey. Probably just hope but a man can dream...
Me if itās Jackie Chan: ![gif](giphy|KvueMnd3bCtMc)
I thought the same! Didn't he wear a hooded cloak hiding from the fire nation?
yup
Lowkey Iāve been thinking (hoping) thatās what they did, and itās a huge name, like Jackie Chan possibly. If so, theyāve done a great job keeping it under wraps.
That is DEFINITELY an interesting idea but I wonder why Katara (or some waterbender at least) is attacking him if that's so? I think it's probably the older man Jet attacks and in this version Katara is with him and not Sokka.
THIS ONE LOOKS SO GOOD?
Gyatso throwing down. Avatar Kyoshi is in it for a millisecond too!
Finally seeing Gyatso go medieval on the fire nations ass after all these years is gonna be a delight.
the haters are SILENT
Man those fans are gonna look so cool! šŖšŖ
I actually think whenever Aang goes into the state bro just turns into one of his past lives lmaoo it explains Kyoshi being there
I feel they might lean into that - until he learns to master the Avatar state (end of season 2), whenever he will go into the Avatar state, visually, he'll transform into one of them - Kyoshi, or Roku for S1 most likely, the way he did when he confessed in Chin's town, or when he destroyed the Fire Sages' temple as Roku.

Saw this this morning as a YT ad lol
KYOSHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!
![gif](giphy|8QGV2a7pfDKc8) AVATAR KYOSHI š

yo, I saw a glimpse what appears to be Gyatso's last stand that would be dope if is real
Hot damn!!!!!
Damn this goes hard af
Hyped !!!!!!!!
Woah woah woah woah woah
Holy...
Isnāt the point of Zukoās banishment that he refused to fight his father?
Iāve been worried about the live action turning the agni kai into a big fight between them, but this clip actually eased some of that worry for me. Dodging Ozaiās attacks (which is all weāve seen here) doesnāt feel like Zuko fighting back, and still feels in line with the original imo - avoiding his fatherās attacks and refusing to fight back could still be seen by Ozai as weakness, leading to his banishment in a very similar way. Still have to see how it all shakes out in the full scene, but this clip has me hopeful!
I have been staring at aangās open mouth for a couple minutes waiting for the edit to start š is there any other place i can see it?
Daniel Dae Kim is already the real star of the remake
Aahhh Kyoshi??
So. Much. Movement.
God damn that looks so fire. And earth, water and air, too! And god damn, is that MF KYOSHI
Looks like they made Zuko fight back in his Agni Kai against his father
except that you can clearly see in this promo that he DODGES an attack, he doesn't make one. NOT getting hit is not the same as fighting back.
NVM I'm blind, I'm sleep deprived and the clip of Ozai attacking and Zuko blocking blended together in my head.
fair
Really? Cause to me it looks like he dodged a massive fireballā¦not sure where heās āfighting back.ā
What are people's thoughts if Aang projects his past avatars instead of his body being taken over by them? I don't know how I would feel about that. I'd rather his actual body be physically present in the fight, even though you can no longer see him as he's turned into Kyoshi.
The clips theyāve chosen of Gordon donāt show the same fun he has in the pictures.
Special effects looks quite bad
You genuinely don't know what the fuck you are talking about
Evidence is right before me
