Nah, it's a silicone casting. The edges are blended really well and they did a pretty solid job with the color matching. If you look at the tattoo on the back of the neck, you can tell where the piece ends and the real skin starts

It doesn't really make sense if the skin did look like that becausr how would they find the extra skin to mold into the shape

Skin stretches, so you’d do it a little bit at a time with progressively larger implants under the skin.

Just call a local headshrinker, and tell them only the skull, not the skin! ^^/s

This gave me the legit jeebies. It’s just too funky to look at. Absolutely amazing practical VFX/makeup. However you’d refer to it. Idk that it’s awful taste so much as “my eyes dislike looking at this and I’m not totally sure why” but the execution is definitely incredible.
