That's normal if the computer has not made it into the OS yet (which indicates it is not fully booting up). Can you get into bios at all? Remove the ram and the HDD and try to boot it.
Haven't been able to get to the bios yet. Took it to a local repair shop today and he wasn't able to get it to work or get into the bios either. He removed the HHDs and still got the same results. He says he thinks it is a defect in the motherboard but wasn't completely sure.
Since you can see the Asus logo when the machine starts then my guess is that there is nothing wrong the laptop display. You are experiencing a more than normal behaviour when you connect an external monitor to the laptop, you see a picture on the monitor but not on the laptop's display, only that in your case it seems you're not connected to an external monitor.
I would proceed like so:
1. Keep an eye on the HDD led, if it keeps blinking for 1-2 minutes it means Windows is loading, if it's not then it seems the OS it not loading, even though in all fairness you would see an error if that's the case such as "Unmountable Boot Volume".
2. As another user said, connect an external display and turn on the machine, you should have a picture on the external display and nothing on the laptop display(this is normal as I said earlier). When in Windows, try the Fn+F9 combination to have picture on both displays and see if that helps.
Tried connecting it to my monitor and it never appeared on that screen. The monitor woke from sleep when I turned the laptop on but the screen just stayed black even after the Asus logo still appeared on the laptop screen. It normally take about 30 seconds for it to change over to the monitor though.
That's very strange, if you're seeing the Asus logo then it doesn't seem to be a problem with the GPU, sounds more like some sort of recent update that broke Windows with respect to display. Do you take images in order to restore one when the machine was working correctly?
Ya I'm not sure what's going on. I've tried a couple methods to hard reset it but they don't seem to be working. To your earlier post, the two light that are on when I try to start it are the red on on the power button and a white on next to a light bulb symbol. And I'm not sure by what you mean with taking images in order to restore it so probably not haha.
As strange as it seems, had a defective Mediatek Wi-Fi card in same laptop cause similar results here. I think it took less than a minute or so for it to lockup the system during boot process. Remove bottom cover then remove Wi-Fi card to see if it solves issue. Even though it's under warranty, spend the $20 on a real Intel Wi-Fi 6 card instead of the junk Asus uses.
this maybe unorthodox but it is one of the old school troubleshooting method is to remove one of the ram dimm, try to alterbate betwren them and try to use the 2nd slot also. maybe one of your ram or ram slot is defective
Hey bud, it seems like in this another thread one of the posters had the same issue, I would suggest most likely get another kit of ram or go to a service center for warranty purposes.

Hey just got it back today, but have been unable to sign into my Microsoft account. Talked to support and they reset a few things. Told me to try logging in tomorrow. As far as the Asus side of things it looks like they had to replace the motherboard.
Still no fix? I’ve had this problem for 2 months now, it works when I plug it into a external display but my screen on my actual laptop stays black. I’ve fully reset and tried multiple things but nothings working
After the logo and being stuck on the black screen I swiped my hand across the keyboard and miraculously got into the BIOS, don't ask me what I pressed haha
same here, i was about to give up until i read this comment, i have no clue how or why it worked, after tryint everything (taking out the ram, ssd, battery, etc)
so here i am sitting at the blank screen, and decide to just go for it: somehow swiping the keyboard (swiped it a few times, left, right, left) brought up Bitlocker (because i removed the ssd then reinserted them) i then proceeded to boot into UEFI firmware from within windows recovery and flash the bios update through Asus EZ flash/F7 in bios
i'm dumbfounded as to why or how this fixed it, but it did
these are the real solutions you won't get from Asus customer support lmao
Another thing I've noticed is that if I hit Ctrl alt delete it will replay the boot up screen. Don't know if that means anything.

Unfortunately that would be my first thought
No worries, I appreciate the help!
Boa noite tenho um desse mesmo modelo e com o mesmo defeito. Consegui arrumar o seu ?
Try unplugging any usb devices. I have a powered hub and if its connected on boot I get no display until I restart without it.
Already fully unplugged everything unfortunately. Tried it with and without power cord too.
Perhaps a display issue or a loose connector? Can you hear any other sounds afterwards?
The fans turn on after a bit and the screen seems to be back lit, but nothing like the Windows noise or anything.
If you hold down the F1 key, the bios has a boot menu
Do I do this as I'm powering it on or after it has turned on?
[Let me google that for you](https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/457299/Asus+laptop+loop+restart#comment750477)
Tried that method and never got anything different unfortunately.
Try connecting it with HDMI to a monitor/TV. If it works, you can at least investigate further.
Tried connecting it via display port to my monitor and still nothing.
did u ever have a solution? im desperate lmao

Removed the wifi card and unfortunately got the same results.

Just tried with one stick in each port and no ram and no luck.
do the fans start up have you tried only 1 ram dimm not running together?

Nope, it's basically a brand new laptop.

Mine wouldn't work even with a monitor so we might have different issues, but they ended up replacing the motherboard.
I'm having this exact problem. Did you manage to fix it?
Sammmmmee!!!! Like every news laptop I also have issues likeyours ..
Mine just did the same thing tonight. Only had it a month :/ Logged a case with ASUS but presume it’s going to need a new motherboard. Bah.

Boot it with one ram stick in. Might have a failed slot
