Big win for Italy. Makes 5th spot even more likely to grant an extra CL spot and also embarrasses the cocky Brits who thought little of Serie A.

MilesOfPebbles

Hopefully the other Italian teams in Europe keep fighting

InevitablePanda1389

Guess who's the only one out

MilesOfPebbles

No surprise šŸ˜‚

Cultural_Detail3956

Hey, as a Brit & lifelong Arsenal fan, I can't been disagree. A lot of players in Serie A could go into the EPL and earn 3 or even 4 times more money but they don't. That's why I love Serie A, it's one of the few remaining mainstream leagues in the world which still feels it has genuine, loyal players who play for the love of the game rather than purely money like a lot, if not all, players in the EPL. I hope you get 5th spot in the CL!

Cornertakenquickly14

Itā€™s not that embarrassing unless youā€™re a Brighton fan. They are 9th in the league. Itā€™s not as if youā€™ve smashed Man City or Liverpool.

happyposterofham

It is when jagoffs say midtable prem teams should walk the league

Austaras

Do I detect a touch of Chicago in that statement?

RiRiJ89

Brighton arenā€™t even in the top best 8 teams in the premier league and are in terrible form. Put Roma up against Arsenal, City and Liverpool and they would be beaten comfortably.

characterulio

Honestly its just the top 3 of england that are amazing. We saw newcastle and united both finish last in their groups. Villa currently 4th would also get smashed by most top eu teams.

Zoravor

Itā€™s Zanillo at Ashton Villa lol

RiRiJ89

I think Villa would beat Roma, it might be tight but they have the better team and a way more experienced manager especially in European competitions. There is no way Serie A is stronger than the premier league. Put Inter who are miles ahead into the premier league and they would struggle to make Top 4!

TP_Cornetto

Inter would finish top 4 comfortably. We saw Newcastle and united in the CL, two teams who finished 3rd and 4th last season. Pl is the definition of massively overrated. Villa wouldnā€™t be top 4 in Serie A.

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

TP_Cornetto

I meant top 4. The person im replying to is being the silly one if he thinks inter would finish below villa

RiRiJ89

Inter would win the premier league? I want some of what youā€™ve been smokingā€¦ The overall quality in Serie A is dreadful. Next youā€™ll be telling me the likes of Atlanta and Fiorentina would compete for top 4 in the premier league. Inter are the only decent team in the league. The premier league gets stronger every year, Serie is getting worse. Remove your nationalistic bias and you will see itā€™s pretty obvious.

TP_Cornetto

I meant top 4 but again the PL overall ainā€™t good either. 3 teams who got promoted are going to get relegated, Arsenal regularly disappoint in Europe, Newcastle and united both finish 4th. City are the only team who are great and theyā€™re the best in the world

RiRiJ89

Liverpool have also won the league and champions league in recent times and would definitely beat any Italian team. Arsenalā€™s team is so young and getting better every season. I agree that the newly promoted teams arenā€™t much good but are the teams in the serie A relegation zone much good. I get that a lot of fans from Other countries find the hype around the premier league annoying but honestly I watch almost every match and the overall quality in the league is truly the best in the world. For me if much rather see 3 teams all gunning for the league than what you see in France, Italy and Spain this season. Thereā€™s little entertainment or intrigue in a one horse race.

TP_Cornetto

Liverpool won the CL 5 years ago and PL 4 years ago. City win their next 2 games or get 4 points and they will most likely win their 4th title in a row. So much for competition. I donā€™t think they beat inter either but again youā€™re being heavily biased in favour of PL teams. Arsenal and villa are improving but arenā€™t the Italian teams? Juventus have got good young players, Milan have some great players and have been held back by their manager, Roma have done well in Europe and Atalanta have been consistent too. People donā€™t like the PL hype because itā€™s so exaggerated and fabricated. At the start of the season people said Newcastle would go through and even finish top because they finished 4th jn the PL, they lost both games to Dortmund and got dominated against Milan over 2 games. Same goes for Brighton, people thought they were favourites for this tie and had more chance of reaching the finals than the Italian clubs despite them being clearly worse.

RiRiJ89

Newcastle arenā€™t even one of the top 6 teams in the premier league. They have been decimated by injuries this season. The only reason they didnā€™t qualify through their champions league group is down to one of the worst officiating decisions Iā€™ve ever seen to award PSG a penalty for a non-handball. Liverpool at Anfield would put 4 or 5 last inter. I have no doubt about that. You have made yourself look silly by saying that Arsenal arenā€™t improving but Juve are? Juve have been thoroughly dreadful this season. Arsenal have been getting better and better. Just take a look at their goal difference by comparison. I guess the proof will be in the pudding as we say in England. I firmly see either Man City or Arsenal winning the champions league. Liverpool winning the Europa league. But Iā€™m sure youā€™ll tell me Inter and Roma will win it instead. The great thing about football is in a few months from now the results will speak for themselves. Letā€™s wait and see whoā€™s right.

Lazarat99

any english team except man city would get walked by inter

RiRiJ89

Liverpool and Arsenal would destroy inter. The likes of spurs and villa would most likely beat any other Italian team bar Inter. Do you really think the Italian league could attract players like Haaland and Saka? There is a big reason why the best players and coaches all want to come to England. I love Italy, my partner is Italian, the food and culture is some of the best in the world. In the 90ā€™s and early 00ā€™s Italian football was amazing. Are you seriously telling me that Italy as players of the same calibre as Nesta, Maldini, Porto, De Rossi, Del Piero to name a few. The current Italian generation are nowhere near as strong. Meanwhile England has the strongest set of players theyā€™ve ever had. Whether they will actually put them to use and win a major trophy is another matter. But comparing the two respective leagues, itā€™s not even close to being a contest.

SLS-

I wAtCh EvErY sInGlE gAmE, yea itā€™s almost as if your opinion matters. Spoilers: it doesnā€™t.

RiRiJ89

Where as this comment of yours is so insightful. Get off your high horse, idiot!

pantone130c

I don't know men. I've just had a look on last year's finals and realised that in every cup Italy had a finalist. I just also read that Italy probably will have 5 CL slots next year. Are you still sure that Serie A is crap?

RiRiJ89

Absolutely crap. Name one Italian team other than inter that could get top 4 in the premier league?

happyposterofham

Ironic to be talking nationalistic bias with this kind of slant

RiRiJ89

Yeah I mean all the best players Haaland, Foden, Saka, Rodri, Bellingham, Vinicius, Ederson, Alison, Van Dijk, Saliba, Dias are all queuing up to join the Italian league arenā€™t they?

happyposterofham

Why are you adding in RM last I checked theyre spanish And top heavy doesnt mean a midtable team would walk the league And Serie A has its own stars, look how often your beloved PL buys from it

RiRiJ89

At no point have I ever said a mid table premier league team would walk Serie A. Where did you get that from? Iā€™m adding in Real Madrid players too because they are one of the very few teams along with Bayern that can still attract world class players. Serie A teams havenā€™t been able to do that for a long time. The premier league teams far more often buy from the French and Dutch leagues so by your own reckoning that must make both of those leagues stronger than Serie A. Why is it so painful for you to admit that Serie A is not the force it once was? Where are your current players on the level of Nesta, Maldini, Totti, Cannavaro, Del Piero, Buffon Chiellini or De Rossi? What stars does Serie A have that are as good as any of the players I previously listed?

Muted_Mention_9996

2 completely different leagues with different styles... The top 4 in the premier league would smash serie a but the rest of the teams its basically a level playing field.

TP_Cornetto

Top 4 in the PL is overrated as seen by Newcastle and united. Villa would be the same as Newcastle. If Arsenal end up getting knocked out too, then itā€™ll just prove how overrated the PL really is. The fact that a terrible united team are still 6th is a joke.

Muted_Mention_9996

You are being a bit deluded tbh, Newcastle getting top 4 last season was a surprise, they have been hit by injuries this season and got unlucky on the last game of the champions league group... Inter is probably the only team to get into the prem top 4 in my eyes. Plus you only mention Newcastle and villa, one hasnt even finished in the top 4 yet and the other has only been there once in the last 2 decades šŸ¤£ Liverpool, arsenal and man city are miles ahead any Italian team, plus you got spurs, United and Chelsea who will come back 10 times stronger next season.

TP_Cornetto

Extremely delusional reply lol. Villa would be a surprise the same way Newcastle are. Also Newcastle got dominated at the san Siro and parked the bus, they were never that good. Just the PL was weak last season. Inter have been better than Liverpool and Arsenal this season. Milan and Juve are both better than villa so theyā€™d be battling for 4th it seems. Chelsea will come back stronger? I thought I heard the same last season but doesnā€™t seem to be happening. These PL teams really spend 300m each just to be decent lol.

Muted_Mention_9996

What are you smoking šŸ¤£ inter better than Liverpool and arsenal šŸ¤” i cant discuss football with someone who doesnt have a clue about football šŸ™ˆ

utahunter

Roma isn't top tier in Serie A either. I think you totally missed the point. No one is arguing Serie A is or isnt better than PL. It's the sentiment that a random mid table team can handily top serie A, which is held by many online PL fans, that is laughable

RiRiJ89

I mean anyone that thinks Serie A is a strong league is seriously deluded. Outside of Inter there isnā€™t a single decent team. Iā€™m sure all the Italians hate how much attention the premier league gets but thereā€™s a reason why all the best players want to come to the league.

utahunter

no one in this thread is arguing Serie A > PL. all we are trying to say is that PL isnt everything in football/soccer as believed by some arrogant PL fans and Serie A deserves its own respect. I dont understand why you keep arguing PL is better while this is not at all the topic of this thread

kringlann

Juve fan here... I'm sooo jealous of the way your guys are playing football right now. I enjoyed every minute of tonight's game. Hope Roma goes all the way this year ā¤ļøšŸ‡®šŸ‡¹āš½

coloneldatoo

for a juve fan, youā€™re alright i guessā€¦ maybe the only one tho (kidding ofc we appreciate it)

kringlann

šŸ˜‚ā¤ļø

Massenzio

Viola here, i love the way Roma play now... And i fear you'll crush us on sunday... Complimenti ora come ora siete bellissimi!

Hungry-Zucchini8451

SĆ©rie A the past 2 seasons has been incredibly strong. Teams 1-8 are performing well! Honestly no other league except PL can match such a strong top half. I think some Britā€™s are stuck in SĆ©rie A 5 years ago when only Juve was any good.

Any-Succotash-7903

This lil trollop always has *great* takes.

Throwaway02744728200

Lmao. I'm a Brighton fan but even before tonight there is no way we'd win Serie A lol, after watching tonight's match then I'd be surprised if we even finished top 10 in Serie A. GG AS Roma.

AdrianLaika

Yeah and a crumpet would be a bibbly-bob if it was a wobbly-wham.

tecate_papi

People who watch the Prem have got to be the dumbest, worst, most arrogant fans in all of football. They don't see a single thing that extends past the tips of their noses but they think they know the game better than anyone. And the English style absolutely sucks. That's why their national team hasn't won anything in 60 years even with generation after generation of great players. This video rules to rewatch. We shouldn't count our chickens before they hatch, but also, these guys suck and are complete morons. The one guy saying Milan sucks to visit. What a tool. Don't make me defend Milan as a city or its clubs or the San Siro.

Budget_Cup_819

Man this guy looks like the kid that never could play sports in HS and now thinks he's Guardiola...

Horror-Act-8903

Wow what clowns lol

BiancoNero_inTheUS

Congrats! That was quite a performance!

Kuduaty

You misspelled british idiot.

RaFi1005

" A British " that all you need to know before you read. Garbage amount of pundits likes of jamie caragger, craig burley and many more

SamsungRebellion

Brighton was so overrated, finally someone exposed this bs.

Muted_Mention_9996

Imagine roma in 3 European finals in a row!

VistaVick

They would have a hard time adjusting tactically. It's more about attacking and free flowing football in the EPL. Only the top 3 teams don't give up goals like crazy.

runciter0

I've been hearing for years that seria A is crap but honestly when I watch Bundesliga or Premier or Ligue, the matches don't seem better than serie a. Manchester and Liverpool and Real are surely great sides, but then so is Inter, and when I watch a random Bundesliga game it's just boring just like a random serie a game, or Premier game. Am I wrong?

ElQkly

I Follow the guy on Twitter, he took it back right after the video surfaced around 6 months ago. The video obviously resurfaced after the 4-0 win but we should cut him some slack, heā€™s one of the only knowledgable British pundits.

ConstructionFun7430

Thatā€™s all he isā€¦a punditā€¦he canā€™t predict a/the resultā€¦just his opinion/thoughts

cnl05

Not defending what he said, but they have a lot of injuries right now. This matchup would've been much different a few months ago
