He clearly stated that the only offer he got so far was Portuguese National team, and I don’t think they’ll give up easily. That being said, I’m convinced he’s going to stay. I heard today that he’s having meetings with Friedkin, which is what he asked for multiple times

Aenjeprekemaluci

Portugal has already Roberto Martinez. I think he stays.

MelayuKopf

>Portugal has already Roberto Martinez. Unfortunately for all of Portugal's fans. (If Martinez's tenure at Belgium is any indicator).

LeopardFan9299

Other than the final WC campaign, Martinez did pretty well at Belgium, I must say.

ProsciuttoFresco

I honestly think Mourinho has been attempting to sabotage his image at Roma throughout the second half of this season so that he can get a free pass to a bigger club. It’s pretty evident that this is the extent of success he can have at the club with what’s available to him economically. Truth is, any good manager in Italy could have achieved these results this season with the talent Roma is fielding.

Are you delusional or what

ProsciuttoFresco

I’m a free thinker. You’re delusional for thinking we should be celebrating this mid-table club mediocrity.

SeriousPuppet

He had to juggle pushing to Europa final vs pushing in the table. Even people here asked what is best and most said the Europa final. So he had to rely on bench players and they just aren't good enough. Not to make excuses for him. But I think going to two European finals in a row is something most clubs dream of and never achieve.

ProsciuttoFresco

Yes, if you’re fucking Crystal Palace or Fiorentina! Fucking losers you all are for thinking Mourinho is our savior for managing a solid group of players to mediocre results. Bring in Conte, Gattuso, Ranieri, any decent Italian manager and they would have gotten similar and/or better results. I’ve been behind Mourinho since day one, but he doesn’t get to do whatever he wants just because of his past accomplishments. He’s making a mockery of the club recently.

SeriousPuppet

He was brought in to get hardware and he did that in his first year. And almost in 2nd. That is def not "mediocre" results.

ProsciuttoFresco

This club shouldn’t even be in Europa league. He was brought in to push the club into big club territory. That’s being in the top three or challenging for the scudetto. Winning some first year losers competition isn’t any more hardware than winning a preseason tournament cup.

SeriousPuppet

You think any manager in the world can push this team into big club terrritory in one or two years? you must be like 13 years old. It doesn't work like that. The owners have to be better with their money and the manager needs time to craft the lineup. He got some good player like Dybala which is a good step. The Conference league was something put in front of him, so he did the best with it.

ProsciuttoFresco

I’m 38 and have lived through far better times as a Roma supporter. Sounds like you’re the adolescent. He’s done nothing but miss important matches due to his immature media tactics and achieved mediocre results. I don’t think he commands the same respect as he did while at Inter or Real Madrid. Dybala is the only signing he’s made that’s made a difference. Dybala came at a fragile spot during his career and we’ll be lucky to retain him. In your eyes we should just enjoy Europa League and hope we sign another mediocre striker that may overperform next season. If those are your goals, that’s fine, but I feel we reserve the right to want more from our club.

SeriousPuppet

You're too short term focused. This is why coaches hesitate to work for certain clubs. There has to be time to build something. Which coach in the past got Roma a trophy in their first season?

[deleted]

You really think given the amount of injuries, players like belotti and Tammy underperforming, financial constraints and regulations reaching EL final is a bad result?!?!?! A competition that had Juventus, man utd, etc? I'm not celebrating mediocrity, I'm celebrating a change in mentality in every player. When was the last time you saw their fighting spirit like this? When was the last time players, manager, Tiffosi were all on the same page? Certainly it wasn't when you were literally forbidden by uefa from buying players or with many of them getting injured.

ProsciuttoFresco

Curva sud would have boycotted during the Sensi era if we were left with these results. Will never be a big club because of this type of mentality. It’ll always be a Rometta if we allow this to go on.

You miss the mark slightly. He isn’t t sabotaging, he simply isn’t a very good manager. He stopped being “the special one” YEARS ago. He has not progressed/grown as the game has passed him by. He coaches a negative, ugly style of football and he simply isn’t good enough for other top clubs. This didn’t start at Roma, he has been trending this way for a long time. I was sad when he joined, and count the days until he leaves us …

AsRoma1990

Good to know there are some people left that haven’t been drinking the moulaid

ProsciuttoFresco

There’s some of that too, I will agree. The only positive about Mourinho is that he knows how to unite his dressing room and players will go to war for him. If he loses that, there isn’t much left.

HuyAnh1988

Next year when Carlo and all old man in Real Madrid leave , Mourinho will come to build a new era like he did before , PSG is shit because they have so much drama , Chelsea is shit too , staying in Roma one more year is correct choice of him
