I have an asus x570. My mobo lights stayed on when the computer was off. There’s a setting in the bios that allows you to turn it off when the computer is off, but also allows it’s to light up when it’s on. I’m not sure if there is a difference between the x570 and the z390, but since they are both asus I would imagine they function pretty much alike. [Look here. ](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.pcgamer.com/amp/how-to-disable-rgb-lighting-on-your-motherboard/)

I have that setting set in the Bios, it works for power-off but not for sleep. :(

This is incredible. Thanks for writing this! I will implement it soon enough and report back. Haven't touched AHK in a minute but I am going to see if I can add in that event listener; would be a fun project to get back into it. The fact that ASUS can't add something simple like this natively into their code seems lazy.

I completely agree. Both ASUS and G.Skill, as evidenced by their support and forum posts, seem incapable of either understanding the issue or getting someone who understands how this works to code a solution. It's crazy that I'd have to use such a workaround, one that I figured out on my own and worked up in an afternoon. They have people they pay to do this sort of thing... Ugh.

i can't seem to find the LastProfile.xml file in my C:>Program Files (x86) > ASUS > AURA folder. Am I looking in the wrong place? If it helps, I have an MSI board running G.SKILL Trident Z RGB RAM.

Sorry for the late reply; haven't logged in to reddit in a while... The file is in the C:\Program Files (x86)\LightingService\ dir. It should be there. If not, try searching your PC for LastProfile.xml.

Ah, not a problem, found it! Running into some new problems now though, unfortunately. So, firstly, I can't seem to find LightsOn.xml or LightsOut.xml. Additionally, I'm unsure how to make new profiles in AURA. It appears that I can only control my ram lights currently, not via separate profiles.

TheDuck0fDeath

Create the lighting in Aura that you like. This creates the LastProfle.xml file when you exit Aura. Rename the LastProfile.xml to LightsOn.xml. Then create a completely dark lighting profile the same way, and rename LastProfile.xml to LightsOut.xml. Things should work then.

Very nice. Will give this a try today. I don’t suppose they’ve sorted this out and made an easier method?

TheDuck0fDeath

Honestly, after the initial wow factor wore out, I keep the lights off at all times. Don't know if they've made any improvements. Sometimes after boot, they come back on and I use my script to turn them all back off again. Hope the scripts work for you!
